Top NBA Plays 3/19| No Such Thing as Sports Overload
The NBA goes a bit on the back burner the next couple of weekends because of the NCAA tournament, but if anybody says there's just too much sports going on today unfriend them, block them, delete them from your Myspace, and take them off your family phone plan because we've earned this.
Today's NBA Matchups
Kings @ Celtics (-7) , O/U 235, 7:30 PM ET
The Kings got a win on Wednesday, but Boston is still a team to target as Sacramento has allowed at least 119 points in six of the last seven. Sacramento ranks last in opponent field goal and three point percentage.
Lineup Notes: Marvin Bagley is out 4 weeks with a hand fracture.
Spurs (-4) @ Cavs, O/U 211, 7:30 PM ET
Pretty low scoring game expected here, mostly because the Spurs have held 3 of their last 4 opponents to 99 points or less. San Antonio outscored the Bulls 39-19 in Wednesday's 106-99 win.
Lineup Notes: DeMar DeRozan is expected to return for the Spurs tonight.
Nets (-10.5) @ Magic, O/U 224, 8:00 PM ET
We've got a 🕯️Blowout Spot🕯️as Orlando has dropped 9 in a row. This game is also riddled with injuries and GTD's.
Pacers @ Heat (-4.5) O/U 215.5, 8:00 PM ET
Oddsmakers are expecting a defensive struggle between a couple of top 11 defenses with that low betting total. The Heat have held 6 of their last 7 opponents under 100 points.
Jazz (-5) @ Raptors, O/U 229.5, 8:00 PM ET
Toronto finally cleared the virus protocol on Wednesday, only to lose 116-112 against 11-29 Detroit. That might be expected with the likes of Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet playing their first game in nearly three weeks. It's a nice bounce back spot for the Raptors against Utah, who lost 131-122 at Washington last night.
Pistons @ Rockets (-1.5), O/U 214.5, 8:00 PM ET
Oh boy. Houston has dropped 18 in a row, but are slight favorites when they host Detroit tonight. This one feels low scoring and ugly, better just watch some NCAA tournament games and check the score sparingly.
Warriors @ Grizzlies (-8), O/U 221, 8:00 PM ET
Right away this spread screams 🤕Injury News🤕 and its true, Golden State is running a skeleton crew tonight. Memphis target or possible blowout?
Bulls @ Rockets (-7), O/U 228, 9:00 PM ET
Chicago is chomping at the bit to get back on the court, blowing a big lead against the Spurs on Wednesday in a 7-point loss. The Bulls have a quick trip to Denver then back to Detroit, first squaring off against a Nuggets team that has put up 120+ points their last two.
Mavericks (-3) @ Trail Blazers, O/U 234, 10:00 PM ET
Who'd of thought the Portland defense gets better when CJ McCollum returns, but that was the case in a 101-93 win over the Pelicans on Wednesday. McCollum had just 11 points in 20 minutes, however.
Timberwolves @ Suns (-11), O/U 231, 10:30 PM ET
Houston has lost 18 in a row, yet are still 2 games ahead of Minnesota for last place in the Western Conference. The T'Wolves are that bad, but did score a 123-119 over Phoenix last night behind 40+ from KAT and Anthony Edwards. Paging the Suns defense...
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
Luka Doncic DK $10.7k | FD $10.4k
@ Portland
Luka seems to be the spend up play at G tonight, with Damian Lillard taking a hit with McCollum back and James Harden in a blowout spot vs. Orlando. Doncic has been great the last two with 25/16/10 (69fp) and 42/9/6 (74fp) vs. the Clippers. Doncic gets a Portland team that has the 2nd worst defense overall and is 26th vs. the PG.
Devin Booker DK $7.8k | FD $7.5k
vs. Timberwolves
Devin Booker is under 8k for the third time in the last four games, and he's played 35 minutes in his last two back-to-back's so usage should be the same tonight. Booker hit 13 of 22 shots last night to hit 6X. Why would that change tonight?
Delon Wright DK $6k | FD $5.6
@ Houston
Great value for a guy who is basically the face of the franchise for Detroit right now. He's still growing into that role but has improved in fp each of his four games since returning from a groin injury. Did that peak with 46fp vs. Toronto on Wednesday? Not when Houston is the opponent tonight.
Buddy Hield DK $6.4k | FD $6.3
@ Boston
This could be the last time playing "SGs vs. Boston" for a while as it looks like Marcus Smart is kind of rounding back into defensive form after his return from injury. Buddy Hield is starting at the SF spot tonight, but he'll play a lot of positions with Tyrese Haliburton on a minutes restriction and Marvin Bagley being out. Oddsmakers are expecting points, with a total of 233.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Christain Wood DK $8.5k | FD $8.1k
@ Philadelphia
Christian Wood is a PF on Fanduel, and he's up against his old team Detroit tonight, who just so happen to be horrible against bigs. The Pistons have given up back to back 40+ fp games to Jakob Poeltl and Chris Boucher at the C spot, where Wood will be playing.
Norman Powell DK $7.5k | FD $7.8k
vs. Utah
I thought maybe the Norman Powell run might have been over with as Siakam and VanVleet returned, but he went out and got 43 real points in Wednesday's loss to Detroit. The well may dry up with OG Anunoby returning, and Powell hit 50fp despite not getting a block, assist, or steal. Nobody would blame you for bailing, this could also be, "The New Norman."
Draymond Green DK $6.7k | FD $6.6k
@ Memphis
This is a very hit-or-miss play because Draymond Green actually loses fp when the likes of Curry and Kelly Oubre, Jr. are out (both doubtful). Golden State doesn't have a ton of other options though with Eric Paschall and James Wiseman both on the COVID list. Green has a triple-double in two of the last three, making it worth the try.
Thad Young DK $6.1k | FD $6.6k
@ Denver
Thaddeus Young is PF eligible on FD, even though he has moved into the starting C spot for Chicago. The matchup isn't great in Denver, but Young just gets his with 10+ points, 7+ rebounds, and 5+ assists in three straight. He's a consistent 5-6X hoverer.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Nikola Jokic DK $10.6k | FD $11k
vs. Chicago
Very slight price drop after his 43fp performance on Wednesday, but that was in a 25-point blowout. The Nuggets have won their last two by 15+ but Jokic still logged 69fp on March 15th vs. Indiana. The Bulls have allowed 16 boards to both Moses Brown and Jakob Poeltl the last two games, and Jokic put up a 39/14/9 (77fp) line when these teams met March 1st.
Jakob Poeltl DK $6.1k | FD $5.6k
@ Cleveland
Price staying kind of firm for Jakob Poeltl despite two straight appearances in the perfect lineup. The consecutive 42fp games came against teams that are horrible vs. post players, but Cleveland falls in that category as well.
