Top NBA Plays 4/2 | Quality Over Quantity

There was a loaded NBA slate on Monday but it also featured some real tank sessions in the Knicks hosting the Bulls and the Cavs visiting the Suns. There were also low scoring affairs between Detroit/Indiana and Miami/Boston. There are only 4 games on today's card. But at first glance, at least they appear have some quality DFS potential.

Tonight's DFS Headlines

LeBron James has officially been shut down for the year. It will be interesting to see who steps up for the Lakers with James gone for good (for the year). There's tons of potential LA production vs. Oklahoma City today.

Houston and Sacramento should be a nice up pace game, as it's one of four O/U's in the 220's tonight.

Atlanta has been eliminated from postseason contention but is still a fun watch, as they've put up 129+ points in 3 of 4. Oddsmakers are expecting another shootout at San Antonio (227.5).

Golden State and Denver flex their respective Western Conference muscles tonight in the Bay. The Warriors currently hold a 1 game lead over the Nuggets for the #1 seed.

The Lakers are a solid DFS option tonight - on paper at least.

Guards

Rajon Rondo (DK: $6,600 FD: $7,500 Y! $27) Ownership: 12.57%

Rajon Rondo is on a 1-year, $9 million dollar contract with the Lakers that is quickly coming to an end. He's still got 5 games to audition for next year's paper either in LA or somewhere else. Rondo has 17 and 12 assists the last two games and just went for 24 points Sunday vs. the Pelicans. With James out for the year, Josh Hart now joining him and Kyle Kuzma, Reggie Bullock, and Tyson Chandler in danger of missing the game vs. OKC, Rondo is a must play.

Trae Young (DK: $8,300 FD: $9,100 Y! $41) Ownership 40.95%

Speaking of auditions, Trae Young has been launching as he tries to conquer the Rookie of the Year Award. Dallas is close to possibly shutting Luka Doncic down for the year, so you can bet Young is going to continue his Rec ball type play. He has put up 19, 25, 24, and 20 shots over the last four games, each time going for at least 48 fantasy points. With the price, you're going to want that number to be closer to 60-70, which could be possible vs. San Antonio who gave up a 69.25 night to Kemba Walker a week ago.

Young has had a nice floor lately, but we want ceiling for the price.

Derrick White (DK: $4,700 FD: $6,200 Y! $17) Ownership 11.2%

If you're going to play Trae Young, expecting him to keep shooting the ball at an incredible frequency, you have to also expect him to keep defense as a 5th or 6th priority. The Hawks have given up three 50+ fp games out of the last four PG's they've faced. Sure there were some big names on that list like Ben Simmons and Damian Lillard, but on Sunday Milwaukee's Tim Frazier had 20 points, 15 assists, and 7 rebounds. Granted, it was in 53 minutes but for Derrick White's price tag Tuesday, a game in the mid 30's has value. He had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists when the teams met up in early March.

Derrick White has nice potential Tuesday.

Forwards

Justin Anderson (DK: $4,400 FD: $3,600 Y!: $11) Ownership 23.35%

For $4,400, Justin Anderson is worth a flier to see if he's built confidence on his 9-16, 12 rebound night that helped produce a 50 point fantasy night. Today will be Anderson's 3rd start of the season and with 120+ points possible from the Hawks, you have to think he gets at least a chunk of those.

Eric Gordon (DK: $4,200 FD: $4,600 Y!: $15) Ownership 20.8%

$4,200 is just too cheap for a starting SF with the pace the Rockets and Kings are expected to play today. Eric Gordon should be familiar with the Sacramento defensive approach - the teams just played Saturday. Gordon logged 37 minutes in that contest and was able to get a dozen shot attempts. A 19/5/4 spot here (or more) sure seems feasible, as Sacramento plays their 3rd game in four nights.

Rudy Gay (DK: $5,700 FD: $6,500 Y! $21) Ownership 15.88%

The Hawks are scheduled to give starting PF John Collins rest today, which means Vince Carter will get the starting nod vs. the Spurs. Rudy Gay should be in line for a decent night vs. what amounts to be a PF-by-committee approach. Gay has, at the very least, posted solid rebounding numbers with 9+ in 5 of 6 and he also had 18 points Sunday vs. the Kings.

Center

Clint Capela (DK: $7,500, FD; $9,000 Y!:$30 ) Ownership 10.78%

Clint Capela has played in 2 of the 3 matchups between the Rockets and Kings this year, posting a 24/15 and 23/16 lines. He matches up well with the Sacramento front court which is going to be especially true if Marvin Bagley III (illness) is limited. The Rockets are on the 1st game of a B2B, but also want to stay ahead of the Jazz for the 4 seed and home court. Here's to Sacramento keeping it close in their first home game after a long road stretch.

Capela has upside vs. the Kings front court

Utility Player

Buddy Hield (DK:$6,900 FD:$7,500 Y!: $31) Ownership 19.6%

De'Aaron Fox has been somewhat shut down vs. Houston this season (18, 19, 6 points) and Marvin Bagley could be limited with an illness. Therefore, opportunities should be abound for Buddy Hield. The Kings SG has at least 18 field goal attempts in 5 of 7 and should continue that trend in an up pace game.

It's one of the last weeks for a full full sports slate that includes the NBA regular season, so let's enjoy it. For more discussion, feel free to check out Carl Taylor (@dailydogsports) on Twitter for sports betting talk and DFS news.
