Top NBA Plays 3/26|Let's Get Physical(s)

Thought all the chaos was over after the trade deadline has passed? Not so fast my friends, because now all those traded players have to pass team physicals and in some cases for this season COVID protocols.

That means there's a whole lot of players in limbo for Friday's huge 11-game slate. That's going to leave some teams shorthanded as they send their players off, and what for reinforcements to arrive. Should make for an interesting night/weekend, and it's going to take a bit for the Usage Matrix to get up to speed with all these changes.

Oh well, let's see what we've got for Friday:

Today's NBA Matchups

Nets (-5.5) @ Pistons, O/U 219.5, 7:00 PM ET

The Nets lost by 30 on Wednesday and James Harden (neck) is questionable again tonight. Not much to like here.

Suns (-3.5) @ Raptors, O/U 224, 7:30 PM ET

Norman Powell's 24% usage rate is off to Portland. It's hard to take Toronto for a test-drive though as the Suns have held opponents to 101 points or less in 3 of 4.

Celtics @ Bucks (-6), O/U 235, 7:30 PM ET

Boston loses some interior depth tonight after trading Daniel Theis to the Bulls while waiting for Moe Wagner and Luke Kornet to come back over. Evan Fournier won't make his Boston debut tonight. Milwaukee only won this matchup by 2 points on Wednesday but was up 25 at one point.

Heat @ Hornets PK O/U 214, 8:00 PM ET

Jimmy Butler missed last night's game with a stomach illness, and the Heat are on the back to back after a hard fought 3-point loss to Portland. Butler is a GTD.

Trail Blazers (-9.5) @ Magic, O/U 217.5, 8:00 PM ET

Orlando is definitely in a rebuild mode, trading away Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon, and Fournier. The Magic are going to be pretty thin and bad tonight.

Rockets @ Timberwolves (-4.5), O/U 229.5, 8:00 PM ET

It's crazy that Houston has a 20-game losing streak this season and is still 2.5 games ahead of Minnesota for last place in the West. This looks like a nice target game, as it will be 🤡Fun Bad🤡.

Nuggets (-2.5) @ Pelicans, O/U 231.5, 8:00 PM ET

Good target game here, as there's already a lot of expected points and we could really be looking at an OT game. The Pelicans won this on Sunday 113-108 behind 42 fp from Williamson, 55 from Ingram, and despite 29/10/10 from Jokic.

Pacers @ Mavericks (-1), O/U 226, 8:30 PM ET

Dallas has won by 40 and 20 the last two games. This line dropped from DAL -4.5 to DAL -1 so it's possible Luka Doncic sits this one out or is limited.

Grizzlies @ Jazz (-9.5) PK O/U 228.5, 9:00 PM ET

Oddsmakers are calling this one a 🕯️Blowout Game🕯️, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Both teams are riding 3-game win streaks, and Valanciunas has been a presence on the inside for the Griz.

Hawks (-7.5) @ Warriors O/U 219, 10:00 PM ET

Golden State is tired and hurt, hence the lofty spread favoring Atlanta on the road. The Warriors were beaten down 141-119 last night, making the Hawks an instant target.

Cavs @ Lakers (-3.5), O/U 208, 10:30 PM ET

It almost seems like Cleveland should be favored here. The Lakers are a shell of themselves without James and Davis, and are also on the back after losing 109-101 to the Sixers last night.

Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables

Trae Young DK $9.1k | FD $8.7k

@ Golden State

The only thing you worry about here is a blowout, as the Warriors are on the back to back and lost by 22 points last night against Sacramento. Trae Young hasn't broken 33fp in three career games vs. GSW, but De'Aaron Fox put up 44 real points last night.

John Wall DK $8.3k | FD $8.2k

@ Minnesota

Victor Oladipo is off to Miami and John Wall is not too far removed from launching 30 times en route to a triple-double in a game he knew the Rockets could win vs. Toronto, who lost 9 in a row at one point. That's the same scenario vs. last place Minnesota, who also happens to be 30th vs. the PG.

Kemba Walker DK $6.7k | FD $6.8

@Milwaukee

Kemba Walker had 23 points and 6 assists in Wednesday's meeting with Milwaukee, and there's reason to think those numbers might improve a bit as Boston is without backup PG Jeff Teague (who had 15 vs. the Bucks) and waiting on Fournier after trades.

Dwayne Bacon DK $4.8k | FD $4.7

vs. Portland

It's time to sizzle for Dwayne Bacon, who moves into the starting lineup vs. a Portland team that is 30th vs. the SG. Really, who else does Orlando have now - at least until their trade chips arrive?

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Jaylen Brown DK $8.4k | FD $8k

@ Milwaukee

Jaylen Brown made the perfect lineup Wednesday vs. the Bucks, and it was his worst outing in the last five games. The production should continue tonight in a rematch, especially with the Celtics missing a couple players after trades.

Larry Nance, Jr. DK $6.5k | FD $6.5k

@ Lakers

Larry Nance, Jr. was a monster on the boards with 14 Wednesday vs. the Bulls. Cleveland has traded away JaVale McGee, meaning Nance will get more time at both front court positions, especially until/if Kevin Love returns. He's up against his old 'mates on the Lakers, who have allowed 37+ fp to 4 of the last 5 PFs they've faced. L.A. is also on the b2b.

Carmelo Anthony DK $5.5k | FD $5.2k

@Orlando

There's no Damian Lillard tonight, and even if Portland blows out Orlando Carmelo will get some minutes out of necessity. The Trail Blazers have only had an 8-man rotation the last two games.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Clint Capela DK $7.8k | FD $8k

@ Golden State

If he gets the minutes, he gets the production. Golden State could be down Paschall and Draymond Green tonight, playing on the back to back. Clint Capela grabbed 17 boards last time out vs. the Kings, and the Warriors are 26th defensively vs. the C position, and dead last as a team in rebounding margin.

Bobby Portis DK $5.6k | FD $5k

vs. Boston

Bobby Portis went for 32 fp vs. Boston on Wednesday, and he's got an even better matchup tonight after the Celtics traded away Daniel Theis. The Celtics may not have a backup C if Wagner or Kornet don't arrive/get cleared in time. Even if they do play, they don't know the system.
