Top NBA Plays 2/7| National Holiday
Maybe if you're a Chiefs fan you step away from the sportsbook window for a bit, but for the rest of us, pro hoops gets all the attention now that football season is over. What better way to signal in the unofficial start of the NBA season than an 8-game Monday Madness?
We've got potential blowouts in OKC at the Lakers, Minnesota at Dallas, and Cleveland at Phoenix, but also a great Milwaukee at Denver matchup as well as what is expected to be close Washington at Chicago and Golden State at San Antonio meetings. Let's get it.
Today's NBA Matchups
Rockets (-2.5) @ Hornets , O/U 221.5, 7:00 PM ET
Tough game to call with two balanced teams but Charlotte does rank 27th vs. the PG spot and is on the back-to-back although it was an easy 22 point win over Washington yesterday.
Raptors (-2.5) @ Grizzlies, O/U 224.5, 8:00 PM ET
Toronto could be a team to target against after allowing 132 points in a loss to Atlanta on Saturday although that was on the back-to-back after a tough win in Brooklyn the night before. Memphis is in a Tom Petty inspired free fall after losing their last three following a 7-game win streak.
Wizards @ Bulls (-2.5) , O/U 236.5, 8:00 PM ET
A good target game with a betting total in the 230s, with Washington on the back-to-back. The Wiz have the second worst defense in the league, and Russ Westbrook usually sits in these spots.
Warriors @ Spurs (-1), O/U 236.5, 8:00 PM ET
GSW has put up 147 and 132 points their last two games thanks to a 40 real point game from Kelly Oubre, Jr. and Steph Curry dropping 57 (75fp) Saturday vs. Dallas. The Spurs allowed an average of 131 points in a two game series with Memphis last weekend.
Timberwolves @ Mavs (-9.5), O/U 224.5, 8:30 PM ET
If Minnesota wasn't so bad they'd be a nice target here. Dallas has fallen to the 5th worst defense in the league and has allowed 5 PGs in perfect lineups the last month. Minnesota is as bad vs. the frontcourt as Dallas is in the backcourt, and Kristaps Porzingis had 38 & 13 when these teams met up last March.
Cavs @ Suns (-7), O/U 216, 9:00 PM ET
🕯️Blowout Game?🕯️The Cavs have lost their last three by at least 18 points, but Phoenix is on the back-to-back. Should be a low scoring affair either way.
Bucks (-4.5) @ Nuggets, O/U 230.5, 9:30 PM ET
The Bucks are banging so far in February, going 4-0 with their closest game being an 18 point win over the Cavs. Denver has dropped their last two, to the Lakers last Thursday and the Kings on Saturday.
Thunder @ Lakers (-11), O/U 216,10:00 PM ET
OKC had a couple of tough battles with Minnesota over the weekend, splitting a two game series that was decided by a total of 5 points. The Lakers had to go to OT with Detroit on Saturday as -14 point favorites though so don't instantly count this one as a 🕯️Blowout Game🕯️
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
D'Angelo Russell DK $7.3k | FD $7.5k
@ Dallas
D'Angelo Russell is on the injury report with a quad issue that caused him to miss Saturday's game, but if he goes it's a great spot vs. Dallas. The Mavs have a floor of 40fp allowed to the last five PGs which includes 57 real points from Steph Curry on Saturday as well as 34/9/9 and 23/3/12 in consecutive games vs. Chris Paul. PGs are humbling Luka right now.
Dillon Brooks DK $5.3k | FD $4.7k
vs. Toronto
Nobody who ever rosters Dillon Brooks feels comfortable with it, but there's much higher FD prices for a guy who launched 17 times in 28 minutes on Saturday. Granted he only hit 4 of them, but it was the second time in the last three games with 17+ attempts which should only continue with Brandon Clarke and De'Anthony Melton out for Memphis tonight.
Tomas Satoransky DK $4k | FD $3.9k
vs. Washington
There's no such thing as too many Bulls tonight, especially with Markkanen now out against a bad Washington team on the back-to-back. Satoransky only had 10/6/2 vs. his former team on December 29th but went for 30+ fp in all four games vs. the Wizards last season.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope DK $3.7k | FD $3.6k
vs. OKC
This feels like a night where whichever of the KCP / Dennis Schroeder / Kyle Kuzma trio you don't take is going to go off. The easy choices are Schroeder vs. his old team or Kuzma with Anthony Davis out which is why Caldwell-Pope is a nice low ownership contrarian play. L.A. should annihilate the Thunder, a team that has allowed 30+ fp to five straight SGs.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Khris Middleton DK $7.5k | FD $7.2k
@Denver
Time for a 'get right' game for Middleton, who has been held to 30 fp or less in four of the last five. It's going to be a battle with Denver tonight, and for whatever reason, the Nugs struggle vs. the SF spot, giving up 28/7/4 to Harrison Barnes on Saturday, 29 real points to Bojan Bogdanovic, 30 points, and 10 assists to DeMar DeRozan, and the obligatory 27/10/10 to Lebron over the last four games.
Chris Boucher DK $5.4k | FD $5.4k
@Memphis
Chris Boucher is a streaky dude, but when you ride the tide he's 💰. That's where we're at here after 17/9 and 29/10 the last two games up against a Memphis team missing Brandon Clarke and with Jonas Valanciunas on a minutes restriction.
Patrick Williams DK $5.1k | FD $4.5k
vs. Washington
Great FD pricing for Patrick Williams, who will be starting once again for Lauri Markkanen. Williams had a nice little weekend in Orlando, going for 20/7 and 16/10 while playing 32+ minutes the last three games. Meeting a Washington team that has allowed at least 119 in 4 of the last 5 and is also on the b2b never hurts either.
Cameron Johnson DK $5k | FD $4.2k
vs. Cleveland
I'm calling the first 30+ fp night of the year for Cam Johnson. He has 14/6 and 17/5 playing with the 2nd unit the last two games; better production than when he was starting. Phoenix is also on the back-to-back and is in a blowout spot vs. the Cavs so it's Cam the Blam time.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Nikola Jokic DK $11.1k | FD $11.6k
vs. Milwaukee
Nikola Jokic is projected for nearly 6X tonight (61) and why not after he has scored 47 and 50 real points in two of the last three games. Saturday's 50/8/12 line came with Jamal Murray (GTD) out of the lineup which gives Jokic an 11% usage boost and he was already high at 29%.
Kristaps Porzingis DK $8.4k | FD $8.1k
vs. Minnesota
If Jakob Poeltl can get 40fp vs. Minnesota and Al Horford can push 60fp then there's no excuse for Kristaps Porzingis not having a ceiling game tonight. He had 38 & 13 vs. the T'Wolves last March for 75 fp and will miss Karl-Anthony Towns yet again.
Naz Reid DK $6k | FD $6.1k
@ Dallas
There's definitely 6X upside on Naz Reid because as bad as the T'Wolves are in the post the Mavs are right there with them in futility, ranking 29th vs. the C the last five games. Dallas just gave up a 48fp game to Draymond Green playing undersized at the C spot despite the fact he was just 0/2 from the field. That's hashtag upside for Reid who took 21 shots on Saturday vs. OKC.

🔥 SuperDraft Multiplier Must-Play
Today's SuperDraft multiplier must-play is Bradley Beal at 1.2x. The fact that Washington is just a +2.5 underdog despite being on the back-to-back is fishy. That can only mean that Bradley Beal explodes vs. the Bulls.
