Top NBA Plays 2/7 | The Aftermath of the Trade Deadline
Teams have made their moves for the 2nd half of the season after yesterday's NBA trade deadline. It might be a rough couple days for DFS as we still sort out exactly who plays where now and what their new roles will be. As always, everybody is in the same boat so let's see how this 8-game Friday slate shakes out.
Tonight's DFS Headlines
Grizzlies @ 76ers
The Sixers made some moves at the trade deadline adding Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson (neither will play tonight). They need to do something to halt a 4-game losing skid and being on the back-to-back vs. a Memphis team that has won 13 of 16 doesn't help.
Mavs @ Wizards
Kristaps Porzingis might be the Masked Winger in this one after breaking his nose Wednesday vs. the Grizzlies but returning in the 4th. He has 32+ real points in 3 straight and wants to get on the court vs. a Washington defense that gave up 125 to Golden State their last game.
Hawks @ Celtics
These two teams just met on Monday with Boston scoring a 123-115 win in Atlanta. The C's are on a 5-game win streak and should get Kemba Walker (knee) and Marcus Smart (thigh) back right when they possibly lose Gordon Hayward (foot).
Raptors @ Pacers
Toronto pulled out a 119-118 win at home over the Pacers on Wednesday and will try to complete the home-and-home to get their 13th consecutive win.
Pistons @ Thunder
Detroit was playing NBA2K season mode yesterday and got bored and traded Andre Drummond to the Cavs randomly. The new look Pistons are going to be very vacant in the middle now and OKC is in a 💣Blowout Game 💣spot right away as -12.5 favorites.
Rockets @ Suns
Houston knew they were also going to be a bit thin in the post after trading Clint Capela. That was evident right away as Anthony Davis went for 32 points and 13 rebounds last night albeit in a Rockets win. Now Houston must play on the back to back and face a streaking Deandre Ayton on the blocks. Russell Westbrook will also be Russell Rest-Brook tonight and sit out.
Heat @ Kings
Make sure to check the LineStar lineup optimizer for this game as Miami acquired Jae Crowder and Andre Iguodala at the trade deadline but are unlikely to play tonight. Jimmy Butler is also expected to be out after injuring his shoulder Wednesday. Sacramento also made some deadline moves, picking up two hurt players in Jabari Parker (shoulder) and Alex Len (hip).
Trail Blazers @ Jazz
Utah has dropped 5 in a row, including last Saturday to Portland when Damian Lillard dropped 51 real points. Utah's once stout defense has allowed 124+ points in 3 of the 5 losses and also lost 98-95 on Wednesday to a Nuggets team playing on the back-to-back and with just 7 available players.
Guards
Devin Booker DK $7.9k | FD $8.2k
Under $8k for Devin Booker in a game against Houston's back court defense that is also on the back-to-back? OK. Deandre Ayton is also a nice play against Houston's new (and improved?) front court but Booker is ready for a bounce back after a couple down games. He had 32+ real points in 4 of 5 but is averaging just 16.5 the last two. It's a good price and a good matchup here.
Dennis Schroder DK $6.8k | FD $6.9k
The Pistons have waved the white flag on the season which bodes well for Dennis Schroder to continue his run of recent success tonight. Schroder has been Mr. Consistent as of late with a 43 fp floor in 5 of the last 7. His ceiling has been just 49 over that span but that's still a great opportunity for at least 6X. The Pistons are 15th dVp against the SG, but have virtually no inside presence after trading away Andre Drummond.
Mike Conley DK $5.4k | FD $5.2k
Great price on Mike Conley tonight as he has seemingly found his groove within the Utah offense - over the last two games that is. Conley has seen an increase in playing time with 30+ minutes the last two and has responded with 20+ real points in both. One of those games was against Portland on February 1st when Conley had 22/4/4 for a 35fp night which is 6X this price. That was in Portland too, so Conley should be better back home where he had a 21/8/5 outing vs. Denver Wednesday.
Forwards
Danuel House DK $5.3k | FD $5.6k
Houston will be on the back-to-back tonight but also without Russell Westbrook. Danuel House should be on the fresher side after playing just 27:55 last night. When the Rockets played on a back-to-back on January 27th, House logged 45 minutes scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Is that the usage strategy Mike D'Antoni plays on 0 days rest moving forward? It's worth to find out at $5.3k.
Tim Hardaway, Jr. DK $5.2k | FD $4.9k
Still no Luka Doncic for the Mavs and Kristaps Porzingis is going to be an interesting play after breaking his nose on Wednesday. That should bode well for another big game for Tim Hardaway, Jr. who is in a great matchup vs. a Washington defense that has given up 152, 151, and 125 points in 3 of their last 5 games. Hardaway has had a couple upside games lately, including a 25/4/5 line Monday against a good Pacers defense. Washington is 25th dVp against the SF spot.
Jaren Jackson, Jr. DK $6.1k | FD $6.4k
It's about time for a ceiling game from Jaren Jackson, Jr. as the Grizzlies visit the Sixers who are playing on the back-to-back. Embiid and Horford both logged 33 minutes in the front court last night vs. Milwaukee while Tobias Harris saw 38 minutes vs. the Bucks. Usage should be low as Philadelphia is a top 3 defense vs. the PF position - but that's when fresh.
Center
Bam Adebayo DK $8.2k | FD $8k
The Kings are #1 defensively vs. the C position, but with Dewayne Dedmon being traded and Marvin Bagley III injured, Sacramento is going to be a bit thin on the front court until the newly acquired Alex Len returns from injury. Combine that with Jimmy Butler (shoulder), Meyers Leonard (ankle), and Tyler Herro (foot) also being out for the Heat it's a huge boost for Bam Adebayo. The all-star has double digit rebounds in 4 of the last 5 and even dished out 11 dimes on Monday vs. Philadelphia.

🔥 SuperDraft Multiplier Must-Play
Today's SuperDraft multiplier must-play is Bam Adebayo. The Heat are a bit thin with injuries and have a good matchup with Sacramento who is also a bit shorthanded on the front court. Adebayo has double digit rebounds in 4 of 5 and has also seen a nice assist uptick lately.
