Top NBA Plays 3/7 | One Player Makes or Breaks Tonight

It's been a pretty loaded NBA docket so far this week but eventually things have to thin out. Today is that day. There are just two games on the card tonight which means about 30 players, give or take, will see action. Some people sit a small card like this out or play the huge 11-game NHL sheet. Others enjoy the challenge that comes in digging up that one player that is going to determine your success considering there is so much lineup similarity.

Tonight's Headline Games

Milwaukee is back home after a West Coast road trip and are huge favorites vs. the Pacers (+10.5). There is some fantasy potential for Indiana in the front court, however.

The Thunder and Trail Blazers (-4) is an interesting matchup from Portland, as the winner is put in the driver's seat for the 4 seed in the West and home court in round 1 of the playoffs. The teams are currently tied for that spot.

Portland looks like the team to stack in this one.

Guards

Malcolm Brogdon (DK: $5,600 FD: $6,500 Y! $21) Ownership: 40.96%

Throw ownership out the window tonight because you've got guys like Pat Connaughton being in 1 of every 5 lineups. In that case, you take a Malcolm Brogdon even with high ownership, get your guaranteed 30 points, and move on. Brogdon isn't going to get too high, but his floor is pretty steady too (between 30 and 36 fp last eight games). You worry about the blowout with the Bucks -10.5 favorites but Brogdon should be able to get his either way.

Damian Lillard (DK: $8,100 FD: $9,800 Y! $37) Ownership 34.14%

Damian Lillard has had a couple down games (38 and 35 fp last two) but he's still the play Thursday vs. Russell Westbrook's defense. Ben Simmons went for 54.25 fp last week vs. the Thunder and the last three PG opponents Derrick White (34.5), Delon Wright (42 fp), and Jeff Teague (45.25 fp) have all had very solid outings vs. OKC. Lillard has more potential than those three plus Portland is back home for the first time since February 13th which should boost his production.

Lillard should be in line for a huge night Thursday vs. the OKC defense

Wesley Matthews (DK: $4,300, FD; $4,700 Y!:$14 ) Ownership 19.7%

With just two games tonight, it's hard to argue against the cost and usage for a starter like we see with Wesley Matthews. He, at the very least, gets the opportunities, with at least 33 minutes in 4 of the last 6. Matthews has two 20+ point scoring games in his last 7.

Forwards

Moe Harkless (DK: $4,200 FD: $6,000 Y! $17) Ownership 32.2%

Moe Harkless is projected for just 23 fp on Thursday but he should exceed that vs. the OKC defense. The Thunder have allowed 34+ fantasy points to 4 of the last 5 SF they've faced. Harkless has 36+ fp the last two times he's logged more than 30 minutes and the usages should be there tonight in a very close game.

Opportunity should be there for Harkless on Thursday

Bojan Bogdanovic (DK: $6,000 FD: $7,700 Y!: $25) Ownership 41.7%

What you like about Indiana's Bojan Bogdanovic is that he shoots. In the last 8 games Bogdanovic has attempted at least 14 field goals each game including a 22, a 17, and an 18 fga night over that span. For as good as Milwaukee is as a team, they are bad vs. the SF position. Bogdan Bogdanovic of Sacramento (no relation) just put up a 58 fp night vs. the Bucks last week and Kelly Oubre, Jr. had 53.75 vs. Milwaukee on Monday.

Khris Middleton (DK: $6,300, FD: $7,500 Y! $28) Ownership 60.4%

The projected ownership for Khris Middleton tonight is through the roof but he's one of the most steady producers on the slate. He launched 24 fga en route to a 51 point fantasy night last Saturday and has gone for 40+ fp in 4 of 7. Middleton went 1-13 at Phoenix on Monday and will be anxious to find his shot back at home for the first time in 5 games.

Center

Steven Adams (DK: $5,900 FD: $7,000 Y!: $28) Ownership 17.34%

There's value (and high ownership) on all the centers for tonight's card because a) there are only four starting and b) none of them are really top tier. Steven Adams has been killing on the boards lately (11,22,13,14 the last four) and although Portland has been great vs. the C (2nd overall) he presents the best chance for a keeper from this small pond.

On paper it's a horrible matchup but Adams has been productive lately

Utility Player

CJ McCollum (DK:$6,100 FD:$8,000 Y!: $26) Ownership 28.2%

It would have been nice to clear up enough space for Russell Westbrook ($11,100) or Paul George ($9,700) in tonight's lineup but there is just $9,600 available. If you can't take them, go against them. And CJ McCollum is a great play vs. the OKC back court where defense is optional. The Blazers have played just 5 home games since January 26th and McCollum's fantasy production has been 62, 41, 47, 56, and 23 points.

Well we've made it through these rare unicorn 2-game cards. When you endure that, there's always a reward waiting and that's a 9-game Friday slate. Until then, check out Carl Taylor (@dailydogsports) on Twitter for more NBA betting talk and DFS news.
