Top NBA Plays 3/1 | Home Stretch for the Regular Season

March 1st means we're on the home stretch for the NBA regular season, which wraps up in a little over a month on April 10th. Some teams are jockeying for a playoff spot, others are not so subtlety tanking, and then there are the squads stuck in no man's land of out of playoffs but with minimal chances at a top pick. Obviously those scenarios will all affect DFS lineups so let's sort teams into piles on this 7-game Friday card.

Tonight's Headline Games

There are a ton of points projected in the Clippers / Kings games with an O/U of 239.5.

The Bucks are visiting the Lakers two nights after going toe-to-toe with Sacramento in a 141-140 win.

Portland is on a nice run with five straight wins. Does that streak come to an end in Toronto as the Blazers play their 5th straight road game?

Oddsmakers are also expecting a high scoring affair when the Pelicans visit the Suns (O/U 237.5). Speaking of those tanking teams, the Suns are definitely that.

On paper, Milwaukee players are in for a huge night at the Staples Center

Guards

Jeremy Lamb (DK: $5,300 FD: $6,400 Y! $20) Ownership: 7%

Jeremy Lamb put up Kemba Walker-like numbers on Wednesday but at about $3,000 less. Lamb has thrived coming off the bench as Nicholas Batum gets the nod at the starting SG spot. He's scored at least 16 points in 5 of the last 7 and hit the boards for 14 rebounds vs. the Rockets. The Hornets G had his worst game of the stretch against Friday's opponent, the Nets, on 2/23, scoring just 4 points in 19 minutes. A bounce back is in order.

Trae Young (DK: $8,100 FD: $8,800 Y! $34) Ownership 9.94%

We're starting to see college version Trae Young as he has attempted 23+ field goals in 3 of the last 4 games. The rookie has scored 62 and 51 fantasy points the last two contests and has a very favorable matchup vs. Chicago on Friday. There's no reason to think Young stops launching in this one, as Atlanta is, for all intents and purposes, out of the postseason race - time to compile!

Kris Dunn (DK: $5,500, FD; $6,000 Y!:$17 ) Ownership 1.2%

If you're going to talk about Trae Young's offense - you also have to bring up his defense...or lack thereof. In the past four games Atlanta has allowed three 42+ fantasy point nights. The Hawks are 30th defensively vs. the PG position on the season as well. Kris Dunn gets the opportunity to go up to Atlanta tonight and he's got to turn things around here. Dunn has HIGHLY underachieved in 4 of the past 5 games, but he did log 31 minutes last game and had 26 points even while dealing with a migraine. He'll give Young the headache tonight.

Dunn should exceed projections vs. Atlanta on Friday

Forwards

Kyle Kuzma (DK: $6,300 FD: $7,000 Y! $26) Ownership 17.4%

The Lakers host Milwaukee tonight, a game after the Bucks allowed 140 points to the Kings (OT). It should be another up-pace game as both LA and Milwaukee are in the top 6 in possessions per game. That will lead to a big night for Kyle Kuzma, who has scored at least 31 fantasy points in seven straight games. You hope for a better ceiling game, as Kuzma hasn't broken 40 fp in six games, but the potential will be there.

Kuzma has been steady, but a little more than that would be great Friday.

Harrison Barnes (DK: $5,100 FD: $5,600 Y!: $20) Ownership 6.24%

Marvin Bagley III had been playing really well for Sacramento but he injured his knee vs. Milwaukee and will be out a couple weeks. The Kings are just 2 GB from the 8 seed in the West and they can do some damage Friday vs. the team they are chasing, the Clippers. This means Harrison Barnes should continue to have big usage, as he played 41 minutes Wednesday. Barnes had at least 11 shots in four of the last five and he even grabbed 14 boards the last game.

Julius Randle (DK: $8,000, FD: $8,800 Y! $32) Ownership 14.32%

If Kelly Olynyk put up 49 fantasy points vs. the Suns on Wednesday, what does Julius Randle have in store on Friday? Randle has put up back-to-back 50+ point fantasy nights and is averaging 20 field goal attempts. Anthony Davis has a legit minutes restriction and Randle is seeing nice minutes as a result, logging 40, 34, and 38 the last three.

Center

Jarrett Allen (DK: $5,300 FD: $6,700 Y!: $20) Ownership 3.53%

Can we squeeze some value out of Jarrett Allen at the C position Friday? You like the ownership at just under 4%, you don't like that Charlotte is 11th defensively vs. the center. Lately, however, the Hornets have struggled vs. bigs. Clint Capela and Demarcus Cousins have both gone for 50+ against Charlotte the past week. Allen just matched up with them last Saturday and had 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks. This should be a close game (BK -3.5) so the usage is going to be there.

There's been some scoring at C vs. Charlotte lately.

Utility Player

Jaylen Brown (DK:$4,500 FD:$5,000 Y!: $19) Ownership 6.35%

Tonight's lineup leaves $6,400 for the utility spot. Jaylen Brown is a nice plug-in, as the Celtics need to snap a 4-game losing streak and have Washington visiting town tonight. In the last three games Brown has two 8+ rebound games and has a 12 fg attempt night. The Wizards' defense ranks 29th or worse in points/allowed, opponents fg%, and 3-point shooting against, so you have to like Brown's upside here.

That wraps up the LineStar Daily Dribble for this week. Per usual it's a loaded NBA weekend and a 7-game slate looming for Monday. Until then, check out Carl Taylor (@dailydogsports) on Twitter for some sports betting and DFS chatter.
