There's a big weekend of college hoops ahead but the NBA is action packed as well. It's time to swoop in and have some DFS success while a lot of the other players have their heads buried in brackets.

Tonight's Headline Games

The Magic are in a must-win situation as they are 1.5 GB from the Heat for the 8 seed in the East. The Grizzlies shouldn't put up much of a fight tonight.

Speaking of the Heat, their solid defense has a tough test at the Bucks.

D'Angelo Russell ($8,300) went off vs. the Kings last game. Expect more of the same when the Nets visit the Lakers.

The Spurs have won 9 of 10 but have a tough matchup at the Rockets on Friday.

Guards

D'Angelo Russell (DK: $8,300 FD: $8,900 Y! $35) Ownership: 12.64%

If you think D'Angelo Russell was launching the last three games (33, 33, 25 fga), wait until you see him in action vs. the Lakers today. The Staples Center was Russell's old stomping grounds and he's coming off a 77 point fantasy night vs. Sacramento. The Nets have had two nights off and Russell's going to be fun to watch in this one.

Khris Middleton (DK: $7,500 FD: $7,500 Y! $31) Ownership 26.4%

Despite his recent surge, Khris Middleton is an iffy play today. First off, he's up against the Heat's tough defense and 2nd, they've raised Middleton's salary by $800. Even so, Giannis Antetokounmpo is another game-time decision and in his absence Middleton has had 21 and 20 field goal attempts the last two games and has grabbed double digit rebounds in each.

Brandon Knight (DK: $4,000 FD: $4,200 Y! $10) Ownership 5.76%

There's upside on Brandon Knight today, as Cleveland is at home with the Clippers traveling cross country after a six game home stand. Knight has 12 and 13 fga the last two games as Cleveland plays their third straight home game. LAC is traditionally solid vs. the SG, but they have allowed 49+ fp to Zach Lavine and CJ McCollum over the past 4 games.

Forwards

Kevin Knox (DK: $4,800 FD: $5,100 Y!: $11) Ownership 1.56%

He plays for the Knicks and David Fizdale, so usage is a crap shoot. But Kevin Knox has seen a nice uptick recently. Knox logged 47 minutes last game vs. Utah and has field goal attempts of 17, 14, and 14 the last three games. The game against the Jazz was a 21 point NYK loss, which is good for Knox, as New York is in another blowout spot as +11 home underdogs vs. Denver.

Cedi Osman (DK: $5,700 FD: $6,300 Y!: $21) Ownership 12.24%

He was a huge letdown last game with just 14 fantasy points but with the value and upside, it's hard to lay off Cedi Osman. The Cavs might seem like a weird stack but the Clippers have allowed 115+ points in 4 of the last 5. Kevin Love missed the Friday morning shootaround (illness) and his usage may be sparse tonight. This opens things up for Osman, who has 35+ fp in 4 of 5 prior to Wednesday.

DeMar DeRozan (DK: $8,000 FD: $9,000 Y! $39) Ownership 7.65%

Houston has been somewhat solid vs. the SF position lately but Kelly Oubre, Jr. did have a 44 point fantasy night vs. the Rockets a week ago. DeMar DeRozan is projected for a 40 point night, which would be his 5th straight. When the Spurs and Rockets met up at the end of December, DeRozan had 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Center

Hassan Whiteside (DK: $5,000, FD; $5,500 Y!:$17 ) Ownership 1.74%

Bam Adebayo has a right hip bruise which could open up the usage for Hassan Whiteside tonight (my how the tables have turned). The LineStar app will have up-to-date injury reports, but Miami would be wise to sit Adebayo, as they have a winnable game vs. the Wizards on Saturday. Whiteside may see increased play anyway, as Miami is a +9.5 underdog tonight.

Utility Player

Fred VanVleet (DK:$5,300 FD:$5,600 Y!: $19) Ownership 39.52%

Fred VanVleet is a high upside player with Kyle Lowry out of the lineup. The Raptors are in a home-and-home against Oklahoma City and VanVleet went for 23 points and 6 assists on the road Wednesday. Those numbers should get a boost back at home.
