Top NBA Plays 3/18 | The Home Stretch

A little over three weeks remain in the 2018/19 regular season and some teams cannot wait for this debacle to be over (cough, Lakers). The Western Conference playing field is pretty much set, although just 3.5 games separate the 3 seed and 8 seed. Orlando and Charlotte can still catch Miami for the 8 seed in the East. All these scenarios will play a part in creating DFS lineups for the remainder of the way - as will analyzing the teams that are already in offseason golf mode (cough, Bulls).

Tonight's Headline Games

It was looking like you should avoid opponents of the Heat for DFS purposes, as they've allowed 75 and 74 points to 2 of the last 3 foes. Miami is on a B2B tonight and at OKC however, so how does that factor in? Russell Westbrook is also serving a suspension tonight for the Thunder.

The Knicks are riding high after taking down the Lakers yesterday at MSG. That being said, New York now travels to Toronto on the B2B. Is this a game to avoid for daily fantasy as the Raptors are -13.5 favorites?

A team to pounce on Monday could be the Phoenix Suns, who are hosting Chicago who is also on a B2B. The Bulls were dominated by 27 at Sacramento yesterday.

Can Boston put the clamps on the potent Denver offense from TD Garden? The O/U is 222.5.

Stay away from Denver on the road despite the favorable matchups?

Guards

Dennis Schroder (DK: $5,100 FD: $6,000 Y! $22) Ownership: 2%

You gotta play the Russell Westbrook replacement for just $5,100 don't you? The LineStar usage matrix shows that Dennis Schroder gets a 6.38% usage boost when Westbrook is out and his fantasy points go up 8.77. Miami doesn't exactly run the pace that you'd like but the solid Heat defense is also playing on the road and in a back-to-back. Schroder has posted more than 27 fp just once in the last seven games but he's worth the upside in this one.

It's a no-brainer that Schroder should get a boost with Westbrook out Monday.

Elfrid Payton (DK: $7,500 FD: $9,300 Y! $33) Ownership 30.06%

The price is creeping up there (as expected) but there's still value on New Orleans' Elfrid Payton who has posted four straight triple-doubles. Payton is a great stack with Julius Randle, as the O/U vs. the Mavs is 230.5. The last three games have been at home but Payton's stats should play well on the road, as he's had 16 assists in each of the past two games as well as 12+ rebounds.

Oh what a feeling, when Payton keeps hitting his ceiling.

Kadeem Allen (DK: $3,800 FD: $3,900 Y! $14) Ownership 0.9%

There's salary relief with Kadeem Allen of the Knicks tonight. Sure, New York is on a back-to-back, but Allen played just 16:48 vs. the Lakers on Sunday. Dennis Smith, Jr. is O Monday vs. Toronto and Emmanuel Mudiay played 32:47 vs. LA. Allen could see increased minutes anyway, due to the blowout potential at the Raptors. He shot 7-10 from the field Friday night in his first game being called up from the G-League.

Forwards

Julius Randle (DK: $8,000 FD: $8,900 Y!: $38) Ownership 16.88%

There's nice upside for Julius Randle vs. Dallas, as he's attempted at least 18 field goals in 7 of the last 8 games. That includes a 20-34 night vs. Portland on Thursday in which he also grabbed 11 rebounds en route to a 77 point fantasy night. The Mavs have allowed at least 43 fantasy points to three straight PF's. Randle has gone 22/12, 23/4, and 27/18 in three games vs. Dallas this season.

Randle should be a stat compiler in Big D on Monday.

Marcus Morris (DK: $5,000 FD: $5,600 Y!: $20) Ownership 7.56%

Marcus Morris has been getting some nice looks with field goal attempts of 14 and 15 the last two games while he's also averaged 12 rebounds. Those contests were both at home, as is Monday's tilt vs. Denver. The Nuggets have a solid defense, but Morris' usage should stay on the high side as Gordon Hayward is battling a concussion and Al Horford is playing through a tweaked knee. Boston is just 1GB from Indiana for the 4 seed, an all-important slot for home court in round 1 of the playoffs.

Dragan Bender (DK: $3,400 FD: $4,000 Y! $10) Ownership 1.56%

There's upside on most every Suns player on Monday vs. a Chicago team that's on a back-to-back and has allowed 123+ points in four straight games. Dragan Bender is definitely an interesting matchup as he was able to log 33 minutes with Richaun Holmes and Tyler Johnson O Saturday (both questionable Monday). Four of the last five PF have scored at least 35 fp vs. the Bulls.

Center

Kevin Love (DK: $7,700, FD; $8,100 Y!:$33 ) Ownership 9.12%

On paper, Kevin Love has a horrible matchup with the Pistons (3rd vs. PF) which lowers his price and thus increases his value. The Cavs are at home in this one where they most recently beat Toronto by 25 points on March 11th and toppled the Magic by 14 before that on March 3rd. Love averaged 16/16 in both of those games and went for 40+ fp in each. Love is listed as Q with a lower back contusion, so make sure to use the LineStar "Lineup Builder and Optimizer" to follow news throughout the day.

Love has had some ups and downs but he's capable of 45-50+ any given night.

Utility Player

Bradley Beal (DK:$9,400 FD:$10,700 Y!: $48) Ownership 12.09%

Tonight's lineup takes some chances but it leaves $9,500 for the utility position. That's just short of Paul George ($9,700) playing without Russell Westbrook. That is enough for Bradley Beal, however, who has completely gone off lately. Beal has scored 36+ points in 3 of the last 5 games. Beal has a tough matchup with Utah on Monday, but he's the surest thing for the money left available.

There are some good teams with some bad matchups tonight, which makes for a very interesting slate. There are 6 games in the hopper for Tuesday night. Until then, check out Carl Taylor (@dailydogsports) on Twitter for more NBA betting talk and DFS news.
