Top NBA Plays 2/26| Getting Back On
A lot of star players are coming off atrocious games last time out. Lebron James (31fp), Jayson Tatum (20fp), Kawhi Leonard (33fp), Paul George (28fp), and Pascal Siakam (13fp) are all looking for big bounce backs.
Is this the perfect time to play these stars - after poor outings - or should they be avoided as it's a sign of a slump? Let's find out on tonight's 9-game slate.
Today's NBA Matchups
Pacers @ Celtics (-2.5) , O/U 219, 7:30 PM ET
Indiana had a week off and still ended up losing 111-107 to the Warriors on Wednesday. Things don't get any easier with a visit to Boston, who gave up 127 to Atlanta last time out when both squads were on the b2b.
Rockets @ Raptors (-8.5), O/U 221, 7:30 PM ET
Houston tries to avoid their 10th straight loss tonight, allowing at least 118 points in 4 of the last 5. Toronto looks like a nice target.
Hawks (-5.5) @ Thunder , O/U 227.5, 8:00 PM ET
OKC is going to try and slow the pace, holding three of the last four opponents to 101 points or less. Atlanta pushed the tempo scoring 127 vs. Boston on Wednesday, but the Celtics defense was also on the back to back.
Kings (-2) @ Pistons, O/U 227.5, 8:00 PM ET
The Kings are definitely a defense to target against, allowing 140 to the Knicks last night, their fourth straight allowing 120+. Detroit though...
Suns (-6.5) @ Bulls, O/U 225.5, 8:00 PM ET
The Bulls getting no love here despite their 3-game win streak and 7-3 record over the last 10. Phoenix just gave up 124 to Charlotte on Wednesday as well.
Jazz (-6.5) @ Heat, O/U 217, 8:00 PM ET
Utah is transcending matchups right now, winning their last two games by a combined 47 points. Perpetual blowout candidates.
Clippers (-6.5) @ Grizzlies , O/U 224.5, 8:00 PM ET
Memphis won this matchup 122-94 last night, so did the Clippers burn up Kawhi Leonard (31:39) and Paul George (28:07) or did the blowout help them?
Trail Blazers @ Lakers (-5), O/U 222, 10:00 PM ET
Portland has had the last two nights off, getting set to face a banged up Lakers squad that just lost by 25 in Utah on Wednesday.
Hornets @ Warriors (-6), O/U 232.5, 10:00 PM ET
Charlotte had a nice bounce back game on Wednesday, beating the Suns 124-121 after losing 132-110 to Utah on Monday. That's still a lot of points allowed though.
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
Damian Lillard DK $10.1k | FD $10.3k
@ Lakers
Lillard's shots have dipped a bit the last two (17,21) but he's been doing a nice job of facilitating overall with double digit assists in 5 of the last 6. L.A. has allowed 40+ fp to four straight PGs making him a must play.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander DK $8.8k | FD $8k
vs. Atlanta
Gilgeous-Alexander has hit 6X this in two of the last three, a trend which should continue against Atlanta's back court defense.
Terry Rozier DK $8.4| FD $7k
@Golden State
Everybody jumping off the Terry Train tonight? He's destroyed lineups the last two games with just 19fp and 25fp. Rozier likes this matchup though, going for 36 real points against the Warriors six days ago and 25/7/7 against them in December of last season.
Dennis Smith, Jr. DK $4.6k | FD $4.9k
vs. Sacramento
Dennis Smith, Jr. is trending up with Delon Wright out of the lineup, posting 26 and 32 fp the last two. He's got a great matchup with the horrible Kings defense that just allowed 18 real points to Derrick Rose and 25 to Immanuel Quickley last night.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Pascal Siakam DK $7.9k | FD $8.8k
vs. Houston
Siakam is an interesting play tonight, eligible at the F spot but also playing C against a team that has also gone small ball in the Rockets. C's have dominated Houston lately, giving up 26&18 to Jarrett Allen, 18 & 13 to Wendell Carter, Jr., and 31/11/9 to Joel Embiid over the last three. Those are traditional bigs, but Siakam should still have a productive night.
Draymond Green DK $6.9k | FD $7.3k
vs. Charlotte
Draymond Green is back on his assist kick, dishing out 12 and 11 the last two while also grabbing 9 boards in both. That's led him to greater than 6X in both, which should continue against Charlotte's 10th worst defense, which is also 28th vs. the PF spot.
Thad Young DK $6k | FD $6.8
vs. Phoenix
The matchup with the Suns isn't ideal, but Thaddeus Young has been hovering around DK 6X in 5 of the last 6 games. He's just a stat filler, scoring double digit points in four straight while having two games with 5+ assists and two with 8+ rebounds.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Enes Kanter DK $6.8k | FD $6.3k
@ Lakers
There's no Anthony Davis and both Kyle Kuzma and Markieff Morris are GTD (per usual). That leaves the Lakers pretty thin upfront as Kanter tries to keep his run of 13+ rebounds in 6 of the last 8 going.
Mason Plumlee DK $6.5k | FD $7k
vs. Sacramento
The Kings aren't playing any defense right now, giving up 120+ in four straight including 149 vs. the Knicks last night. No such thing as too many Pistons tonight, wow that sounds weird.
