Top NBA Plays 3/24|Twas' the Night Before Trade Deadline

It's one of the nights DFS players hate the most, the dreaded Trade Deadline Eve. You've got a great matchup with JaVale McGee getting value vs. the Bulls until he's pulled because of a trade. Is a Kyle Lowry trade imminent giving FVV value, who gets a boost with Victor Oladipo likely on the move, does somebody like a DeMar DeRozan go somewhere.

We could see a lot of potential trade targets sitting tonight just so they don't blow an ACL before the dotted line is signed. You could also see somebody like Terry Rozier trying to improve their stock one last time to go to a legit contender. It's going to be an interesting 24+ hours, so buckle in.

Today's NBA Matchups

Pistons @ Pacers (-6), O/U 218.5, 7:00 PM ET

This matchup excites nobody. Detroit has been held under 100 in 3 of their last 5 but also has an underrated, kind-of-good defense. Indiana did put up 137 vs. the Heat last Friday though, and have some players to target with Malcolm Brogdon (back) and Myles Turner (ankle) on the injury report.

Nuggets (-2.5) @ Raptors, O/U 223.5, 7:30 PM ET

It feels like the Nuggets should be much larger favorites than just -2.5 vs. a Raptors team that has dropped 9 in a row and just lost to 😱The Rockets😱 last time out. Denver is on the back to back, but it was an easy 11-point win over the Magic last night.

Celtics @ Bucks (-6), O/U 230, 7:30 PM ET

Does Giannis go? Antetokounmpo sat out Monday's game with a sprained knee, but he's played 40 of 42 Bucks games this year. Jrue Holiday (64fp) and Khris Middleton (45 fp) led the way in a 27-point win over Indiana on Monday so what's the rush? Hard to believe you target Boston's defense, but they gave up 132 vs. Memphis last time out (in OT and without Walker and Tatum, but still).

Suns (-10) @ Magic, O/U 215.5, 8:00 PM ET

Suns are in a 🕯️Blowout Spot🕯️vs. Orlando tonight. The Magic are bad anyways having lost 9 of 10, but they're on 0 days rest after falling to Denver last night. Time to look towards the Suns bench?

Cavs @ Bulls (-6), O/U 216.5, 10:00 PM ET

Although this looks like a Collin Sexton vs. Zach LaVine glorified 🐴H-O-R-S-E🐴 matchup, Chicago is horrible vs. bigs and that's a spot Cleveland can exploit. Would've been a great spot for non-trade-deadline JaVale.

Hornets (-3.5) @ Rockets, O/U 222.5, 8:00 PM ET

Everybody should be available to trade on the Rockets...or do they think they're going to build some momentum after snapping a 20-game losing streak on Monday? That win came against the Raptors - who are equally bad.

Mavs (-8) @ Timberwolves, O/U 231.5, 8:00 PM ET

Luka Doncic ($11k) for 6X for the third time in the last four games or is this one more likely to be a blowout? The Mavs have had an extra day of rest after Sunday's 132-92 win in Portland.

Grizzlies (-4.5) @ Thunder, O/U 219.5, 8:00 PM ET

Memphis dropped 132 on the Celtics last time out, but Boston was on the b2b without Walker or Tatum. It's a couple of top 12 defenses but also rank in the top dozen in tempo. Flip the coin.

Clippers (-6) @ Spurs, O/U 221.5, 8:30 PM ET

By all accounts, San Antonio is a seller at the trade deadline despite being in the 7 seed in the West. LAC could be looking for a big man in the next 24 hours (Myles Turner?). Ugly DFS game though.

Nets @ Jazz (-10), O/U 230.5, 10:00 PM ET

Brooklyn isn't getting much love as double digit underdogs at the Jazz (which suggests Harden may sit). The Nets are on the back to back after a 116-112 win in Portland last night. Harden had a 63fp night while Kyrie Irving used some PTO for his birthday.

Hawks (-3) @ Kings, O/U 231, 10:00 PM ET

This isn't the fast-paced game it would have been in recent years, but the betting total of 231 shows you don't need tempo when you've got Sacramento's #30 defense.

Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables

Luka Doncic DK $11k | FD $11k

@ Timberwolves

Minnesota ranks dead last against opposing PGs, giving up nearly 50fp/48. As much as this may look like a blowout with the Mavs being favored by -8, Minnesota has beaten New Orleans, Phoenix, and Portland over their last 7 games so they can keep this close. Doncic went for 50+ fp even in a 40 point win over Portland last time out.

Zach LaVine DK $8.5k | FD $8k

vs. Cleveland

Here for the Zach LaVine 🚀Launch Game🚀. This is the first meeting of the season between the Bulls and Cavs, but LaVine has taken 30+ in his last two games vs. Cleveland, good for 69 and 73 fp. The Cavs are going to get a lot of easy buckets on the interior, so this could turn into the type of back-and-forth game that the Bulls guard thrives in.

Caris LeVert DK $6.6k | FD $6.8

vs. Detroit

Win or lose Detroit likes to play 101-94 type games. IF Brogdon and/or Turner sit though, that could still give Caris LeVert value as he works his way into this Pacers lineup. LeVert looked pretty comfortable shooting 18 and 17 times the last two games, both on the road. He's back in his (new) home for just the 2nd time looking for that first 40+ game as a Pacer.

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Domantas Sabonis DK $9.4k | FD $8.8k

vs. Detroit

Who knows who (if anybody) gets traded for Indiana tonight, but either way Myles Turner (ankle) and Malcolm Brogdon (back) are on the injury report and would be wise to sit just in case. That's about 42% of usage opening up for Sabonis against a Detroit team that he had 26/8/8 against on February 11th.

Jaylen Brown DK $8.3k | FD $7.8k

@ Milwaukee

What you like about Jaylen Brown is that he's not going to kill you in cash. He's got a 46fp floor the last five games and Boston gets the second best pace boost of the night against the Bucks. Brown had 33 real points in the season opener against Milwaukee, and if Antetokounmpo doesn't go that's one less lanky defender to get in the way.

Pat Connaughton DK $5.1k | FD $4.5k

vs. Boston

Definitely, a sneak-in play if Giannis sits again. Boston has been struggling with the SG/SF types, as evidenced by Dillon Brooks dropping 47fp on Monday (granted, in OT). Connaughton had 20/9 Monday vs. the Pacers and grabbed 12 boards a couple of games prior against Philadelphia even with Antetokounmpo playing.

Dean Wade DK $3.7k | FD $3.5k

@Chicago

JaVale McGee may sit tonight as he's reportedly on the trading block. That should give the Dean Machine, Dean Wade some extra minutes against a very bad Chicago post defense. Wade can get over a point a minute tonight, it's just all about just how many minutes that is.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Nikola Jokic DK $10.7k | FD $10.8k

@ Toronto

How do you not, even on the back to back? Jokic has posted 75 and 53 fp his last two on 0 days rest and plays a Toronto team that has gone small by putting Pascal Siakam at center. Jokic had 16/7/6 at the half last night vs. Vucevic, bring on the undersized Raptors.

Jarrett Allen DK $7.6k | FD $6.7k

@ Chicago

Thank you for the 11 points, 9 rebound performance on Monday because that has lowered the Jarrett Allen FD price under $7k for what should be a dominating matchup vs. the Bulls. That 24fp came on a back to back for Cleveland, and Allen had posted a 15+ point double-double in consecutive games prior to that. The Bulls have allowed 15+ rebounds to three of the last five C's they've faced, and could lack depth as Warren Carter, Jr. (shoulder) is questionable.
