Top NBA Plays 4/1 | Pictures Coming Into Focus
The NBA regular season wraps up on Wednesday April 10th. There are also no games scheduled next Monday, which means there are just 9 more slates left for the 2018/19 DFS NBA DFS regular season. The playoff seedings as well as lottery odds are coming into picture, which means games SHOULD be a bit easier to pinpoint over the next week plus. That can only help our DFS endeavors, so let's buckle down for a profitable 9 days ahead.
Tonight's DFS Headlines
There are 8 games on Monday's card, can we knock that down to 7 for DFS purposes when the Pistons visit the Pacers? The O/U is just 205 in this contest.
The Trail Blazers have a favorable matchup on paper, as the T'Wolves rank 25th or worse defensively vs. 4 of 5 starting positions. Anybody who has been frequently burned by the likes of Al-Farouq Aminu ($5,300) or Moe Harkless ($4,900) knows that Portland and "value" aren't always a good marriage.
The Bulls and Knicks have combined to lose 10 straight. This tank fest could turn into a DFS game with high scoring potential as both squads employ the Swiss cheese defensive approach.
So Chicago, New York, the Cavs and the Suns have lost 21 games in a row collectively. The Bulls and Knicks meet up but so does Cleveland and Phoenix in a glorious scheduling snafu. Do we hammer all of these games where atrocious defense trumps mediocre offense?
Guards
Devin Booker (DK: $10,100 FD: $11,500 Y! $47) Ownership: 15.96%
Sure the falloff is probably coming - that's what happens when you've posted three straight 68+ fantasy point nights - but Devin Booker looks like a must-play until then. Booker has rattled off 59, 50, and 48 points scored over the last three games, shooting the ball at least 29 times in each outing. The Cleveland defense that has allowed 116+ points in each of the last four comes to town on Monday, so projections are high for Booker yet again.
Jeremy Lamb (DK: $5,400 FD: $4,500 Y! $22) Ownership 1.48%
There's potential for a bounce back back game from Jeremy Lamb, as Charlotte is in a back-to-back. Lamb played just 20 minutes in a blowout loss to the Warriors on Sunday and still had an 11/3/5 night, which shows some signs that he may be recovered from an ankle injury. Over the last two weeks of March, Lamb had 5 of 9 games with at least 28fp, including three 37+ point games. Lamb could get big minutes off the bench Monday whether the game with the Jazz is close or a blowout.
Trey Burke (DK: $4,000 FD: $3,600 Y! $10) Ownership 0.8%
Trey Burke is another value option with upside despite being in leg two of a back-to-back. The Mavs scored a 106-103 upset in OKC yesterday and are back home to host the Sixers on Monday. Burke logged 30 minutes vs. the Thunder, but exploded with a 10-18 night from the field with 8 assists. Luka Doncic is questionable to miss a 2nd straight game on Monday, which will continue to open things up for Burke who has great value in this one.
Forwards
Jae Crowder (DK: $5,000 FD: $5,600 Y!: $15) Ownership 3.7%
Jae Crowder came up big on Friday with 18 points and a 33 point fantasy night. He should have continued value today, as Derrick Favors is ruled out for Utah with a back injury. The Jazz are -11.5 vs. Charlotte who is on a back-to-back, but the Hornets lost by nearly 50 to Golden State on Sunday and shouldn't be that fatigued.
Al-Farouq Aminu (DK: $5,300 FD: $5,400 Y!: $11) Ownership 4.71%
He's got a tendency to let you down in big moments but Al-Farouq Aminu has been a pretty consistent producer ever since the injuries to CJ McCollum and now Jusuf Nurkic. Aminu was 0-9 from the field in Detroit on Saturday, which broke a solid run of three 30+ fantasy points in the last four games. Aminu has a very favorable matchup vs. a T'Wolves defense that has allowed 36+ fantasy points to three straight PF's. Aminu has 7+ rebounds in five straight games including two outings with 11 boards. He had a 14/8/3 night vs. Minnesota back in early December - and that was with Nurkic and McCollum in the lineup.
D.J. Wilson (DK: $3,800 FD: $3,500 Y! $10) Ownership 2.84%
Milwaukee went for it yesterday, using up a lot of resources in ultimately falling 135-136 to Atlanta. Those resources were kind of thin, however, as Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo joined a slew of injured Bucks in missing the game. Milwaukee is in a back-to-back vs. Brooklyn, but there's still solid value on D.J. Wilson who had a solid 12/7/5 line in 34 minutes. There should be a good bounce back for Wilson, who hadn't played more than 16 minutes in any of the four games prior. Middleton (groin), Antetokounmpo (ankle) could both - or perhaps should both - miss the Nets game, as Milwaukee holds a 3 game lead for the 1 seed in the East with just 5 to play.
Center
Mitchell Robinson (DK: $6,300, FD; $8,000 Y!:$23 ) Ownership 8.66%
New York and Chicago is going to be a thrilling matchup today...for DFS purposes. Perhaps nobody can benefit more from that than Mitchell Robinson. The Knicks C has been trending upwards lately, posting 40+ fp nights in 3 of 5. He's started at C in the last two, 37 and 31 minutes while grabbing a total of 35 rebounds. The Bulls are absolutely decimated by injuries to wind down the year and Robinson should continue his strong play.
Utility Player
Damian Lillard (DK:$10,000 FD:$10,500 Y!: $46) Ownership 17.19%
There are going to be a lot of value plays to wind down the year as teams empty their benches and avoid risk to star players. That value for Monday leaves $10,100 for the utility spot which makes Damian Lillard the play. Although he's been up-and-down the last four, Lillard is still a potential 60-70 point fantasy player every night now after the injuries to McCollum and Nurkic.
It's one of the last weeks for a full full sports slate that includes the NBA regular season, so let's enjoy it. For more discussion, feel free to check out Carl Taylor (@dailydogsports) on Twitter for sports betting talk and DFS news.
