Top NBA Plays 2/1| $6k and Under Plays
It's a 10-game slate, and it doesn't take a genius to tell you to play Nikola Jokic. Therefore let's take a look at players $6k and under in the Monday Value Bin.
Today's NBA Matchups
Hornets @ Heat (-6.5) , O/U 217.5, 7:30 PM ET
Terry Rozier has a sprained ankle, which means LaMelo Ball might be in the starting lineup for Charlotte tonight. Jimmy Butler returned for the Heat on Saturday with a 51fp night.
Lakers (-5.5) @ Hawks, O/U 218.5, 7:30 PM ET
Ending long road trips leave a team ripe for a slip-up game, and that's the spot the Lakers are in as their 7-game jaunt ends tonight. The Hawks begin life without second leading scorer Deandre Hunter tonight after a knee injury.
Knicks @ Bulls (-4) , O/U 218.5, 8:00 PM ET
The Knicks get the best pace boost of the night, putting their #30 tempo vs. the Bulls #2 unit. The betting total favors New York getting this edge in Tom Thibodeau's return to Chicago.
“I certainly miss those restaurants” -Tom Thibodeau on Chicago
Thibs is back at the United Center tonight. And as @KCJHoop writes, some things have changed, but the Thibs-isms stay the same nbcsports.com/chicago/bulls/…

Timberwolves @ Cavs (-4.5), O/U 219, 8:00 PM ET
The Cavs had 72 points in the point vs. Minnesota's Swiss cheese interior defense yesterday and should continue that as the back-to-back heads back to Cleveland.
Lineup notes: Naz Reid missed Sunday's game with a wrist injury.
Kings @ Pelicans (-3), O/U 233,8:00 PM ET
The Pelicans won this matchup 128-123 on January 17th, and oddsmakers are expecting another high scoring affair tonight. De'Aaron Fox had a 78fp night in that contest, thriving in a rivalry with Lonzo Ball that goes back to the 2016 McDonald's All-American Game.
Lineup Notes: Steven Adams (calf) is questionable.
Rockets (-5) @ Thunder, O/U 223.5, 8:00 PM ET
Houston is on the up-and-up, winning five straight to climb back to .500. The Rockets also have the best defensive efficiency in the NBA since the Harden trade.
Trail Blazers @ Bucks (-9.5), O/U 236, 8:00 PM ET
Milwaukee is a good team to target against right now after they've allowed 131 to New Orleans and 126 to Charlotte in back to back losses.
Grizzlies @ Spurs (-3.5), O/U 221, 8:30 PM ET
The Griz won this matchup 129-112 on Saturday, but the Spurs were on a back-to-back after a big win over Denver on Friday night.
Lineup notes: Jonas Valanciunas (health and safety) has rejoined Memphis but is still a GTD.
Suns @ Mavs (-3), O/U 216.5, 8:30 PM ET
Deandre Ayton had 18 points and 17 rebounds in a 3-point Suns win over Dallas on Saturday night but the Mavs are expected to get Maxi Kleber and Kristaps Porzingis back for the rematch.
Lineup notes: Devin Booker has been upgraded to questionable.
Pistons @ Nuggets (-8.5), O/U 217.5, 9:00 PM ET
This one has 🕯️Blowout Game🕯️written all over it as Detroit lost by 27 to Golden State on Saturday to kick off a West Coast road trip. Then again, the Nuggets are on the back-to-back after a 128-117 win over Utah yesterday.
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
Eric Bledsoe DK $6k | FD $5.6k
For whatever reason Eric Bledsoe thrives against Sacramento, going for 33+ fp in four straight vs. the Kings. Bledsoe has taken at least 13 shots in four straight, a trend that should continue as the Kings are bottom 5 in backcourt defense.
Immanuel Quickley DK $5.3k | FD $5.2k
The Knicks are on the back to back, but Immanuel Quickley only played 27 minutes yesterday vs. the Clippers. He still put up 36+ fp for the third time in the last four games. Ride the red hot rook.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker DK $4.8k | FD $4.7k
Is anybody sold on the Kings' defensive resurgence? Even though they've allowed 107 points or less in three of the last four, Sacramento is also wrapping up a 4-game road trip tonight. Nickeil Alexander-Walker has been in a perfect lineup in two of the last three and is coming off 38fp vs. a good Rockets defense.
Anfernee Simons DK $4.2k | FD $3.5
There's nice upside for Simons against a Milwaukee team that is struggling on defense right now. His output increases 21% in up-pace games and has 13+ shots in two of the last three.
Monte Morris DK $3.8k | FD $3.9k
Monte Morris has 26 and 41 fp his last two vs. the Pistons, and that might not be random since he went to Flint Beecher High School in Michigan. Injuries to Gary Harris and PJ Dozier give a usage boost as does Denver being on the back to back. Take a look at Facu Campazzo in this spot as well.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Thaddeus Young DK $5.7k | FD $5.1k
The Bulls are running their offense through...Thaddeus Young? The big man has posted 11 and 9 assists en route to consecutive 40+ fp nights. The Bulls have a tough matchup with the Knicks defense, but New York is also on the back to back.
Anthony Edwards DK $5.6k | FD $4.8
The rookie is finding himself, going for 40+ in two of the last three. He likes the matchup too, posting 23/5/4 vs. the Cavs yesterday.
Carmelo Anthony DK $4.9k | FD $4.9
A dud of a game on Saturday night should draw ownership away from Carmelo Anthony which is good heading into a matchup with a struggling Bucks defense. Melo fared well vs. the Bucks the last two 33 and 37 fp.
KZ Okpala DK $3k | FD $3.5k
Okpala is a bit of a stretch for a guy who has a 19fp ceiling on the year, but he is a starter and gets a matchup with a Charlotte team that struggles defending in the paint.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Montrezl Harrell DK $5.4k | FD $5.4k
Harrell likes the matchup with the Hawks, going for 30+ fp in three of the last 4 vs. Atlanta. Anthony Davis resting his quad at the end of a long road trip doesn't hurt here either.
Bobby Portis DK $4.5k | FD $4.7k
Portis had 31fp in his last home game, logging 27 minutes and taking 16 shots in a blowout win over Atlanta. Milwaukee could get another huge victory tonight as nearly 10 point favorites over Portland.
