Top NBA Plays 4/17| When Bad is Good

It's just a 5-game main slate on Saturday night as the Jazz and Lakers got off to an early start. Two of the better targets kind of look like Cleveland and Detroit, which just goes to show even when they're out of it in the big picture, a team can still be a great DFS option.

Today's NBA Matchups

Pistons @ Wizards (-4.5), O/U 228.5, 8:00 PM ET

Detroit was able to beat OKC last night even without Wayne Ellington, Hamidou Diallo, and Jerami Grant among others. Ellington and Grant should be back tonight, against a Wizards team that is also on the back to back. Washington went into OT to beat the Pelicans by 2, and since they're tied in the 10 seed (play-in tournament) is this a full throttle game?

Cavs @ Bulls (-1.5), O/U 213.5, 8:00 PM ET

The Chicago defense gave up 125 to Memphis last night, does that make the Cavs a target as the Bulls now go on the back to back? Cleveland did get 50 points from their backcourt last time out vs. Golden State, but the Bulls' weakness seems to be more in the frontcourt. Coby White did have 27 playing for Zach LaVine (health and safety) last night.

Warriors @ Celtics (-5), O/U 227.5, 8:30 PM ET

A couple of red hot teams meet up as Golden State and Boston have rattled off a combined 9 wins in a row. Steph Curry has gone for 50+ fp in seven straight, but the Celtics have held 4 of the last 5 PGs to under 28fp.

Grizzlies @ Bucks (-8.5), O/U 236.5, 9:00 PM ET

What's ownership going to be like for Giannis Antetokounmpo on a 5-game slate and after he hit just 3X vs. the Hawks on Thursday? It's interesting since Memphis is on the short turnaround after an 11 point win in Chicago last night.

Spurs @ Suns (-9.5), O/U 228.5, 10:00 PM ET

San Antonio was in a hard fought 107-106 loss to the Trail Blazers last night, their 7th defeat in the last 9 games. That puts the Suns in a potential blowout spot as they've won 11 of the last 12 and can make a move on Utah now that Donovan Mitchell may miss some time with an ankle injury.

Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables

Kemba Walker DK $6.9k | FD $6.8k

vs. Golden State

A close game would be good for Kemba Walker's production, and the Celtics and Warriors have combined to win 9 straight. The Warriors just gave up 50 real points to the Cleveland starting backcourt last game.

Derrick White DK $6.5 | FD $5.6k

@ Phoenix

Derrick White played a manageable 31 minutes last night, leaving him somewhat rested for tonight's matchup with the Suns. Phoenix has the #5 scoring defense in the league, but Devin Booker has had his share of struggles on defense. Buddy Hield had 24 vs. Phoenix on Thursday, and Kevin Porter, Jr. had 22 points and 14 assists on Monday.

Cameron Payne DK $3.5k | FD $3.8k

vs. Memphis

Phoenix could be in a blowout spot hosting the Spurs who are playing on the back to back after a grueling one point loss to Portland last night. Cameron Payne has stepped up in those lopsided Phoenix wins, going for 14 points and 7 assists in a 28 point victory over the Wizards and again when beating Miami by 20 over the last four games.

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Jerami Grant DK $6.5k | FD $7.1

@Washington

Nice DK price for Jerami Grant, as he will be one of the freshest players on the court after sitting out last night (rest). Both Detroit and Washington are in the back to back, and Grant took 21 shots on Wednesday as the Pistons continue to navigate through injuries.

Kyle Anderson DK $5.9k | FD $6.4k

@Milwaukee

A lot of people will be going back to the Dillon Brooks well tonight for a slightly cheaper price ($5.4), and with good reason, after he hit for 32 real points last night vs. the Bulls. Kyle Anderson is a good play too though, as he only logged 25 minutes vs. Chicago, and had 36fp despite going 2-8 from the field and 0-5 from three. It's an up-pace game vs. Milwaukee, and Solomon Hill had 18 points and 5 rebounds at the PF vs. the Bulls last game (just an 18.8 fp average).

Juan Toscano-Anderson DK $3.6k | FD $4k

@Boston

JTA has upside after going for 20/7/3 last time out. Sure that was in a blowout spot vs. Cleveland, but the performance warrants another extended minutes night vs. Boston. It's a price punt with Oubre still out.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Nikola Vucevic DK $9.8k | FD $9k

vs. Cleveland

Ownership could be down a bit since Chicago is on the back to back and Cleveland has been fairly decent vs. the C position lately. Nikola Vucevic has some value tonight though, as he seems like he could put up Jokic-ish with the 3% usage and 19.57 fp bump without Zach LaVine. It's just one game, but Vucevic went for 24/14/6 (54fp) last night vs. Memphis.

Jarrett Allen DK $7.6k | FD $7k

@Chicago

Chicago did a decent job of containing Jonas Valanciunas last night (16/7/5) but you still target them tonight, especially on the back to back. Jarrett Allen has gone for 15 & 8 and 17 & 13 in his two games since returning from concussion.
