Top NBA Plays 3/5 | Peripherals or No?
Orlando's Terrance Ross was great last night, with 35 points to go along with 0 rebounds, 0 assists, and 0 steals. Ross finished with a very respectable 39fp which was 7X his price but it still begs the question - are points the #1 thing to look for when creating a lineup? Obviously a nice balance is key but it's something to think about heading into tonight's 4-gamer.
Tonight's DFS Headlines
Nuggets (-10) @ Hornets O/U 207.5
Denver lost to the worst team in the league, Golden State, on Tuesday but has a huge front court advantage vs. Charlotte tonight. The Hornets rank last in the league dVp against the C position and 25th vs. the PF.
Clippers @ Rockets (-1), O/U 236
It's a good game to target the Clippers' big name players as they get a slight pace boost in Houston. The Rockets are 27th dVp against the PF spot and 28th vs. the SF. Paul George ($7.4k) had 34/9 when the teams met up in December but Russell Westbrook ($10k) went for 40 in that game.
76ers @ Kings (-5), O/U 219
Philadelphia is 5-20-1 against the spread in their last 26 road games and are +5 point underdogs in Sacramento tonight. The Kings have held 4 of their last 6 opponents to 103 points or less but did let the Wizards score 126 on Tuesday.
Raptors (-8) @ Warriors, O/U 224.5
Steph Curry gets an $8k price tag in his first game since October 30th. Curry will be playing his first game with Andrew Wiggins ($7.8k) who has gone for 42+ fp in three straight. Golden State ranks last in the league defensively vs. SG and 22nd vs. the PG, meaning a big night for the Toronto back court.
Guards
Reggie Jackson DK $4.3k | FD $4.2k
He really hasn't shown the upside since joining the Clippers, but that could change tonight for Reggie Jackson. It's an up pace game for L.A. and Doc Rivers will need all hands on deck to try and slow down the back court duo of Westbrook and Harden. Jackson is taking good shots lately (15 for his last 25) it's just that there haven't been that many of them. That should change with the faster tempo of a 236 betting total, the highest it's been for the Clippers since January 18th.
Terry Rozier DK $6.2k | FD $5.8k
SG's have had no problem getting shots off vs. Denver, as even Mychal Mulder launched 10 three pointers in Golden State's win over the Nuggets on Tuesday. Norman Powell took 17 shots vs. Denver the game before, so it's all systems go for Terry Rozier tonight. Rozier has at least 15 shots in 3 of the last 4 and has as many minutes as he wants with Devonte Graham (ankle) and Malik Monk (suspension) out of the Hornets back court. Rozier likes the matchup too, going for 20 points and 9 assists (42fp) vs. Denver on January 15th.
Norman Powell DK $6.6k | FD $5.5k
There are a lot of mouths to feed for the Raptors but there are fewer seats at the table if Fred VanVleet (shoulder) and Serge Ibaka (knee) continue to sit. Plus, playing against Golden State is a buffet for Norman Powell, as the Warriors are last in the league defensively vs. the SG position. Powell is finding his groove since returning from a hand injury and being inserted into the starting lineup, scoring 22+ real points in each of the last three games. He has 15+ shots in each game while logging minutes of 36, 40, and 38.
Forwards
Miles Bridges DK $5.7k | FD $5.3k
Miles Bridges takes a lot of shots for having just one 30+ fp night in his last six games. The Charlotte SF has taken 11+ shots in 9 of the last 10 including 23 vs. Chicago the 1st game back from the all-star break. Bridges also has 5+ rebounds in 7 of those games, so he's teeter-tottering on a big night if the shots go in. That could happen vs. Denver who just lost to the Warriors last time out. The Nuggets are a top 10 team vs. the SF overall, but have allowed a 28fp night to Tony Snell and a career high 32 points to OG Anunoby at the SF spot over the last 4 games.
Eric Paschall DK $5.8k | FD $5.1k
How about a contrarian play that Eric Paschall's play continues to be solid (or improves) with the return of Stephen Curry? Toronto is going to focus on Curry and Andrew Wiggins, and Draymond Green is likely still out which bodes well for Paschall who is playing with great confidence lately. Paschall has come off the bench to log 32+ minutes in three straight while scoring 22+ real points in 3 of 4. Paschall has taken 13+ shots in four straight - that number could dip with Curry back but the shots could also be easier ones.
Kawhi Leonard DK $9.3k | FD $9.2k
Kawhi Leonard is worth spending for tonight on a short slate and vs. a Houston team that has gone to a small ball rotation. Leonard's peripherals should be amazing tonight, as Houston has the worst rebounding rate in the league over the last three games (43.4%) and just got pounded 65-34 on the boards vs. the Knicks on Monday. The Rockets rank 28th vs. the SF and Leonard has put up 20 shots in each of the last two games.
Center
Robert Covington DK $6.7k | FD $6.5k
If you're playing a cash game, you find a way to afford Nikola Jokic here vs. Charlotte's #30 ranked defense vs. the C. Otherwise, Robert Covington provides a nice option, as he's hit 6X in back-to-back games. Covington is a rare bird that has launched 21 three pointers the last two games while also grabbing 29 rebounds. The Clippers have a good defense, but they'll be working OT with the #13 dVp against the SG (Harden) and #9 vs. the PG (Westbrook).
