Top NBA Plays 2/14|Love is in the Air(ball)

This Sunday is for loving, and we can definitely send a Valentine to this 9-game slate. Unfortunately, Kevin LOVE💖 will not be in action today. Neither is Derrick ROSE🌹 and Josh HART is a game time decision. I guess De'Aaron (You're a) Fox is the Valentine's play of the day...

...or maybe Collin Sexton in the 10:00 PM nightcap?

Today's NBA Matchups

Pelicans (-4.5) @ Pistons , O/U 220.5, 7:00 PM ET

The New Orleans defense is reeling right now, giving up 129 points to Chicago on 25-47 from three point range on Wednesday followed by a 143-130 loss to Dallas on Friday. Detroit should be a target here.

Timberwolves @ Raptors (-8), O/U 229.5, 7:00 PM ET

Minnesota has lost four straight, allowing 120+ in each. It should be a good bounce-back game for Toronto, who had a streak of 120+ points scored in five straight snapped in a 120-106 loss to Boston on Thursday.

Lineup Notes: D'Angelo Russell is out, OG Anunoby is a GTD.

Spurs (-2) @ Hornets , O/U 229, 7:00 PM ET

The Spurs are balanced with 7 players scoring 11+ in Friday's win over Atlanta. This game should stay fairly close, as the Hornets have won 3 of the last 4 and the point spread is just a bucket.

Lineup Notes: Lamarcus Aldridge remains out for the Spurs. PJ Washington is doubtful.

Trail Blazers @ Mavs (-5), O/U 236, 7:30 PM ET

Portland has won three straight, including beating Philadelphia on Thursday and a 19 point win over Cleveland on the back to back. Dallas may seem like a strange 5-point favorite, but they've won four straight scoring 127+ in three of them.

Bucks (-11.5) @ Thunder , O/U 228.5, 8:00 PM ET

Not so fast my friend on the Bucks blowout. OKC lost by just 2 points against Denver on Friday, and Milwaukee is in the tough spot of wrapping up a 6-game road trip.

Lineup Notes: Jrue Holiday and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are out.

Magic @ Suns (-10) , O/U 214, 9:00 PM ET

Orlando is extremely banged up but inexplicably dominated Sacramento 123-112 on Friday while even playing on the back to back. Phoenix has gone 5-0 on their current home stand, but are in a tough spot playing in the back to back after a win over the Sixers yesterday.

Grizzlies (-1) @ Kings , O/U 229, 10:00 PM ET

It's a good spot for the Grizzlies, as the Kings allowed 123 points to a very beat up Orlando squad on Friday night.

Lineup Notes: De'Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley both sat out last game. Brandon Clarke is a GTD.

Cavs @ Clippers (-10.5) , O/U 221, 10:00 PM ET

This is very much a 🕯️Blowout Spot🕯️as the Cavs have lost their last two games by a combined 57 points. The Clippers won this matchup 121-99 in Cleveland on February 3rd.

Lineup Notes: Paul George remains out.

Lakers (-3) @ Nuggets , O/U 217, 10:00 PM ET

It's a nice showdown to cap the night off as the Lakers go on the road for the 1st time after a 5-0 home stand. LA won this matchup 114-93 on February 4th.

Lineup Notes: Jamal Murray is a GTD, Will Barton is out.

Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables

Damian Lillard DK $9.6k | FD $9.5k

Lillard is looking like Zach Galifianakis and Robert Downey, Jr. taking a road trip together because his Due Date is here. Lillard has gone for 30+ real points in three of the last five, but only has one 50+ fp night over that span. Enter the Mavs, who Lillard has put up 61, 47, and 34 real points in the last three meetings.

Jamal Murray DK $7.2k | FD $6.5k

Jamal Murray is a GTD after spraining his ankle vs. the Thunder but Monte Morris ($4.2k) is a nice pivot if Murray can't go because you play PGs vs. the Lakers right now. L.A. has allowed 40+ to four straight at the position, and Murray should be able to improve on 34 fp vs. the Lakers 10 days ago with Will Barton out.

Delon Wright DK $6.4k | FD $7.2k

Delon Wright is still a good DK play even though the 🚆40+ Train🚆could possibly come to an end if Frank Jackson and/or Mason Plumlee return to the lineup. Wright has 40+ in 3 of the last 4 thanks to games with 22 points and 7+ assists. The Pelicans were just lit up by the Bulls backcourt and allowed 46/8/12 to Doncic so the matchup is there.

Lou Williams DK $6.3k | FD $6.8k

Williams has a 32fp floor over the last four games. He's still a good DK play because the Clips are in a possible blowout spot as -11.5 home favorites vs. the Cavs and also have a game with the Heat tomorrow to reserve for.

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Lebron James, DK $10.2k | FD $10.4k

James averaged 28/6/11 last year in three games vs. Denver, and he's already posted a 27/10/10 line on the Nuggets (61fp). That was win 3 on a current 7-game win streak that the Lakers will want to push to 8 in what should be a close game.

Chris Boucher DK $6.8k | FD $7.2k

It may turn out that the Timberwolves are better vs. bigs now that KAT is back, but they've also played Serge Ibaka and Cody Zeller the last two. Chris Boucher has at least a dozen real points in five straight, has grabbed double digit rebounds in 3 of the last 4, and also had 5 blocks last time out.

Carmelo Anthony DK $5.7k | FD $5.3k

Great FD pricing for Carmelo, who has become a focal point of the Portland offense. Anthony scored 17 points in the 4th quarter in Thursday's win over Philadelphia, nearly 60% of the teams' total points that frame. the game with Dallas is going to be high scoring with a betting total pushing 240.

Kenrich Williams DK $5.4k | FD $5.5k

They're begging us to stay on the Kenrich Williams train so we will. OKC should keep things close with Milwaukee as the Bucks wrap up a long road trip, and Williams has been great playing a little guard-forward. He scored 24 vs. the Lakers and followed that up with a stat filling 7/11/9 line in a low scoring game vs. Denver. The Bucks game will be higher scoring with a total of 228.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Nikola Vucevic DK $9.8k | FD $9.9k

Nikola Jokic struggles vs. the Lakers, so the spend up play at center tonight seems to be the other Nikola. Orlando doesn't have a lot of scoring options right now with half the team hurt, and thus Vucevic has a couple 42+ real point games to go along with 13+ rebounds in 3 of his last 5. Embiid scored 35 vs. the Suns last night.

Jonas Valanciunas DK $7.4k | FD $7.1k

Valanciunas has a great matchup tonight with a Kings team that just allowed 42 points and 9 boards to Nikola Vucevic on Friday. Joel Embiid had 25 & 17 vs. the Kings the game prior and Nikola Jokic had 50/8/12 vs. Sacramento last week. Those are elite talents, but also $2k to $3k more expensive.
