Top NBA Plays 3/29 | The Unwinding

What a whirlwind day yesterday that was hopefully profitable for you across all sports (hoops, hockey, and baseball). It's that wonderful time of year where it's sports galore, especially with the NHL and NBA still in the midst of their regular season. Let's unwind for a second - and then get right back to it with a 6 game Friday NBA card.

Tonight's DFS Headlines

The Trail Blazers continue to try to find their way without CJ McCollum and now Jusuf Nurkic. Damian Lillard ($10,100) had just 11 points last game but it should be a much higher scoring affair vs. the Hawks (O/U 234.5).

The Nuggets / OKC matchup is littered with DFS stars but the O/U is just 219.5. All five Denver starters face an opponent 21st or worse defensively vs. their position.

The Hornets have won four in a row as they still try to climb into the postseason. Can a Charlotte player such as Dwyane Bacon (43 fp last game) or Frank Kaminsky (34) have another big night vs. the Lakers?

Can Jazz stars get theirs in short minutes on Friday? Utah has won three straight games by 15 points- two of which were by more than 30 points - and are -13 favorites vs. Washington tonight.

It's looking like Friday Night Nuggets vs. Oklahoma City

Guards

Seth Curry (DK: $4,500 FD: $5,100 Y! $10) Ownership: 9.4%

The biggest benefactor in the CJ McCollum injury has easily been Seth Curry. The Trail Blazers backup has thrived in his increased role, scoring 20 points in three of the last four. Curry has shot attempts of 11,9, 13, and 16 over that span and Friday is up against an Atlanta squad that has allowed 120+ points in 4 of 6.

Curry will continue to see an uptick in the wake of Portland injuries.

Trae Young (DK: $8,300 FD: $8,700 Y! $39) Ownership 23.28%

Trae Young is gunning for the rookie of the year right now. Literally gunning, as he's shot 24, 20, and 22 times over the last three games. Young has back-to-back 58 point fantasy nights which should continue vs. a depleted Portland. Damian Lillard has to take on even more of the Portland offensive responsibilities, which means his defense is going to suffer.

There's no reason to think Young hits a downturn Friday.

Jamal Murray (DK: $5,900 FD: $7,200 Y! $24) Ownership 10.44%

The Nuggets should be in for a close one vs. the Thunder tonight (OKC -3.5) which means continued solid attempt numbers for Jamal Murray. The Denver PG has put up 14, 19, 12, and 16 shots over the last four and has two 40+ fantasy nights over that span. Playing PG's vs. Oklahoma City has been a strategy most of the season and they just allowed a 49.25 night to Delon Wright on Monday. Murray is on a back-to-back, but he played just 26 minutes Thursday in a blowout loss to Houston.

Forwards

Jae Crowder (DK: $4,500 FD: $5,600 Y!: $14) Ownership 5.2%

The Jazz are in another blowout spot today. They've won three in a row by at least 15 points and are 13 point favorites over Washington in this one. That should mean some continued solid usage for Utah bench players including Jae Crowder. The Wizards are 25th in the league in rebounds, struggle vs. the SF, and gave up 18 points to Crowder when the teams met March 18th.

There should be minutes available for Crowder at home vs. Washington tonight.

Dewayne Dedmon (DK: $5,600 FD: $6,400 Y!: $18) Ownership 4.96%

Atlanta's Dewayne Dedmon is eligible at the PF position and the 7'0", 245 pounder should be able to out-physical Portland's Enes Canter and Zach Collins. Dedmon has 17+ points and 8+ rebounds in three straight and should be solid as Portland still tries to figure out what they're doing in the front court in lieu of Nurkic's injury.

Portland is a different team up front without Nurkic in the lineup.

Jerami Grant (DK: $5,200 FD: $6,000 Y! $18) Ownership 6.9%

Save for a down game Monday when he was battling foul trouble, Jerami Grant has been solid lately. He has at least 14 field goal attempts in four of the last five games and has two 44+ fantasy point contests over that span. Grant has a favorable matchup against a Denver team on leg two of a back-to-back.

Center

Karl-Anthony Towns (DK: $10,500, FD; $11,600 Y!:$53 ) Ownership 38.5%

Much like Joel Embiid last night who went for 39 and 13, Karl-Anthony Towns is worth paying for today. Towns has put up 50+ fantasy points in 7 of 8 games and has a 20+ point double double in each of those. The Warriors gave up a 50 point fantasy night to Jonas Valanciunas the last time out and Towns went for 26 points and 21 rebounds when the teams met up 10 days ago.

Towns has big upside tonight and every night.

Utility Player

Ricky Rubio (DK:$5,500 FD:$6,300 Y!: $19) Ownership 13.32%

Tonight's lineup leaves $5,500 for the utility position. Ricky Rubio has value in that spot as a starting PG vs. the Washington defense. The Wizards gave up 59 fantasy points to Kris Dunn 9 days ago and allowed a 34.5 fp night to Josh Richardson on Saturday. Rubio has posted 25 fantasy points in 7 of 8 with four 30+ point nights over that span. Just need Washington to keep it close here.
