Top NBA Plays 3/11 | Last Few Games With Fans in the Crowd?

According to a tweet from Ric Bucher, tonight's 6-game NBA slate could be the last played in front of fans due to Coronavirus concerns. Obviously there's a bigger picture here, but that would also be unchartered waters for DFS purposes. Do home court advantages go out the window? Are games lower scoring in general because of the awkward atmosphere?

The only thing we can do is take tonight's known, and work the rest in the following days. So here we go.

Tonight's DFS Headlines

Pistons @ 76ers (-11.5), O/U 216.5

Oddsmakers are expecting a return from Joel Embiid ($10.5k) and/or Josh Richardson ($5.2) as they've made the Sixers nearly a dozen point favorite tonight. The Pistons don't appear to be poised to put up much of a fight after losing 84-96 to the Knicks on Sunday.

Knicks @ Hawks (-4.5), O/U 230

Atlanta looks to be in a rare bright spot here as they host the Knicks who are on a back-to-back. New York fell 115-122 to the Wizards last night, their 3rd game in the last 5 allowing 122+. These two teams battled to a 140-135 (2OT) Hawks win back on February 9th.

Hornets @ Heat (-10), O/U 211.5

With the Heat being favored by 10 here, you'd tend to believe that Jimmy Butler ($8k) will give it a go despite leaving the last game with a foot injury. Charlotte had held 4 of 5 opponents to 104 points or less but lost a 138-143 OT shootout with Atlanta on Monday.

Jazz @ Thunder (-2) , O/U

The Thunder have won 8 of 10 including an 18 point comeback vs. Boston without leading scorer Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (hip) on Sunday. S.G.A is expected back tonight and OKC can climb into Utah's #4 spot in the West with a win.

Nuggets @ Mavs (-1), O/U 219.5

Dallas is almost a strange favorite here as they take on the West's #3 seed but on 0 days rest. The Mavs lost 119-109 vs. San Antonio last night despite 38 from Luka Doncic ($11k) playing through a slight wrist injury. Denver has won 4 of the last 5 in this series.

Pelicans (-1.5) @ Kings, O/U 235

The Kings are home underdogs tonight, getting the best pace boost and with the highest betting total vs. the Pelicans. Memphis' loss last night leaves both of these teams within 3.5 games of the 8 seed in the West.

Guards

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander DK $6.3k | FD $7k

Decent DK pricing on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tonight considering he was a $7.4k player a week ago. SGA did miss the last game with a hip contusion which should keep his ownership on the lower side even though he's expected to play vs. Utah tonight. Mediocre DFS SGs have been tearing up the Jazz lately, as Marcus Smart hit nearly 40, RJ Barrett 28, and Kevin Porter, Jr. 31 fp over the last 5 games. SGA has 26 and 20 real points in two matchups with Utah this season.

Duncan Robinson DK $6k | FD $4.9k

Duncan Robinson has great FD value at under $5k for a guy who has gone for 35, 39, and 43 fp the last three games. The Heat play Charlotte tonight, a team that had been playing good defense but gave up 143 to the Hawks in OT last time out. 3 of the last 4 SF's who have faced Charlotte have put up at least 32 fp. There's also a chance Jimmy Butler, Kendrick Nunn, and Tyler Herro all miss this game for Miami, which gives Robinson more shot opportunities here.

Jrue Holiday DK $8.2k | FD $8.7k

Jrue Holiday is a dark horse spender upper tonight, as he's gone for 62+ fp in 2 of his last 4 games. The Kings have allowed 36+ fp to 3 of the last 4 SG's and Holiday has 6+ assists and rebounds in 4 straight.

Holiday has a great matchup here.

Forwards

Danilo Gallinari DK $5.9k | FD $6.3k

Utah ranks in the top 6 defensively vs. both forward positions but have struggled vs. the front court lately. 4 of the last 5 PF's have scored at least 43 fp vs. the Jazz despite Utah allowing 105 points or less in 4 of those games. Danilo Gallinari has underperformed the last two games but they've come in a blowout vs. the Knicks and a tough away game in Boston. The OKC PF has still scored 18+ real points in 5 of the last 6 though.

Gallinari has great upside vs. the UTH front court based on what they've allowed lately.

Will Barton DK $6.2k | FD $5.7k

Will Barton looks to be able to keep his nice recent roll going, as he's up against a Mavericks team that is on the back-to-back. Dallas ranks 24th dVp against the SF as it is. Brandon Ingram and DeMar DeRozan have both eclipsed the 40fp barrier vs. the Mavs in the past week. Barton has also snagged 6+ rebounds in each of his past three games while taking 9 three pointers in his last two. Jerami Grant ($4.6k) would also be a nice play here vs. a tired Kristaps Porzingis.

Barton has posted a couple nice upside games the last two.

Harrison Barnes DK $5k | FD $4.9k

Harrison Barnes is worth a play tonight at under $5k vs. the Pelicans #1 pace in the league. New Orleans ranks 27th defensively vs. the SF to boot and Duncan Robinson and Josh Okogie each put up 30+ fp vs. the Pelicans the last two games. Barnes has hit 30+ fp in two of the last three and had 30 real points vs. New Orleans back on January 4th.

Center

Mitchell Robinson DK $5.7k | FD $5.7k

The Knicks are in the back-to-back tonight, but Mitchell Robinson played a very 'bounce back-able' 25 minutes last night vs. the Wizards. He didn't do much with that time (10 points, 3 rebounds) but NYK went with the hot hand as Bobby Portis poured in 26 off the bench. Robinson is just a game removed from a 14/11 performance vs. the Pistons and the matchup with Atlanta's #28 defense vs. the C is just too good to pass up. Robinson has 15/11 and 22/13 in two meetings with Atlanta this season.

Robinson is a dark horse tonight for sure.
