Top NBA Plays 2/9| Close Calls
It's a 7-game slate for Tuesday's NBA action which should feature some pretty competitive games. The largest point spread is just 6.5 points in the Nets at Pistons game. That puts all the games in play, except for maybe the Knicks at Heat, which is projected to be excruciatingly low scoring with a total of just 207. Let's get it:
Today's NBA Matchups
Nets (-6.5) @ Pistons , O/U 229.5, 7:00 PM ET
Kevin Durant (health and safety) is still out for Brooklyn, but Kyrie Irving is slated to return from a finger injury. Detroit played the Lakers tough in an OT loss on Saturday and should keep things close after having the last two nights off.
Knicks @ Heat (-6), O/U 207.5, 7:30 PM ET
Derrick Rose is in Miami with New York but his status is not clear after being traded from Detroit over the weekend. The teams played to a 109-103 Heat win on Sunday as Bam Adebayo (50fp) and Julius Randle (56fp) battled it out.
Rockets @ Pelicans (-5.5) , O/U 225, 7:30 PM ET
Houston is on 0 days rest but should be relatively fresh after getting dominated 119-94 at Charlotte last night. That usually means Victor Oladipo sits and he did log 34 minutes yesterday in a game John Wall sat out.
Warriors @ Spurs (-1), O/U 230, 8:30 PM ET
It's a double back to back for the Warriors and Spurs after San Antonio won 105-100 last night. Four Golden State starters logged 35+ minutes last night so the Spurs being just 1 point favorites is a bit strange.
One last look at last yesterday's game before round two with the Spurs tonight.

Celtics @ Jazz (-5.5), O/U 220, 10:00 PM ET
Boston is wrapping up a 5-game West Coast road trip tonight, which often leads to a 🎆Dud Game🎆. That could especially be true with Jaylen Brown joining Marcus Smart on the injury report against a Jazz team that is 9-2 at home.
Magic @ Trail Blazers (-6), O/U 221, 10:00 PM ET
Orlando has had two nights off to build on their split with Chicago, a 123-119 win and a 118-92 loss. The Magic have now allowed 115+ points in six straight and are starting to get really thin with Evan Fournier (back) joining a slew of players on the injury list.
Sixers (-5) @ Kings, O/U 230, 10:00 PM ET
Philadelphia is an interesting 5-point favorite here as they are just 6-5 on the road to go with an 11-2 home record. The Kings have also won four straight, including the last three against Boston, Denver, and the Clippers.
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
Damian Lillard DK $10k | FD $9.8k
vs. Orlando
Gotta think it's a ceiling opportunity for Lillard up against a struggling Orlando defense. Lillard had just 36 fp vs. Milwaukee but that was in a blowout and followed that up with 44fp vs. Washington on the back to back. His 57 fp last time out came against a good Knicks defense so the sky's the limit vs. the Magic #23 defensive efficiency.
Jordan Clarkson DK $6k | FD $5k
vs. Boston
The Celtics could easily have an 🍳Egg Game🍳as they wrap up a 5-game West Coast swing. Boston being without their best backcourt defender in Marcus Smart (as well as possibly Jaylen Brown) helps the Jordan Clarkson / blowout game value here. Mike Conley is also out a 2nd straight game with a hamstring injury.
Cole Anthony DK $5.9k | FD $5.4k
@ Portland
Cole Anthony took his most shots (16) in the last game on Saturday as Evan Fournier joined the long list of walking wounded for Orlando. It's ceiling time as Portland ranks 27th vs. the PG position, allowing 22 real points to Elfrid Payton and Jrue Holiday and a triple double to Russ Westbrook over the last four.
Dwayne Bacon DK $4.1k | FD $4.1k
@ Portland
Any time is a good time for 🥓Bacon🥓but especially with Evan Fournier out of the lineup for Orlando. Dewayne Bacon moves into the starting SG spot for Fournier, and broke 30+ minutes for the second time this season. He's taken 14 shots in both of those games, making 6X possible as Portland is 30th vs. the SG position.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Julius Randle DK $9.1k | FD $9k
@Miami
Knicks/Heat is supposed to be lower scoring, but Julius Randle still managed to get his with 26/13/7 in Sunday's 109-103 loss. Randle has a 20+ point double-double in 4 of the last 5, giving him a 44fp floor over that span.
Jerami Grant DK $7k | FD $7.8k
vs. Brooklyn
Detroit has been hit by injuries, COVID, and now the Derrick Rose trade which leaves them very thin vs. the Nets' 2nd worse scoring defense in a game with a betting total approaching 230. Jerami Grant has a 20+ fp scoring boost without Okafor, Wright, Ellington, Jackson, and now Rose. 6X is very doable.
Harrison Barnes DK $6.4k | FD $6.9k
vs. Philadelphia
The Sixers have the #4 defense in the NBA, but tonight's betting total is still up there at 230. The three times Harrison Barnes has dipped below 40fp the last 8 games have been off a 5-day break for COVID postponements and on the back end of two back-to-backs. Philly can be gotten to at the SF spot, allowing 22/4/5 to Carmelo and 22/6/9 to Gordon Hayward over the last three.
Reggie Bullock DK $4.4k | FD $3.7k
@ Miami
This is a full on chase play, but 3.7K isn't bad pricing for a guy who launched it 17 times vs. the Heat on Sunday finishing with 21 points. Bullock likes playing the Heat for whatever reason, going for 29+ fp the last two, and 25+ the last four.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Joel Embiid DK $10.5k | FD $10.6k
@ Sacramento
Embiid has scored 33+ real points in four straight games, a trend that should continue against a Sacramento squad that allowed a 🍔50 Burger🍔to go along with 8 boards and 12 assists to Nikola Jokic on Saturday, pushing 90fp.
Mason Plumlee DK $5.8k | FD $5.7k
vs. Brooklyn
The Nets have buckled down a bit against the C position, but they've also had a run of facing Robin Lopez, Serge Ibaka, and Aron Baynes. Overall Brooklyn still ranks 27th vs. the C, giving Mason Plumlee a great matchup in trying to go for a third 40+ fp night in the last four.

🔥 SuperDraft Multiplier Must-Play
Today's SuperDraft multiplier must-play is Joel Embiid at 1.05X. The multiplier isn't there, but Sacramento gave up nearly 90fp to Nikola Jokic at the C position on Saturday.
