Top NBA Plays 4/13| Come a Little Closer

It's looking like a very competitive 6-game slate in the NBA tonight, with five games having a point spread of three points or less. Even the expected blowout between OKC and Utah could be a little closer than the -16 line, considering the Jazz are on the b2b and the Thunder have had 2 nights off.

Let's see if the oddsmakers are right in their projections...

Today's NBA Matchups

Clippers (-2.5) @ Pacers, O/U 229, 7:30 PM ET

LAC could be a bit vulnerable here, heading out on the road after playing their last 9 at home and not having Kawhi Leonard (foot). The Pacers have been in Bizarro World lately, scoring 130+ in three of their last six, but also allowing 125+ in three of those.

Hawks @ Raptors (-3), O/U 223.5, 7:30 PM ET

Trae Young (calf) has the questionable tag after he sat out Sunday's win over the Hornets. That might be the only reason Toronto is a -3 favorite in this one (although they are getting healthier) as Atlanta has quietly won 6 of their last 7.

Lakers @ Hornets (-1.5), O/U 208.5, 8:00 PM ET

L.A gets the back to back tonight after losing by 15 at the Knicks last night. This will probably be a low scoring, ugly affair

Thunder @ Jazz (-16.5), O/U 223, 9:00 PM ET

The Jazz lost by 4 to the Wizards last night despite 42 real points (57fp) from Donovan Mitchell. Oddsmakers still aren't expecting anything from OKC, who have lost six straight, five of them by at least 20 points.

Heat @ Suns (-3), O/U 216, 10:00 PM ET

Phoenix was up 18 heading into the 4th quarter against Houston last night, but only ended up winning by 6. Having such a big lead most of the game leaves minutes manageable ahead of a matchup with a Heat team that has won 6 of 7.

Celtics @ Trail Blazers (-1), O/U 227.5, 10:00 PM ET

The C's have turned things around, winning 5 of the last 6, heading back up the elevator in the Eastern Conference. Portland has only beaten OKC and Detroit in their last six games.

Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables

Paul George DK $8.7k | FD $9k

@Indiana

Paul George visits his old stomping grounds and gets the 3.38% and 9+ fp boost with Kawhi Leonard (foot) out of the lineup. It doesn't hurt that George has been on a roll lately either, going for 32+ real points in the last three he's played.

Malcolm Brogdon DK $6.7k | FD $7.5k

vs. Clippers

Still, a nice DK pricing for Malcolm Brogdon considering PGs vs. the Clippers is a thing the last two games. Over the weekend L.A gave up a 14 point, 13 assist game to Kevin Porter, Jr. (42.5fp) and 18/13 (49fp) to Cory Joseph. Brogdon himself is coming off 29/9/11 (63fp) on Sunday so the potential is there.

Devonte' Graham DK $6.3k | FD $6.6k

vs. Lakers

There's not a ton of GPP upside for Devonte' Graham, but he's been a solid 5-6X player in 6 of the last 8 games. Graham plays the Lakers who are on the back to back, and who gave up a combined 34 real points to Knicks PGs Elfrid Payton and Derrick Rose last night. Terry Rozier (knee) and PJ Washington (ankle) are also doubtful for Charlotte.

Gary Trent DK $6k | FD $6.2k

vs. Atlanta

Kyle Lowry (rest) is out tonight and Fred VanVleet (hip) remains out. That gives Gary Trent upside as he had 44 real points when those two sat out on Saturday. A matchup with a Hawks team that has allowed 37+ fp to 4 of the last 5 SGs is great timing as well.

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Jaylen Brown DK $7.8k | FD $8

@Portland

Jaylen Brown has upside tonight solely because he's up against Portland, who has taken a dip defensively vs. the SF since acquiring Norman Powell. Brown will also get time at SG with Evan Fournier (illness) out, and the Blazers rank 26th vs. that position. Brown has 40+ fp in three straight, but 50 is doable here.

Bogdan Bogdanovic DK $6.8k | FD $7.3k

@Toronto

An even better spot for Bogdan Bogdanovic here if Trae Young sits again. That was the case Sunday when Boggy hit 8 of 16 three pointers en route to a 48fp afternoon. Young is likely to play, but it's still a good matchup for Bogdanovic, who has gone for 20+ real points in 6 of 8. Toronto is allowing an average of 42.7 fp to the last three SFs.

Miles Bridges DK $5.8k | FD $6.2k

vs. LAL

Miles Bridges is like a thoroughbred that knows he won the race right now because his dunk over Clint Capela on Sunday is all anybody's been talking about. Bridges has been in the perfect lineup in 3 of the 5 games since Gordon Hayward got hurt and tonight gets a 10% usage and 11.38fp bump without Rozier, Washington, and others.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Clint Capela DK $8.5k | FD $9.3k

@ Toronto

Got to take a chance on Clint Capela tonight coming off a 15 rebound game against the Hornets and up against Toronto's worst team in the NBA in terms of rebound rate. The fact that Capela has his tail between his legs after doing a Miles Bridges poster photoshoot on Sunday doesn't hurt either.

Enes Kanter DK $6.1k | FD $5.4k

vs. Boston

Enes Kanter can't seem to see the court when Jusuf Nurkic plays, but maybe that changes tonight against his old team Boston? Kanter had only 20 fp on Sunday, but that was on the back-to-back after his 30 rebound performance vs. Detroit the night before. Let him play, Terry (Butters) Stotts.
