Top NBA Plays 2/13|Love & Basketball

The NBA must really want us to spend Valentine's Day watching hoops with our significant others because they've lightened the load with a mini 4-game slate on Saturday (Sixers @ Suns is an early 3:00 ET start) and fire back with 10-games tomorrow.

That's OK though, these deep dives can be fun, especially with a few of the teams on the b2b and 3 of the 5 games with a point spread of 2 or less (the highest is Utah at -5 but on 0 days rest).

Let's see what kind of sweets we can find.

Today's NBA Matchups

Pacers (-1.5) @ Hawks , O/U 226.5, 7:30 PM ET

The Pacers have had four straight games fall under the betting total, holding opponents to under 100 once and scoring below the century mark once themselves. That should change tonight, as Atlanta has allowed 120+ in 3 of their last 5, including a 125-114 loss to the Spurs last night.

Rockets (-1) @ Knicks, O/U 209.5, 8:00 PM ET

The Knicks looked good last night, but a lot of people look good against Washington (playing without Beal). There are few teams where b2b's matter less than Tom Thibodeau coached squads because he thinks load management is saved for semi-truck drivers.

Houston has been held to 101 points or less for three straight.

Nets (-4.5) @ Warriors , O/U 243.5, 8:30 PM ET

If the Warriors only had a healthy center. Brooklyn is already bad vs. the frontcourt (and backcourt) and now Deandre Jordan misses tonight for personal reasons.

Kevin Durant is back though, looking to build on the 41fp vs. his former team earlier in the year even though he played only 25 minutes in a Nets blowout win.

Heat @ Jazz (-5), O/U 217.5, 9:00 PM ET

The Miami defense has held five straight opponents to 103 points or less, a trend that very well may continue as the Jazz come off a big 129-115 win over the Bucks last night.

Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables

Malcolm Brogdon DK $7.5k | FD $7.2k

Brogdawg has been a regular here lately but his price is just too cheap without Oladipo and Levert not active yet. Trae Young can't guard anyone and this game is one of the highest-scoring games on the slate.

Andrew Wiggins DK $6.4k | FD $6.8k

I want exposure to this game, but am having a hard time fitting in the high priced options. So I keep coming back to Wiggins, Oubre, and Green. I like all three of them but Wiggins eligibility at SG/SF keeps bringing me back to him.

Jordan Clarkson DK $5.4k | FD $4.7k

Jordan's Fanduel price is way too low, and I would likely have a decent amount of him on FD. I like him on DK just not as much. His minutes should be 28-30 area which is more than enough to give him a chance to get hot even vs a decent defensive team in MIA.

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

SF is not very good today to I find myself shuffling through Cam Reddish, Juan Toscano- Anderson, Jae'Sean Tate, David Nwaba, and Danuel House. I like Oubre and Butler but will likely pay down If I don't use Butler here. On Fanduel you can add Joe Ingles to the list too. His price is way too cheap on FD.

Juan Toscano-Anderson, DK $4.9k | FD $5.2k

There isn't a ton of really cheap value on this slate outside of Noel, and as I have said before I want to get exposure to this game. This is a cheap way to do it, I am limiting myself to two of JTA, Green, Wiggins, and Oubre in one lineup.

Kevin Durant DK $9.6k | FD $10k

I hate the revenge game narrative but I will be here. He is the Nets stud that I will have the most exposure to. GSW has no size which should help KD in the rebound category and he can shoot over everyone at will.

Domantas Sabonis DK $9k | FD $9.6k

ATL plays at a fast pace and gives up points to the PF. Sabonis has been living this season collecting rebounds and IND will need him to do that desperately with Collins and Capela on the glass for ATL. He is still just too cheap.

Julius Randle DK $8.7k | FD $8.6k

Here is another guy who is too cheap at PF. He has a plus matchup and they lost Mitchell Robinson to injury. I expect Randle to pick up a few more minutes at center today which will help his bottom line. For a guy who has a 60 point ceiling, could be sub 20% owned, and be priced too low... well I have to take that chance. He and Sabonis are the reason I am having a hard time paying up for too many of the studs in the GSW/BKN game.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Nerlens Noel DK $3.9k | FD $4k

Noel produces at a high fantasy point per minute rate and will be thrust into more minutes. He will be chalky, but I will still be here. He has 10x upside and his floor will be about 5x.

Rudy Gobert DK $7.1k | FD $8.6k

ONLY ON DK, at 8.6k I wouldn't touch him, but a 7.1k Price tag is just plain wrong. He has a good history vs MIA even though it looks like a tough matchup on paper.

My Strategy

The ATL/IND and GSW/BKN games are by far the most attractive games, however, the pricing of players in the other games is pretty low. This keeps bringing me to a decent amount of NYK, UTA, and HOU players.

With limited value I am struggling to get the studs in my lineups, so unless more value opens up I will likely be going fairly balanced tonight.
