Top NBA Plays 4/24 | 1st Round Winding Down

Four teams are in action tonight and depending on the results, there could be just one more 1st round series to decide after this (Nuggets / Spurs). Digging in on these two game slates in the postseason has been challenging, but also interesting. It's cards like tonight where one player literally makes or breaks the night because there's such a lack in variance. Onward!

Tonight's DFS Headlines

The Clippers had that one good comeback game but otherwise it's been all Warriors. Golden State is expected to punch their 2nd round ticket today as -14 point favorites.

The Jazz salvaged their season with a home win on Monday and have the played the Rockets much better the last two games. Even so, it's back to Houston for Utah down 1-3 in the series.

Guards

Ricky Rubio (DK: $5700 FD: $7400 Y! $25) Ownership: 40.38%

Ricky Rubio was a spark plug for the Jazz on Monday on his way to a 43 point fantasy night. Sure the series shifts back to Houston tonight, but Rubio also went for 43 in Game 2 at the Toyota Center. One thing you like about the Jazz PG is that he can score fantasy points in a variety of ways, as he's scored 15+ points in 3 of 4, has at least 6 assists in each game, has a couple 4 rebound nights and also had 4 steals in Game 2.

Chris Paul (DK: $7100 FD: $8100 Y! $33) Ownership 25.17%

Chris Paul was great in Game 4, but was he feeding off being a villain in front of the Utah crowd? The Rockets are back home tonight and you'd think Paul will be fired up in a close out game. Paul had 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists on Monday, which was easily his best game of the series. Was that game a sign that the Houston PG has cracked the Utah defense?

Paul was great Monday but was it a one time outburst?

Lou Williams (DK: $6900 FD: $7500 Y! $30) Ownership 34.96%

For some reason Lou Williams didn't like going back to the Staples Center for Games 3 and 4. The Clippers PG has posted just 27 and 24 fantasy points the last two but can get a boost in a reverse splits game back at Oracle. In Games 1 and 2 of the series in the Bay, Williams posted 21 and 22 field goal attempts and averaged 10 assists per game. Does he rediscover that intensity tonight?

Forwards

Danilo Gallinari (DK: $6300 FD: $7500 Y!: $28) Ownership 19.68%

There's no reason for Danilo Gallinari to not be launching tonight, as the Clippers' season is on the line. Gallinari actually played better in the first two games of the series at Golden State, averaging 37.5 fp compared to just 25.5 back at the Staples Center. Gallinari shot the ball 20 times in Game 4 and also has 6+ rebounds in 3 of 4 games so far.

Jae Crowder (DK: $4300 FD: $4700 Y!: $14) Ownership 17.16%

A) Jae Crowder played with great energy in Game 4 and B) he's very cheap today. Yes, it's likely that Crowder fed off the Salt Lake City crowd en route to a 23 point, 4 rebound night. There's reason to believe that parlays over to tonight's game, as his 32 minutes in the start on Monday were much more than the previous series high of 23. With Utah winning thanks to Crowder's usage, Quin Snyder would be wise to keep the big man on the court tonight.

Eric Gordon (DK: $4500 FD: $4800 Y! $15) Ownership 36.25%

It felt like Eric Gordon was having a great game on Monday but he frustratingly only finished with 22 fantasy points. This is despite a 5-10 night from three point range. Gordon is never going to give you a lot of (or any) rebounds or assists, but he is a scorer and was in a perfect lineup in both of the first two games in Houston. For a guy that gives you 35-38 minutes and shoots that many deep balls, $4,500 isn't a bad price.

Gordon should be putting up 30+ point fantasy nights repeatedly but he doesn't do anything but score.

Center

Rudy Gobert (DK: $6800, FD; $8300 Y!:$36 ) Ownership 34.96%

There's good value at the C position tonight and after Clint Capela's 15 point fantasy dud on Monday, Rudy Gobert becomes the play. Gobert had two solid rebounding games at the Toyota Center, averaging 12 boards per game to start the series. The Jazz big man doesn't get a lot of shots, but he can produce some intangibles, as evidenced by his 10 blocks the last two games.

Utility Player

Kevin Durant (DK:$8200 FD:$10,500 Y!: $41) Ownership 47.8%

There's quite the dropoff after James Harden (on DK at least) and Kevin Durant has value for his price tonight. Durant has gone for 50+ fantasy points in each of the last two games and has 21 and 23 field goal attempts over that span. Durant averaged just 39 fppg in the first two games of the series at Oracle, but expect him to have a huge night as the Warriors are ready to close out this series and move on to Round 2.
