Top NBA Plays 2/27|Nice Window
One of the great things about tonight's 7-game NBA slate is that each tilt starts within 1-1/2 of each other, a nice window of start times. Cleveland and Philly tip-off at 7:00 ET and the late game of the night is Dallas at Brooklyn at 8:30 ET.
Does that mean we're completely in the clear of James Harden getting a stomach ache at 8:27 ET and Luka Doncic getting pink eye at 8:29 ET? Of course not, but at least it minimizes the chances.
Today's NBA Matchups
Cavs @ Sixers -11 , O/U 221.5, 7:30 PM ET
Cleveland has played better lately with two straight wins, but there's still 🕯️Blowout Potential🕯️after the Cavs had dropped 10 straight prior. The Sixers are 14-2 at home.
Timberwolves @ Wizards -4, O/U 237, 7:00 PM ET
Nice target game here with two of the top 4 teams in tempo as well as bottom 8 in defensive efficiency. The Wolves have allowed 130+ points in both games under new coach Chris Finch.
Pacers (-1.5) @ Knicks , O/U 218, 8:00 PM ET
New York dropped 140 on Thursday, but that was probably more of a byproduct of playing Sacramento than the sign of an offensive resurgence. Then again, the Pacers are on the b2b after a tough loss at Boston last night.
Lineup Notes; Elfrid Payton and Austin Rivers are questionable.
Jazz (-10.5) @ Magic, O/U 221.5, 8:00 PM ET
Oddsmakers aren't giving the Magic much of a shot here, but the Jazz are on the back to back after a 124-116 loss in Miami last night. Orlando hasn't broken 100 in the last two games.
Pelicans (-2.5) @ Spurs, O/U 232.5, 8:00 PM ET
Somewhat of a surprisingly high betting total here, but the Pelicans have put up 120+ in five of their last six, The shorthanded Spurs have been off since Wednesday, where they did put up a fight 102-99 loss to OKC. That was San Antonio's first game in 10 days due to a COVID pause.
Nuggets (-7) @ Thunder, O/U 220.5, 8:00 PM ET
Denver is just 2-4 over their last 6, but is there still 🕯️Blowout Potential🕯️vs. the Thunder? OKC struggled against the skeleton crew of the Spurs on Wednesday and is on the b2b after beating Atlanta last night.
Mavs @ Nets (-4) , O/U 236, 8:30 PM ET
Dallas went on the road for the first time in 2-1/2 weeks on Thursday, falling 111-97 in Philadelphia. Does a similar fate await against the Nets, who have won eight straight games?
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
James Harden DK $11k | FD $10.9k
vs. Dallas
Seems like a bounce back spot for James Harden, who had just 20/7/9 (43fp) vs. Orlando. That's going to happen when you win by almost 40. 6X seems doable even at this price as the Mavs have the 5th worst defensive efficiency in the league.
Jamal Murray DK $8.8k | FD $8.7k
@ Oklahoma City
Denver is just 2-4 over their last six, which is why Jamal Murray is somewhat quietly been flying under the radar of playing some really good basketball. Murray has 24+ real points in each of those games and has hit 50+ fp in four of the last five. The Nuggets have the highest pace boost of the night and play the Thunder who are on the b2b.
Theo Maledon DK $4.9k | FD $4.3k
vs. Denver
Maledon dished out 12 assists last night en route to 40fp. That could easily be a byproduct of playing the Hawks, but Denver has had their share of back court defensive struggles as well, giving up 34fp off the bench to Washington's Raul Neto last time out.
Immanuel Quickley DK $4.8| FD $5.5k
vs. Indiana
Quickley's favorite boy band has to be O-Town, because you really get it "all or nothing at all" with the Knicks guard. It's not his fault, apparently, it's mandatory for Knicks coaches to pull minutes at random (David Fizdale) and Quickley has played 9, 13, and 20 the last three games.
The 20 minutes came in a blowout win, but Indiana may have their struggles on 0 days rest after playing Boston last night. Elfrid Payton is another GTD too.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Zion Williamson DK $8.9k | FD $8.8k
@ San Antonio
Williamson is going to give you in the 45-55fp range every game, or at least in 7 of the last 8. No reason to think that doesn't continue with a Spurs team still missing five players on the COVID list.
Rui Hachimura DK $5.8k | FD $5.8k
vs. Minnesota
You'd think Hachimura would hover right around the 5.5-6X range tonight in what should be a fast-paced game against the Timberwolves. Hachimura had 20/5/2 playing without Davis Bertans on Wednesday (GTD) and plays a Minnesota team that is 27th dVp against the PF.
Bruce Brown DK $4.9k | FD $5.3
vs. Dallas
It looks like Bruce Brown went into a rut last game with just 28fp, but that was actually meeting his projection even in a 37 point win over Orlando. Brown had a couple of great games prior to that (34 and 40fp) which should continue if Dallas stays competitive.
Dwayne Bacon DK $3.6k | FD $3.8
vs. Utah
There's upside on 🥓Bacon🥓expected to see minutes increase, if not start, for the injured James Ennis. Bacon is a launcher and plays the Jazz who are on the back to back.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Karl-Anthony Towns DK $10.1k | FD $9.7k
@ Washington
Joel Embiid is in a potential blowout spot vs. Cleveland, so is Nikola Jokic playing OKC who is on 0 days rest. That gives great value for Towns in the game with the highest betting total of the night and against a Washington team that is 29th dVp against the C.
KAT also gets a 7.65% usage and 16.53 fp increase when Malik Beasley isn't on the court - which he won't be following a suspension for an assault rifle incident.
Steven Adams DK $5.3k | FD $5.9k
@ San Antonio
Adams has been pounding the glass in his last two games since returning from injury, grabbing 15 boards vs. Detroit and 13 vs. the Bucks. He gets a shorthanded Spurs team tonight that 25th in rebound rate as it is.
