Top NBA Plays 2/12| Late Scratch & Sniffle

Al Bundy enjoys a late scratch with his hands down his pants after a day of selling women's shoes, but that's about the extent of it. These NBA late scratches are getting brutal, Isaiah Roby hurting his foot in warmups on Wednesday with 63% DK ownership and Tyler Herro last night (health and safety) who was 31% owned on FD.

Then again, that might just be the game we play, Frank Mason was 67% owned on DK last night and hurts his groin 4-minutes into the game and finishes with 0fp.

Sometimes the only real DFS prep you can do is carry grocery bags for old ladies and shovel your neighbor's sidewalk for free so that the analytic of karma falls on your side. What a time to try, as there's an 11-gamer on tap for Friday night.

Today's NBA Matchups

Timberwolves @ Hornets (-3.5) , O/U 228.5, 7:00 PM ET

Did Charlotte just have a defensive slip-up last game in allowing 130 points to Memphis or is Minnesota a target? We do have Karl-Anthony Towns back for a 2nd game and he actually logged 30 minutes Wednesday vs. LAC.

Lineup Notes: D'Angelo Russell (leg) out. Devonte Graham (groin) questionable.

Knicks (-2.5) @ Wizards, O/U 219, 7:00 PM ET

#30 pace vs. #1 pace. #5 defense vs. #29 defense. Tough game to handicap because we don't know which style wins out, but it's probably the Knicks who have had the last two nights off.

Lineup Notes: Bradley Beal (rest) out.

Spurs @ Hawks (-2) , O/U 225.5, 7:30 PM ET

The bad news is the Spurs lost by 23 the last time we saw them, the good news is that was three nights ago so they should be rested. DeMar DeRozan gets an 18% boost with 2+ days of rest.

Lineup Notes: LaMarcus Aldridge (hip) out. Rajon Rondo (back) out.

Pelicans @ Mavs (-3), O/U 232, 7:30 PM ET

We were excited for the Luka vs. Trae matchup and Doncic didn't disappoint with 28/10/10 (65fp). It might be the Luka vs. Lonzo game to target though as Doncic went for 65+ fp in two of the last three vs. New Orleans, including 30/17/10 last March.

Clippers (-7) @ Bulls, O/U 227.5, 8:00 PM ET

It was the Sweet Life of Zach and Coby on Wednesday for the Bulls as their two guards combined for 76 points on 17-31 from three point range. Things will be a little tougher vs. the Clippers than the Pelicans, especially with Patrick Beverley back.

Pistons @ Celtics (-7.5), O/U 211.5, 8:00 PM ET

Detroit is on the back-to-back, and they didn't look great in a 95-111 home loss to the Pacers. Blake Griffin played 33 minutes putting his status for tonight in jeopardy and Mason Plumlee was a late scratch (elbow). Could be a possible 🕯️Blowout Game🕯️for Boston.

Lineup Notes: Kemba Walker (rest) is out.

Thunder @ Nuggets(-12), O/U 222.5, 9:00 PM ET

OKC has beaten Minnesota and gone to OT in back-to-back losses to the Lakers. The Thunder playing well again would bode well for a Denver target, but the Nuggets beat Cleveland by 38 on Wednesday.

Bucks @ Jazz (-2.5), O/U 234.5, 9:00 PM ET

Milwaukee is an underdog for the first time this season, which would normally make them a great target except that Utah has the 3rd best defense and the 3rd slowest pace in the league. The Bucks are also in game 5 of a 6 game West Coast swing.

Grizzlies @ Lakers (-7), O/U 218.5, 10:00 PM ET

The Lakers have won six straight, but the last three have all been home OT wins. Memphis looked great in putting up 130 points, but not for DFS purposes as they had 7 players score at least a dozen points.

Cavs @ Trail Blazers (-3.5), O/U 222.5, 10:00 PM ET

Cleveland has dropped five straight but is in a great spot vs. a Portland team on 0 days rest after a thrilling 118-114 home win over the Sixers last night.

