Top NBA Plays 4/15| Peacing Out
Some of the biggest news on a quiet 4-game Thursday slate is LaMarcus Aldridge bouncing - not a ball, but out of the NBA as he announced his retirement.
It's somewhat of a shock and there are a lot of jokes making the rounds about that's what happens when you play with Kyrie Irving for a couple of weeks. Aldridge suffered from an irregular heartbeat the last game, so he's putting his health first and to that, kudos.
Maybe this gives Blake Griffin a bit more value moving forward, but overall Aldridge's exit doesn't affect the DFS landscape all that much. It still would've been nice if Aldridge had John Kruk'd it, getting a dunk and then cruising right to the locker room.
Today's NBA Matchups
Bucks (-5) @ Hawks, O/U 229, 7:30 PM ET
Milwaukee is on the back to back after the almost forgotten about Monday afternoon start yesterday in Minneapolis. The Bucks were up by 30 at one point though, and nobody on the team played more than 26 minutes. Trae Young (calf) has missed the last two for the Hawks and is questionable tonight.
Warriors (-8) @ Cavs, O/U 224.5, 8:00 PM ET
GSW had a glorified shootaround last night, beating OKC 147-109. Steph Curry had 42 points in 29 minutes vs. the Thunder and has shot 21-34 from three in his last two games. The Cavs also played last night, beating Charlotte 103-90 behind 25 from Taurean Prince off the bench.
Lineup Note: Collin Sexton is a GTD.
Celtics (-6) @ Lakers, O/U 211.5, 10:00 PM ET
Boston wraps up a quick little 3-game West Coast swing with a great chance of pushing their win streak to five straight games. On just a 4-game slate you have to look at this tilt a bit, but the C's have held 3 of the last 6 opponents to under 100, and the Lakers 7 of the last 10 to 104 or less.
Kings @ Suns (-13), O/U 234, 10:00 PM ET
Pretty lofty betting total for a Suns game, but that's what happens against a Kings defense that gave up 25/15/11 to Russ Westbrook last night and another 31 points to Bradley Beal.
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
Steph Curry DK $10.6k | FD $10.5k
@ Cleveland
Why not? Steph Curry has hit a combined 21 three pointers in the last two games and now gets to go up against a Cleveland team that is 4th worst by allowing opponents to hit 38.3% from beyond the arc.
Jrue Holiday DK $8.4k | FD $8.4k
@ Atlanta
Jrue Holiday has fell below projections the last two games, but that's also been in a 37 point win at Atlanta and a 25 point victory in Minnesota last night. A closer game with Milwaukee on the b2b, as well as no Giannis Antetokounmpo should get Holiday back up to the high 40's+ again.
lineup note: Giannis is questionable
Cameron Payne DK $3.5k | FD $3.9k
vs. Sacramento
Possible blowout for the Suns tonight as -12.5 favorites vs. a Sacramento team on the b2b? That would mean a minutes bump for Cameron Payne vs. a Kings squad that is 23rd against the PG. Payne has scored in double digits in three straight and also has 7 assists in two of those.
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
Jayson Tatum DK $9.4k | FD $9.4
@Lakers
Jayson Tatum has gotten into the perfect lineup in four straight, and tonight is up against a Lakers team that has 9 players on the injury list including four starters from the last time out.
Bogdan Bogdanovic DK $7.2k | FD $7.2k
vs. Milwaukee
Nice spot for Bogdan Bogdanovic if Trae Young sits again. The Bogger has 40+ fp the last two games even though Atlanta has scored just 108 and 105 points. It should be a faster pace vs. Milwaukee.
Taurean Prince DK $5.3k | FD $5.3k
vs. Golden State
He's probably not going to have another 9-13 shooting night like last night (39fp) but you have to like the upside for the price on Taurean Prince. The Cleveland SF has hit 6X+ in 4 of 6, and things can happen with both the Cavs and Warriors on the b2b.
Kent Bazemore DK $4.9k | FD $5k
@Cleveland
There's no Kelly Oubre, Jr. again tonight, putting Kent Bazemore into the lineup yet again with a solid matchup. The Cavs have allowed 38+ fp to three of the last four SFs they've faced.
Tonight's Center Position Notables
Deandre Ayton DK $6.7k | FD $7.4k
vs. Sacramento
It's likely Deandre Ayton or Clint Capela as the higher priced C's on tonight's mini-slate. Andre Drummond is a GTD and Jarrett Allen is on the b2b in just his second game back from injury.
There's upside for Ayton, playing against a Sacramento team that will likely be without starting C Richaun Holmes (hamstring) in this one. Ayton has a double-double in five of the last six.
