Top NBA Plays 2/24| ...and the Schedule Makers Taketh

We were expecting some high scores last night as all but one of the betting totals was in the 220s. As a result, 3 of the 18 teams playing last night scored in the 120s (of course).

Does that bode well for high scores tonight - when there are only one three betting totals above 225 in 9 games? Two of those tilts feature the Pacers' and Suns' defenses as well.

Let's see what the implied points capacitor has in store for the Wednesday slate:

Today's NBA Matchups

Warriors @ Pacers (-2) , O/U 231, 7:30 PM ET

GSW battled to an impressive 114-106 win over the Knicks last night, flexing their own defensive muscle. Four starters logged at least 36 minutes for the Warriors though, and playing on the East Coast (midwest) on 0 days rest doesn't seem ideal.

Celtics (-2) @ Hawks, O/U 224.5, 7:30 PM ET

Both Boston and Atlanta suffered heartache last night. The Celtics giving up multiple go-ahead threes to Luka Doncic in the final minute and the Hawks allowing a dunk to Cleveland with :04 left to break the Cavs losing streak. What's the Kemba Walker status on the b2b?

Rockets (-3.5) @ Cavs , O/U 220, 7:30 PM ET

Is this a 🥂Hangover Game🥂for the Cavs after they snapped a 10-game losing streak last night despite having a 1.8% win probability with a little over a minute to play? It's Houston that makes you drink lately, as they're closing in on Cleveland's record having dropped 8 straight of their own.

Raptors @ Heat (-2), O/U 214, 8:00 PM ET

The Heat return home after a 7-game West Coast swing having won three straight. Toronto has gone 4-1 since switching to a small ball lineup, which seems to have worked in holding Joel Embiid to 18 points last night.

Lineup Notes: Kyle Lowry (thumb) is probable, Tyler Herro (hip) questionable.

Timberwolves @ Bulls (-4), O/U 227.5, 8:00 PM ET

Chicago gets a Minnesota team on a back to back after giving up 139 points in Chris Finch's coaching debut. The Bulls have won two straight but are strangely still just -4 favorites at home. 🐀🧀?

Pistons @ Pelicans (-9.5), O/U 222.5, 8:00 PM ET

Detroit is on 0 days rest after a meticulous 105-93 win in Orlando last night. Oddsmakers aren't expecting a great turnaround making the Pelicans nearly double digit favorites. New Orleans has had 2 nights off after beating Boston in OT on Sunday.

Spurs (-1) @ Thunder , O/U 217.5, 8:00 PM ET

San Antonio is 7-3 over their last 10, and seem like they should be favored more as the #5 team in the West playing an OKC squad that is 4-10 at home. The Spurs are hit hard by COVID testing though and will be playing with a skeleton squad.

Hornets @ Suns (-10), O/U 225, 9:00 PM ET

The Suns are big favorites having won 9 of their last 10 games. The Hornets lost by 22 to the Jazz on Monday in their first trip on a West Coast road swing, with Utah going on a 26-2 run at one point.

Lakers @ Jazz (-9), O/U 218.5, 10:00 PM ET

Los Angeles is in a 3-game win streak which will have some troubles subsiding when they visit Salt Lake City where the Jazz are 14-2 on the year. Should Lakers be avoided because they're gonna get blown out, and not be the ones doing the blowing?

Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander DK $8.5k | FD $7.5k

vs. San Antonio

SGA should be able to pull a Cartman and "do what I want" tonight vs. a very depleted Spurs team. San Antonio is missing four back court players, and Gilgeous-Alexander was heating up regardless with 31 and 27 real points the last two, working his way back from injury.

Terry Rozier DK $7.9k | FD $7.3k

@ Phoenix

Great time to jump back on the Terry Train, as ownership should dip after a bad game and a matchup with the Suns top 10 defensive efficiency. Rozier had just 12 points on Monday, but the Hornets were also busy getting pounded by Utah. He had 47+ fp in four games prior and should reap the benefits of Chris Paul trying to teach LaMelo Ball a lesson.

Dejounte Murray DK $7.4| FD $7.5k

@OKC

The Thunder just gave up 42 real points to the Miami backcourt combo of Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson. That bodes well for Dejounte Murray, who had a couple 56+ fp games in his last four before the Spurs 10-day COVID pause. Usage explosion💣 tonight with all the Spurs absences.

Coby White DK $6.5k | FD $5.7k

vs. Minnesota

Coby White is a streaky dude, but the Bulls play a Minnesota team on the back-to-back tonight after allowing 139 to the Bucks last night. Milwaukee's Bryn Forbes hit 5-9 three's last night and Donte DiVincenzo 3-6 so the T'Wolves are struggling to defend the backcourt. White hit 4-7 threes on Monday and grabbed 10 boards as well.

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Domantas Sabonis DK $10.5k | FD $9.9k

vs. Golden State

What is there not to like about Domantas Sabonis tonight? He's coming off a 36/16/10 triple double (OT), an all-star snub, is well rested after the Pacers have had games canceled since last Wednesday, and plays a Golden State team that struggles to defend the post and is on a back to back. Indiana could dominate here and Sabonis gets his minutes restricted - but then just put money on IND -2.

Jayson Tatum DK $9.2k | FD $9.4k

@ Atlanta

The other $pend up $ure thing tonight is Jayson Tatum, possibly playing without Kemba Walker on the b2b. Boston is going to come out angry after dropping two in a row, and Tatum averaged 30/7/6 in two games with the Hawks last week. Now Atlanta is on 0 days rest too.

Jae'Sean Tate DK $6.2k | FD $6.6k

@ Cleveland

We don't often say 'letdown game' for Cleveland, but that's where the Cavs are at after a big last second win to snap a 10-game losing streak. Houston is going small ball from here on out, so bring on the continued usage for Jae'Sean Tate, who has found value with 36, 39, and 32 fp the last three.

Thad Young DK $5.9k | FD $6.6k

vs. Minnesota

It's still hard to trust Minnesota's post defense, although they seem to have improved since KAT has returned. The T'Wolves are on the b2b tonight though, which could lead to a blowout - but the Bulls being favored by just 4 also points to a close game. Thad Young's minutes are hard to predict in this one, but he's been solid lately with 12+ points, 6+ rebounds, and 3+ assists in 5 of 6.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Jarrett Allen DK $7.7k | FD $7.6k

vs. Houston

The Rockets have officially moved on from Demarcus Cousins and Christian Wood is still out, Even the 6'5" PJ Tucker who would be starting at C is a GTD with a quad injury. Enter Jarrett Allen, who has been playing well lately (44+ fp in three straight) up against a Rockets team that just allowed 18 points and 13 boards to Wendell Carter, Jr. on Monday.

Montrezl Harrell DK $6.3k | FD $6.2k

@Utah

Montrezl Harrell is 13th in the NBA over the last five games with 1.32 fppm. He's gone for 18/10 and 26/9 the last two despite not playing more than 23 minutes. Can we please see a minutes boost if the Jazz run away with tonight's game as expected?
