Top NBA Plays 3/10 | So...Black Monday Was Fun

3-game slates like last night are always tough to tackle. The Bucks deciding at the last second to go with a starting lineup that included Antetkounmpo (Thanasis), Lopez (Robin), Sterling Brown, and Pat Connaughton didn't do any favors. Neither did Norman Powell getting hurt 1:35 into the Raptors game and not returning or even Willy Hernangomez falling out of the rotation despite double digit rebounds in 2 of his last 3. . One person on Twitter jokingly (I think) said there might literally be some 0's for total scores on the night.

The good news is that last night's debacle is in the rear view and there's a 9-game card to sift through.

Tonight's DFS Headlines

Celtics (-3) @ Pacers O/U 214.5

Indiana has won 8 of their last 10 and own the #5 scoring defense in the league (107.3). Boston is still a road favorite though, mostly because Sabonis (ankle), Oladipo (knee), Brogdon (quad), and McDermott (toe) are all on the injury report for the Pacers.

Knicks @ Wizards (-4.5), O/U 228.5

It's a slippery slope on targeting this game. On one hand, it's two of the bottom 8 squads in defensive efficiency. Both teams have switched their focus to expanded rosters and developing younger players. 10 Knicks players logged 17+ minutes last game while 9 Wizards has 16+ last time out.

Cavs @ Bulls (-3.5), O/U 216

Zach LaVine (quad) practiced with Chicago over the weekend but is still iffy to take the court tonight even though it's his 🎂Birthday Game 🎂. Chicago has moved rookie Coby White to the starting lineup vs. Cleveland's #30 defense vs. opponents FG%.

Timberwolves @ Rockets (-12.5), O/U 246.5

This is a game to target, with a betting total of 246.5. The Rockets have won 22 of the last 26 in the series including all three so far this year, scoring 125, 139, and 131 in the process.

Lots of targets in the Minnesota Houston matchup.

Magic @ Grizzlies (-2.5), O/U 220

It's an important game for both teams, as they each sit in the 8 seed in their respective conferences. After allowing 116+ points in 5 of 6, the Orlando defense held Houston to 106 on Sunday. Memphis has held 4 of their last 5 opponents to 101 or less.

Mavericks (-3.5) @ Spurs , O/U 227.5

Dallas has gone 3-0 vs. the Spurs this season but each win has been by 7 points or less. Luka Doncic has averaged a triple double vs. San Antonio (30/11/10) but could also be held out of this meeting with a wrist injury and because the Mavs play Denver tomorrow.

Suns @ Trail Blazers (-4.5), O/U 232

Phoenix showed great balance in their last game, as Devin Booker had 59fp and Ricky Rubio 72 as four Suns players tallied 20+ real points. Portland has allowed 123+ in 3 of their last 5.

Clippers (-11.5) @ Warriors, O/U 226.5

L.A. scored 141 points in their last trip to Golden State back in late October. The Clippers should be hungry after losing the Battle for Los Angeles to the Lakers on Sunday which snapped a 6-game win streak. Stephen Curry continues to fight an illness for the Warriors and his status is unclear.

Nets @ Lakers (-10), O/U 221.5

LeBron James (groin) could get a rest tonight after two impressive wins over the Bucks and Clippers over the weekend in which James averaged 32.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg, and 8.5 apg.

Guards

Coby White DK $6.8k | FD $6.4k

Coby White moves into the starting spot for Tomas Satoransky tonight, which is great timing vs. Cleveland's #30 ranked defense vs. the PG position. This is White's 1st start and his usage has been great lately, with 20+ shots in 6 of the last 8 games. Dejounte Murray had a full stat line with 17/7/6/6 vs. Cleveland the last time out en route 49.25 fp night at the PG position.

Tim Hardaway, Jr. DK $6.3k | FD $6.1k

Tim Hardaway, Jr. becomes a great play tonight if Luka Doncic does indeed sit with a wrist injury - which could be likely since Dallas meets Denver right away tomorrow night. Seth Curry (ankle) is already out while Dorian Finney-Smith (hip) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (illness) are also likely to miss. That's a lot of minutes missing at the SG/SF position tonight, so Hardaway should keep up his trend of 40 and 39 minutes from the last two games. Hardaway had 45 fp on 11-21 shooting on Sunday.

Hardaway gets a huge boost with Doncic and others out of the lineup.

Matthew Dellavedova DK $4k | FD $3.9k

This definitely looks like a chase play but Matthew Dellavedova should see another increased usage night as he gets another start at the PG position - and vs. Chicago's Coby White, a rookie making his first start. Dellavedova has been a great facilitator the last two with 21 points, 25 assists, and 8 rebounds combined to lead wins over Denver and San Antonio. Chicago has allowed at least 24 fp to four straight PGs but Delly has hit 36fp in each of his last two. The minutes should continue to be there, as Cleveland is down to a 7-8 man rotation due to injuries.

Forwards

Dario Saric DK $5.5k | FD $5k

There's upside for Dario Saric tonight vs. Portland's #30 ranked defense vs. the PF. Look no further then four days ago when these two teams met up in a 127-117 Suns win powered by 24 points and 8 rebounds from Saric (43 fp).

Saric only has one upside game recently - but it came against Portland.

Robert Covington DK $6.2k | FD $6.2k

The first reason to like Robert Covington tonight is because he's up against his old team - not necessarily teammates - in Minnesota. It's not a revenge game per se, getting traded from the 2nd worst team in the league to a championship contender, but familiarity of a system never hurts. Covington is also on a nice little roll, with 41+ fp in 3 of his last 5. Eric Gordon (knee) and Ben McLemore (illness) could also be out vs. a T'Wolves team that has allowed 120+ in 8 of the last 10.

Josh Okogie DK $4.1k | FD $4.2k

Josh Okogie is a salary saver with upside, as it never hurts to target the Minnesota @ Houston game with a betting total of 246.6. The Rockets rank 28th and 27th defensively vs. the PF and SF position. Okogie likes the matchup, with 16 and 17 real points the last two games vs. Houston while shooting 11-20 (38fppg).

Nobody said Okogie wasn't a 'hit or miss' option.

Center

Hassan Whiteside DK $9k | FD $9.5k

Hassan Whiteside had his 6X streak broken at two on Saturday, which is understandable since Portland was on the back-to-back. Whiteside still had a decent 19/11 night vs. the Kings which followed a 23 point, 20 rebound night vs. Phoenix on Friday. The Trail Blazers just so happen to be playing the Suns tonight but this time in Portland. Deandre Ayton did not play the last meeting and is expected to be back, but the Suns are still 25th defensively vs. the C position on the year. Dragan Bender had a near 40fp night vs. Phoenix at the end of February, so Whiteside should provide a great ROI in this spot.

Not as many people on Whiteside as you think (projected).
