Top NBA Plays 4/29 | Nice Monday of Hoops Ahead
There are two high stakes NBA playoff games on the books tonight, so there are a few lineup options for your DFS night: The same goes for Tuesday while a single game takes center stage on Wednesday and Thursday. Let's see how the week starts off and where DraftKings and company decide to place the value:
Tonight's DFS Headlines
The 76ers didn't get much of anything going offensively in Game 1 vs. the Raptors. Do we expect a bounce back game from Joel Embiid and Friends tonight?
The Trail Blazers have been sitting for nearly a week after dispersing of OKC in Round 1. Portland is a well rested team as they face the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.
Guards
JJ Redick (DK: $4700 FD: $4500 Y! $16) Ownership: 31.1%
If Game 2 between Philadelphia and Toronto plays out like the 1st one, there's good upside with JJ Redick - if he hits his shots. Redick was able to put up 12 three point attempts, hitting 5 of them. Redick also logged 32 minutes as the team's starting SG. He also had 26 points (31 fp) in Game 3 on the road at Brooklyn in the 1st round, so the potential is at least there.
Jamal Murray (DK: $6500 FD: $7700 Y! $26) Ownership 43.8%
Russell Westbrook was great vs. the Portland backcourt in Round 1, going for at least 42 fp in 4 of 5 including a 54, 58, and 79 point night. Jamal Murray should have a fraction of that success at least, as he too had some solid games in Round 1 vs. a much more stingy San Antonio defense. Murray had at least 23 points in 4 of the last 6 vs. the Spurs and went for at least 35 fantasy points in 3 of the last 4.
Gary Harris (DK: $4900 FD: $4800 Y! $18) Ownership 25.41%
There's nice salary relief with upside on Gary Harris, costing under $5,000 on DK while also logging 40 minutes for Denver in Game 7 vs. the Spurs. Harris logged at least 34 in 5 of 7 vs. San Antonio. It's hard to know what to expect of a SG vs. the Portland defense, as OKC's Terrance Ferguson shot just 25 times in 5 games in Round 1 vs. the Blazers. Harris has at least 8 fga in every postseason game so far and had 26+ fantasy points in 4 of 6 in Round 1 vs. a much better Spurs defense.
Forwards
Tobias Harris (DK: $7200 FD: $8500 Y!: $31) Ownership 42.84%
One of the few bright spots for Philadelphia in their 13 point loss to the Raptors was Tobias Harris. The PF went for 14 points (6-17) but also grabbed 15 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. That was good for a 44 point fantasy night, Harris' 3rd of 44+ in the last four games. Joel Embiid missed Monday morning's shoot around with gastroenteritis and if he's not full strength, that's even better potential for Harris.
Pascal Siakam (DK: $7300 FD: $8300 Y!: $33) Ownership 35.68%
Toronto's Pascal Siakam continued his strong postseason in Game 1 vs. the 76ers with 29 points and 7 rebounds. He was able to do whatever he wanted vs. the Philadelphia defense, hitting 12 of 15 shots. It was the 4th time out of 6 playoff games that Siakam went for 24+ points and he's also had at least 9 boards in half those outings.
Maurice Harkless (DK: $4500 FD: $5400 Y! $19) Ownership 42.96%
Maurice Harkless has a bit of upside tonight, as we don't know what to fully expect from Portland as they visit Denver for Game 1. DeMar DeRozan had 40+ fp at SF in 3 of the last 5 vs. the Nuggets. Obviously, DeRozan has much more fantasy potential than Harkless, but the Blazers SF did have 17/7, 15/10, and 14/9 in 3 of the last 4 vs. OKC in Round 1. With Enes Kanter questionable for Game 1 with a shoulder injury, Portland could rely on Harkless that much more.
Center
Nikola Jokic (DK: $10000, FD; $11300 Y!:$45 ) Ownership 37.48%
You gotta like the upside on Nikola Jokic on any night but especially in the postseason and with Portland's starting C Kanter battling a separated shoulder. Jokic had some huge games in Round 1 vs. the Spurs, including a 21/15/10 line in the closeout Game 7 that was preceded by 43/12 in Game 6. Those numbers came against LaMarcus Aldridge and a defensive-minded Spurs squad, so Jokic should be just as good (if not better) in the Portland series.
Utility Player
Serge Ibaka (DK:$4200 FD:$5300 Y!: $17) Ownership 10.92%
Serge Ibaka had a down Game 1 but Toronto may be able to exploit the Sixers front line if Embiid is less than 100%. Ibaka, overall, has had a solid playoffs, posting double figures in points in 3 of 5 vs. Orlando while also grabbing at least 8 boards in 4 of those games. Philadelphia held the PF to 7 points and 6 rebounds, but a bounce back game should be in the cards.
