Top NBA Plays 2/22|Trade Bait
Demarcus Cousins is the latest big man on the trade block, which the Lakers a possible destination. Like Andre Drummond last week, is it safe to consider Cousins off limits now? He's got a great matchup with the Bulls tonight, but why would Houston risk it, especially with the injury history?
Either way, plenty of other ways to pivot on a 6-game slate. The center position does look a little light, but let's see what surfaces:
Today's NBA Matchups
Bulls (-1) @ Rockets , O/U 226.5, 8:00 PM ET
Chicago was able to go for 120+ vs. the Kings on Saturday despite playing on the back to back. The Bulls are faced with somewhat of an opposite position tonight as the Rockets are extremely rested, having not played since last Wednesday due to the Texas storms. That break still hasn't allowed Victor Oladipo to return from a foot injury though.
Grizzlies @ Mavs (-5), O/U 231.5, 8:30 PM ET
Memphis and Dallas have the highest betting total of the night which is somewhat surprising considering both squads have run a bottom 9 pace over the last three games. The Mavs have also posted the worst defensive efficiency in the league over that span, and have allowed 120+ in 5 of 6.
Trail Blazers @ Suns (-6) , O/U 227.5, 9:00 PM ET
Phoenix is clamping down on defense, holding 2 of their last 4 opponents under 100 points. Beal and Westbrook combined for 64 real points in Washington's win over the Trail Blazers on Saturday so the Phoenix backcourt is a target.
Hornets @ Jazz (-12), O/U 229, 9:00 PM ET
Devonte Graham (knee) is likely sitting out again in his 🎁Birthday Game🎁but Terry Rozier has carried the torch just fine with 50+ fp in three straight. Utah has the 2nd best defense in the league though, and in true birthday fashion this game could be a 🕯️Blowout🕯️
Heat (-6.5) @ Thunder, O/U 212, 9:00 PM ET
Miami is favored big tonight, but they are also vulnerable while wrapping up a 7-game road trip West of the Mississippi. Miami also beat the Lakers on Saturday and are ripe for a letdown game, but OKC is also on the b2b.
Wizards @ Lakers (-6.5), O/U 226, 10:00 PM ET
L.A. gets the best pace boost of the night but has also been held under 100 points in back to back games. Washington has quietly put together a 4-game win streak.
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
Devin Booker DK $8.2k | FD $7.7k
vs. Portland
Great pricing for Devin Booker, who has gone for 33/6/7, 23/5/12, and 29/6/9 in his last three games vs. Portland. The Trail Blazers just got lit up by the Washington backcourt on Saturday, and now rank 29th vs. the SG position.
Terry Rozier DK $8.1k | FD $7.3k
@ Utah
The matchup with the Jazz isn't ideal, but Terry Rozier also had a decent 15/5/4 line vs. Utah on February 5th. Rozier is starting now, and he's played tremendously alongside LaMelo Ball, going for 47+ fp in four straight, scoring 33 real points in every one of those games. Ride the wave.
Grayson Allen DK $5.2k | FD $4.7k
@Dallas
Allen has a couple 20+ real point games over the last 10 days, and tonight gets a matchup with a Dallas team that has allowed 120+ in 5 of the last 6. Allen steps into the starting SG spot for Dillon Brooks, and the Mavs have allowed 30+ fp to 3 of the last 4 at the position.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Jae'Sean Tate DK $5.9k | FD $6.5k
vs. Chicago
There's some upside on Jae'Sean Tate tonight, first off because Houston is very rested after not playing since last Wednesday. With Cousins likely on the pine, Tate gets a 3% usage boost and a 7fp increase. Tate has hit 6X in consecutive games,
Kelly Olynyk DK $4.5k | FD $4.4k
@Oklahoma City
Does Kelly Olynyk have an upside against a Thunder team playing on the b2b? It wouldn't be a huge surprise to see Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, etc. have limited minutes as Miami wraps up a long road trip. Olynyk had 22 points and 7 boards playing on the b2b on Thursday and could see similar usage tonight.
Wesley Matthews DK $3.7k | FD $3.7k
vs. Wizards
The Lakers are battling through a bevy of injuries with Dennis Schroder, Anthony Davis, and Kyle Kuzma all in danger of missing tonight's contest. That provides a great opportunity for a tweener like Matthews, who did score 10 points and grabbed 8 boards playing his 2nd highest minute tally of the season on Saturday. Playing Washington's #1 pace and #25 defense doesn't hurt either.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Kristaps Porzingis DK $8.5k | FD $7.9k
vs. Memphis
The betting total in the Mavs Grizzlies game continues to climb, and Porzingis has a great history vs. Memphis going for 32/12 and 26/11 in two games vs. the team last season. It's an up-down-up-down stretch for Porzingis, who went for just 34fp on February 14th, which was Dallas' last game. UPDATE: Porzingis is questionable, make sure he is playing tonight before using him.
Montrezl Harrell DK $5.8k | FD $6.2k
vs. Washington
Harrell and Marc Gasol both have nice upside vs. a Wizards team that just allowed 19 points and 13 boards vs. Enes Kanter on Saturday. Harrell has 32+ fp in 2 of the last 3, and the Lakers could be without Kuzma and Markieff Morris tonight vs. the Wizards top pace and 6th worst defense.
