Top NBA Plays 2/11 | Short Week, Big Games

The NBA all-star weekend is on the horizon, which means it's a four day work week for DFS players. The league has jam packed the week starting with a 9-game card for Monday. It's such a loaded night that either New York or Cleveland is going to get a win. They have to, they play each other...then again, don't count these teams out for a double loss somehow. On to the games:

Tonight's Headline Games

The New York Knicks are huge fans of the military - well tanks at least. They've lost 16 in a row, but look out, the Cleveland Cavaliers are just -1.5 favorites on Monday night.

How does the Dallas Mavericks being on a back-to-back effect the DFS performances in a star-studded game vs. the Houston Rockets? Oddsmakers are expecting a blowout, listing Houston at -10.

Another team on a B2B is the Portland Trail Blazers, yet they are 'only' +5.5 underdogs at the Oklahoma City Thunder. When these teams met up on January 22nd, Paul George dropped 36.

It should be a big DFS night for Toronto Raptors players. The Brooklyn Nets rank 23rd or worse defensively vs. every position except point guard.

Can the Nets keep it close as +10.5 underdogs vs. Toronto

Guards

Collin Sexton (DK: $4,900 FD: $5,400 Y! $16) Ownership: 12.27%

What you have to like about Collin Sexton is that he launches, and that's usually with Cleveland getting blown out. The rookie has 14, 18, 24, and 17 field goal attempts over his last four games. Sexton's fantasy numbers were down a bit through January, but so were his minutes. The usage should be there vs. the Knicks on Monday, as Cleveland is a favorite for the first time since December 23rd.

Reggie Jackson (DK: $5,600 FD: $6,800 Y! $19) Ownership 12.24%

Detroit's Reggie Jackson should be good for a 30-point plug-in Monday vs. the Wizards but can he approach 40+? He has put up at least 30 fp in 6 of 7 games, including a three game stretch of 40 or more. In the last three games, Washington has allowed a 27 point game to Kris Dunn but also 37.25 to Collin Sexton and 53 to Eric Bledsoe in just 27 minutes. Defense isn't a huge priority for a Wizards squad that has given up 125, 148, 116, and 132 points in their last four road games.

Malik Beasley (DK: $5,300, FD; $4,600 Y!:$17 ) Ownership 9.78%

You always worry about "Mr. Triple Double" Nikola Jokic stealing all the fantasy points but he's got a tough matchup with Hassan Whiteside and Miami's #1 defense vs. the C position. That should leave a ceiling potential game for Malik Beasley in the back court. The Heat are a blowout danger in a back-to-back and as +10 underdogs. Beasley did score 35 points in a 14 point win over Houston, however. He's also logged at least 30 in 4 of the last 5 and Denver desperately needs to snap a 3-game losing streak.

Gary Harris is out again Monday which is good for Beasley's production.

Forwards

Pascal Siakam (DK: $6,500 FD: $6,800 Y! $30) Ownership 7.2%

At the very least, there should be some rebounds available for Pascal Siakam as long as Brooklyn can keep it close vs. the Raptors. The Nets have allowed 18 rebounds to Lauri Markannen and 15 boards to Giannis Antetokounmpo at the PF position over the last three games. Siakam gets shots too, having at least 13 field goal attempts in 7 of 9.

Even Mason Plumlee had a near 40 point fantasy night vs. the Nets recently.

Andrew Wiggins (DK: $6,500 FD: $6,500 Y!: $28) Ownership 9%

There's good value on Andrew Wiggins on Monday depending on who sits for Minnesota. Jeff Teague has returned from the injured list but Derrick Rose has been upgraded to questionable. Either way, it should be a solid night for Wiggins vs. a Clippers team playing in their sixth straight road game. Wiggins has back-to-back 48+ fantasy point nights including taking 28 field goal attempts on February 7th.

Kelly Olynyk ( DK: $4,100, FD: $4,300 Y! $12) Ownership 2.04%

Kelly Olynyk is Monday's dark h-o-r-s-e play of the night with just 2% ownership. Believe it or not, there could be value on KO with Miami on part two of a back-to-back. The last time Miami lost a game by double digits on February 1st to OKC, Olynyk logged 30 minutes and had a 21 point, 7 rebound night. Olynyk is also averaging 41.38 fantasy points vs. the Nuggets in the last two outings, so who knows? The potential is at least there.

Center

Kenneth Faried (DK: $6,800 FD: $7,400 Y!: $26) Ownership 8.36%

You have to like Kenneth Faried's rebounding potential vs. a Dallas team that is on a back-to-back and has turned to Maxi Kleber at C after the Deandre Jordan trade. Andre Drummond has a 20 rebound game vs. the Mavs since the trade and Faried has grabbed at least 11 boards in four straight games.

Utility Player

Paul George (DK:$10,300 FD:$11,600 Y!51) Ownership 9.75%

Tonight's lineup leaves $10,300, which is enough for a Paul George play. OKC is in a potential blowout spot vs. a Portland team on a B2B, but George is probably going to get his minutes regardless. He's logged at least 32 minutes in 9 straight and has at least 48 fantasy points in each game. Over those 9 games George also has five 60+ point nights, which makes him a solid play for sure.

It's a weird week for a lot of NBA teams. We will have to see if players have 'checked out' moving closer to the all-star break. There are 5 games on the Tuesday card to dig into.
