Top NBA Plays 4/10 | Reverse TLC Night (Plenty of Scrubs)
It's the last day of the NBA regular season and there are 3 playoff seedings still to be determined in the East and 4 in the West. Other than that, there are still a bunch of meaningless games on Wednesday's finale. Not only that, with back-to-back 11 game slates yesterday and today, there's a slew of teams on the second leg of a back-to-back. What all this means is that who knows what players are going to be in action tonight? Either way, it's interesting, so let's get digging.
Tonight's DFS Headlines
The Pistons are in the playoffs with a win and they've drawn a great matchup in their last contest of the regular season with a visit to the Knicks.
The Hornets will be scoreboard watching during their game tonight. A Charlotte win over the Magic coupled with a Detroit loss puts the Hornets into the playoffs.
The Trail Blazers can leap frog Houston for the 3 seed with a win over the Bulls today.
The bottom of the Western Conference is a log jam with the Clippers, Spurs, and Thunder all within a game of each other.
Guards
Quinn Cook (DK: $3800 FD: $4000 Y! $10) Ownership: 1.05%
Not much to say about the Quinn Cook play tonight except that a) he's cheap and b) Golden State is resting Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson among others vs. Memphis. The Grizzlies have 9-10 guys on the injury report themselves, so there's quality minutes vs. inferior opponents for Cook and the Warriors.
Seth Curry (DK: $4300 FD: $4000 Y! $10) Ownership 4.28%
Portland has a very meaningful game tonight as they try to climb up into the #3 seed and jump Houston. That being said, Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum's usage might be down after both logging significant time last night at the Lakers. The Kings come to town tonight with nothing to play for, so the Trail Blazers could actually be in a blowout spot anyways. Either way, it's shaping up to be another solid night for Seth Curry, who got back on track with a 31 point fantasy night vs. LA. With an O/U of 230.5, there's expected to be some points scored here so Curry is sure to have a few of those.
Jeremy Lamb (DK: $6100 FD: $6400 Y! $18) Ownership 4.35%
The Hornets are in a must win situation tonight (and need some help from the Knicks, the poor guys). It's the same spot Charlotte has been in the last four games and they've been victorious in each. Jeremy Lamb has been a big part of that run with 40+ fantasy points in two of the last three. The Magic come to town and do have seeding implications on the line, but Orlando is in the playoffs and could take the lax approach on the road Wednesday.
Forwards
Tyreke Evans (DK: $4500 FD: $4000 Y!: $10) Ownership 6.58%
The Pacers are locked into the 5 seed in the East and will be resting players such as Bojan Bogdanovic, Myles Turner, Wesley Matthews, Thaddeus Young, and Damontis Sabonis tonight vs. Atlanta. This leaves some usage available for Tyreke Evans who will split time at SG and SF. The Hawks have allowed 30+ fantasy points to five straight shooting guards. Evans has four days of rest after missing the last game and is up against a Hawks defense that has allowed 120+ in 6 of 10.
Jonathan Simmons (DK: $3400 FD: $3500 Y!: $10) Ownership 0%
Chicago @ Philadelphia is going to be a numbers game - mostly because you won't know any of the players on the court and will have to just call them by their number. The Bulls are decimated by injuries, but the Sixers have nothing to play for and will likely be without Joel Embiid, JJ Redick, Jimmy Butler, Ben Simmons, and Tobias Harris to name a few. This makes Jonathan Simmons a dark horse play, as he should see very extended minutes vs. a bad Chicago defense. Simmons had 14 points, 8 assists, and 2 rebounds last night in his first real extended action with Philadelphia in over a month.
Lamarcus Aldridge (DK: $8000 FD: $8400 Y! $32) Ownership 9.84%
Keep an eye on the lineup late because...Popovich. San Antonio does need a win vs. Dallas though to stay out of the 8 seed and a 1st round meeting with Golden State. Lamarcus Aldridge has a favorable matchup as the Mavs are in a B2B while San Antonio has had the last 2 nights off.
Center
Andre Drummond (DK: $10100, FD; $10300 Y!:$47 ) Ownership 15.34%
No sense for the Pistons to rest Andre Drummond because Detroit needs a win to get into the postseason (or a Hornets loss). You always worry about a Detroit blowout in this one against the Knicks, but the Pistons are no sure thing lately, having lost 4 of 5 plus they are on the road. Drummond has posted a 20/17 and and 15/23 line in the last two games and has 17+ rebounds in 7 of the last 8.
Utility Player
Kemba Walker (DK:$9500 FD:$9800 Y!: $40) Ownership 9.42%
Kemba Walker's production was "down" a bit last night (38 fp) but that's what happens when you win by 27 vs. the Cavs. The Hornets are back home tonight, needing a win (and also a Pistons loss) to make the postseason. It should be a much closer contest Wednesday vs. the Magic, and Walker is playing in front of the Spectrum Center crowd for what could be the last time...as a home player at least.