Magic @ Kings (-8.5), O/U 223.5, 10:00 PM ET

Orlando is in a tough spot, already shorthanded and now having to play on the back to back after a close 111-105 loss to Golden State last night.

Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables

Luka Doncic DK $10.9k | FD $11.2k

vs. New Orleans

Get your guaranteed 60 and find some value elsewhere on this huge slate seems to be the approach here. Doncic kills New Orleans, averaging 28.5/12.8/8.5 n four games vs. the Pelicans last season. He's hit 60+ fp in four of the last five vs. Ball and Co.

De' Aaron Fox DK $9k | FD $8.9k

vs. Orlando

Matchups aside, Fox is on a roll right now with 34+ real points and double digit assists in three of his last five. Fox has a matchup with a very banged up Orlando backcourt (Anthony, Mason, Fournier all questionable) that is on the b2b anyways.

Derrick Rose DK $5.3k | FD $5.2k

@ Washington

Could we see a minutes increase for D-Rose in his second game with the Knicks? Rose might actually thrive in this bench role for the Knicks as he scored 14 points in 20 minutes in his debut. It's a great matchup tonight vs. Washington's #29 defense vs. the PG spot while also missing Bradley Beal.

Payton Pritchard DK $3.8k | FD $3.9k

vs. Detroit

Payton Pritchard might have been a value play vs. Detroit anyways, but with Kemba Walker (rest) joining Marcus Smart on the injury list the Celtics backcourt is very thin. Detroit's also on the b2b, and Pritchard is coming off one of his best games going 6-8 from three vs. Toronto. Yep, chalk scratch coming.

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Zion Williamson DK $8k | FD $8k

@Dallas

In two games with the Atlanta Hawks over the last five games, the Mavericks have allowed a 33 and a 35 real point game. It's safe to say Dallas struggles vs. the PF spot (29th to be exact) so enter Zion Williamson, who has gone for 28+ real points in 3 of the last 5.

DeMar DeRozan DK $8k | FD $7.8k

@ Atlanta

DeRozan had just 24 fp last time out, but that was on the back-to-back vs. Golden State. He gets an 18% boost with 2+ days rest and went for 51 fp the last time he had the extra time off. DeRozan had 22/4/4 and 25/9/9 in two matchups with Atlanta last year.

Michael Porter, Jr. DK $6k | FD $5.5k

vs. Oklahoma City

What we need is OKC to keep things close tonight. In his first game since getting a 'talking to' from Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter, Jr. was more selective with his shot and hit 6-10 from the field and 4-7 from three. He was on pace for a huge night and ended up with 38fp, but minutes were limited with Denver leading 64-43 at the half.

Carmelo Anthony DK $5.6k | FD $5.3k

vs. Cleveland

Three Portland starters logged 30+ minutes last night, meaning Carmelo Anthony could be called on for extra time on the b2b. Anthony had 24 off the bench vs. the Sixers, his 4th game in the last 5 with 21+.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Nikola Vucevic DK $9.4k | FD $9.8k

@ Sacramento

There are a couple of reasons to like Nikola Vucevic, even on the back to back tonight. First off, Vucevic has logged 33, 36, and 36 minutes on leg two in three of his last four on 0 days rest, posting 58, 70, and 58 fp. He's also got a matchup with Sacramento, who has allowed 25&17 to Embiid and 50/8/12 to Jokic in two of the last three.

Cody Zeller DK $5.7k | FD $5.2k

vs. Minnesota

Zell's Bells has struggled a bit over the last five games with a ceiling of 34 fp. He did have a stretch of 12+ rebounds in 3 of 4 at the end of January though, and tonight is a litmus test on if he can ever provide value again. Minnesota ranks 30th vs. the C position even (or maybe especially) with KAT in the lineup.

Today's SuperDraft multiplier must-play is De'Aaron Fox at 1.3X. Fox has 54+ fp in 3 of the last 5 and tonight plays a Magic team on the b2b and with basically their entire back court on the injured list.
