Top NBA Plays 2/6| Back to Back Back to Backs
We've got a few more of the back-to-back back-to-backs where a team plays each other consecutively on consecutive nights. It's been a little awkward to strategize those games, take Nikola Vucevic who had 78fp last night for example. Do you ride him again because it's a favorable matchup vs. the Bulls, or does Chicago game plan to not let one man beat them again?
It's an 11-game Saturday card, but two of those are knocked out for early starts (Portland @ New York 1:00 PM ET and Denver @ Sacramento 5:00 ET). That's still 9-games to attack - so let's do it.
Today's NBA Matchups
Bulls (-1) @ Magic , O/U 223.5, 7:00 PM ET
Chicago had no answer for Vucevic last night as he pumped in 43 points and grabbed 19 boards. Lauri Markkanen (shoulder) has found himself on the injury report for the rematch.
Nets @ Sixers (-2.5), O/U 237.5, 7:00 PM ET
Kevin Durant did not travel with the Nets (health and safety) and Kyrie Irving is out with a finger injury. Did somebody say Harden SZN? Ben Simmons (calf) is questionable tonight after missing Thursday's game.
Bucks (-10.5) @ Cavs , O/U 227, 8:00 PM ET
Cleveland avoids a blowout really until getting outscored by 13 in last night's 123-105 loss to the Bucks. Andre Drummond sat out the 2nd leg of the Cavs back-to-back last weekend.
Spurs @ Rockets (-1.5), O/U 222.5, 8:00 PM ET
The Rockets are just slight favorites here mostly because they are banged up. John Wall is a GTD and Christian Wood is out indefinitely with an ankle injury.
Raptors (-5) @ Hawks, O/U 222, 8:00 PM ET
Toronto is favored despite being on the back to back after a 123-117 win at Brooklyn last night. Atlanta got dominated 112-91 vs. Utah on Thursday and could be without Trae Young who is questionable with a calf injury.
Timberwolves (-1) @ Thunder, O/U 218.5, 8:00 PM ET
Minnesota will try to do the unthinkable and pick up a second straight road win. The T'Wolves were able to beat OKC 106-103 last night mainly because Shai Gilbeous-Alexander and Lu Dort continue to battle injuries.
Warriors @ Mavs (-4), O/U 231, 8:30 PM ET
GSW ended up running away with this one 147-116 on Thursday behind 40 real points from Kelly Oubre, Jr. The Warriors are very short in the frontcourt and Kristaps Porzingis scored 25 points in 25 minutes.
Grizzlies @ Pelicans (-1.5), O/U 227.5,9:00 PM ET
Memphis had won 7 in a row but now find themselves on a 2-game losing streak. That's good for New Orleans who has won 4 of their last 6.
PIstons @ Lakers (-13.5), O/U 217.5,10:00 PM ET
Very high possibility of a 🕯️Blowout Game🕯️here as Detroit wraps up their West Coast road trip and on the back to back after losing by 17 to the Suns last night.
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
James Harden DK $10.7k | FD $10.8k
@ Philadelphia
We get a retro James Harden night with KD in contact tracing and Kyrie Irving out with an injury. He did log 40 minutes yesterday, but hopefully, that drives ownership down because the shots are going to be launching, even with a less-than-ideal matchup with Philadelphia.
Zach LaVine DK $8.6k | FD $8.5k
@Orlando
LaVine had 26 points and 8 assists last night vs. Orlando even after a slow start. The Magic are 28th vs. the SG and gave up the big 🍔70 Burger🍔to Fred VanVleet on Tuesday. LaVine gets a 7% usage and 20+ fp boost if Lauri Markkanen sits.
Eric Gordon DK $5.8k | FD $56k
vs. San Antonio
Gordon has taken 15 and 18 shots the last two games, a trend that should continue as he gets a 7.47% usage increase if John Wall joins Christian Wood on the bench.
Rajon Rondo DK $4.1k | FD $4.3k
vs. Toronto
Rajon Rondo shot 0-7 from the floor on Thursday and still finished with a respectable 20fp considering. He could see an increase in playing time tonight with Trae Young a bit banged up and the Hawks get a Toronto team on the b2b after an exhausting game with Brooklyn last night.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Kristaps Porzingis DK $8.2k | FD $7.8k
vs. Golden State
The Warriors handing Dallas a beatdown Thursday actually helps Porzingis' value for tonight as he logged just 25 minutes, down from his 30.1 average and 34 in the two games prior. Porzingis still had 42fp, and should be able to dominate again against a very undersized Golden State frontcourt.
Thaddeus Young DK $6.6k | FD $6.4k
@Orlando
Thad Young logged 32 minutes last night, but he should be out there again a lot tonight with Lauri Markkanen possibly missing this game. Young has become a 35fp floor player but has upside with Markkanen out.
Chris Boucher DK $4.4k | FD $4.7k
@ Atlanta
A lot of Raptors players logged heavy minutes last night at Brooklyn but Chris Boucher had a manageable 27. That should leave him fresh for a visit to Atlanta, trying to put together two consecutive good games (30+ fp) for the first time since mid-January.
Juan Toscano-Anderson DK $5.4k | FD $5.4k
at Dallas
Steve Kerr has found himself a real efficient contributor as Juan Toscano-Anderson has shot 6-8 and 6-9 in his two games with extended action and grabbed 8 boards and dished out 5 assists Thursday vs. the Mavs.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Nikola Vucevic DK $8.9k | FD $8.8k
vs. Chicago
78fp is a lot to ask for again - but is it? Chicago has no interior defense and in Vucevic's last two back enders on 0 days rest he's posted 70fp and 58fp. Vucevic looked like a high schooler playing with 6th graders last night.
Demarcus Cousins DK $6.3k | FD $5.9k
vs. San Antonio
It would be tempting to go back to Al Horford vs. Minnesota here, but the last time Christian Wood was out for Houston, Demarcus Cousins did some very big things. Cousins went for 50+ a couple of those games in late January and has a solid matchup with a Spurs team missing Lamarcus Aldridge.
