Guards
Russell Westbrook, OKC [vs POR] (DK: $11.5, FD: $11.8k)
Follow the Westbrook rule, this is a small slate where he's the only stud which makes him a must play. Kyle Lowry is out today after taking a hard fall late in the game last night. The matchup looks tough versus Portland who are ranked 2nd versus starting point guards but just ignore matchups for studs like Westrbook, and with Lowry not playing those matchup stats are not relevant anyhow. Westbrook is averaging 61 fantasy points over the last 20 games, the next closest player is DeRozan at 43, it's just not possible to make up for that difference with mid-tier guys tonight unless Westbrook were to just completely flop or get injured.
Shabazz Napier, POR [@OKC] (DK: $5.4k, FD: $4.8k)
Damian Lillard has already been ruled out tonight which means another start for Napier. He's been extremely profeccient while filling in for Lillard averaging 37 fantasy points a game in each of these last 5 starts. It's not an ideal matchup versus the Thunder who rank 13th versus starting point guards, but for this low salary you get a starting point guard who is going to play over 30 minutes tonight.
Delon Wright, TOR [vs MIA] (DK: $4.4k, FD: $4.8k)
Delon Wright has already seen his playing time increase recently seeing 24.5 minutes per game in January so far. That playing time could be going up again tonight and possibly starting tonight with Kyle Lowry out. The Raptors really like the energy and athleticism Wright brings onto the court as they were already phasing him into a bigger role. It's a tough matchup versus Miami who rank 4th versus starting point guards in a negative pace game, so don't expect Wright to have a huge game but he's certainly capable of providing value at his current salary with Lowry out.
Forwards
Harrison Barnes, DAL [vs ORL] (DK: $7k, FD: $6.8k)
He's super expensive tonight but on a small slate he makes a good target tonight. Vegas has this as the highest scoring game of the night at 214.5 points and the Mavericks are favored by 7 points and they get a large pace bump as well. The Magic are ranked dead last versus starting small forwards and they're even worse if Mario Hezonja has to start for Simmons again, as he's in the bottom part of the league in defensive rating.
Kelly Olynyk, MIA [@TOR] (DK: $5.7k, FD: $6k)
The Raptors are ranked 7th against starting power forwards over the last 20 games but over the last 10 games they are ranked 28th allowing 30 fantasy points a game. Olynyk has been playing more than 30 minutes a game with all of the injuries the Heat are dealing with right now. It's a pace up matchup for Olynyk as well and his salary has dropped making him a decent option tonight.
Maurice Harkless, POR [@OKC] (DK: $3.8, FD: $3.5k)
Harkless sees a +2% usage boost and nearly 8 more fantasy points per game when Lillard is not on the court. He likely won't have as big of a game as his last outing but he still makes for a good target tonight against the Thunder who are without Andre Roberson one of the cornerstones of their defense. This is a tournament only play as his playing time is not secure at all, as he'll see anywhere from 14-25 minutes tonight.
Centers
Zach Randolph, SAC [@LAL] (DK: $6.3k, FD: $5.5k)
This makes for a bit better Fanduel play due to the nice discount. The Lakers are ranked 28th against starting centers allowing 34 fantasy points a game. Randolph has been seeing only around 23 minutes per game lately, down from the nearly 30 minutes per game he was seeing earlier in the season. The Lakers are favored to win this by 6.5 so the Kings are going to need to exploit matchups like Randolphs tonight if they want a chance to win.
Jonas Valanciunas, TOR [vs MIA] (DK: $5.1k, FD: $5.5k)
His ceiling is just too high to completely forget about Valanciunas. He never gets consistent court time which makes him extremely frustrating to use. Valanciunas is scoring 1.2 fantasy points per minute, the 6th highest of any player on this slate just behind Zach Randolph and DeMar DeRozan. If they need him on the court for extended time tonight to stop Whiteside he could certainly have another big game.
Brook Lopez, LAL [vs SAC] (DK: $4.6k, FD: $5.1k)
The Lakers released Andrew Bogut after their last game, and while he was only playing around 10 minutes per game that does mean potentially a little extra time on court for guys like Lopez. The Kings are ranked 24th against starting centers allowing 32 fantasy points a game and even more while they're on the road. Lopez also has a good history when the Lakers are favored to win. He's a low cost punt option at center for tournaments tonight if you need to save salary for elsewhere.
