Top NBA Plays 8/13| Elimination Day, Just How They Drew It Up

Tonight marks arguably the most important day on the schedule since the NBA bubble reconvened. The Grizzlies, Suns, Spurs, and Trail Blazers all have postseason ramifications on the line and are in action today.

Are these the four teams to target tonight considering their opponents largely won't gain anything win or lose? There are 7-games total on the schedule today, but two have a pre-chocolate-chip-pancakes start and are thus off the main slate.

Let's see how this penultimate game of the regular season plays out:

Bucks vs. Grizzlies, 231 O/U - 4:00 PM ET

Memphis has been atrocious in the bubble, with a 1-6 record, but can still capture the 8 seed with a win and a Portland loss later. The Grizzlies should be in a good spot because Milwaukee a) has nothing to play for and b) will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo channeled his inner Zidane in head butting Moe Wagner Tuesday.

Mavericks vs. Suns, 237.5 O/U - 4:00 PM ET

The Suns have captured the hearts of America with their 7-0 record. Phoenix tries to at least build momentum for next year with a win over Dallas. The Suns obviously need a win, but would also require a loss by Portland or Memphis to slide into the play-in game. Phoenix plays at 4:00, the same time as the Grizzlies and five hours before Portland, so expect a full-go from the Suns.

Spurs vs. Jazz, 232 O/U - 6:30 PM ET

If San Antonio loses to Utah, their 22-year playoff streak is over, plain and simple. Two of the three out of the group of Memphis, Phoenix, and Portland would also have to lose, combined with a Spurs win, if Gregg Popovich and Co. want to make the play-in game. Utah is locked into the 6 seed win or lose.

Pelicans vs. Magic, 228.5 O/U - 9:00 PM ET

The Magic have at least four games left after tonight, as they are playoff bound but with an injury-depleted lineup and a date with the Bucks in the first round. New Orleans sat Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and Jrue Holiday on Tuesday and could do so again in their season finale that has no implications win or lose.

Trail Blazers vs. Nets, 236.5 O/U - 9:00 PM ET

Unfortunately (for DFS players) Portland will know its postseason fate by the time tonight's 9:00 PM ET game tips off. If Memphis, Phoenix, and San Antonio win, it really tightens the screws on the Trail Blazers to hold on to the 8 seed. It is a must win for Portland, look for another huge night from Damian Lillard who has 61 and 51 real points the last two games.

Guards

Dillon Brooks DK $5.5k | FD $5.7k

Dillon Brooks laid a hard-boiled one on with 20fp on a 26 projection. He still took 15 shots though, his fourth straight game with 15+ field goal attempts. The Grizzlies are in a must-win tonight and up against Milwaukee's #1 pace. The Bucks probably won't be playing a ton of their regulars, so Brooks should get a favorable defensive matchup.

6X to 7X seems to be in the wheelhouse for Brooks in such a big game for Memphis.

Markelle Fultz DK $5.2k | FD $5.3k

The Orlando injury report is looking pretty lengthy, but on the plus side that has allowed Markelle Fultz to run the show for the Magic. He's taken 18 shots in each of the last two games while averaging 37.5 fppg. It's a fast-paced game (on paper) vs. New Orleans but also a coin-toss with neither team playing for anything.

Break out the band-aids for this battle of the walking wounded

Derrick White DK $5.9k | FD $6.9k

Derrick White has solid value on DraftKings this afternoon. The Spurs are in a must-win game vs. the Jazz who essentially have nothing to play for. White has gone for 40+ fp in 3 of 7 in the bubble, one of which came against the Jazz on August 7th when he was 8-15 from the field with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Forwards

Joe Harris $5.2k | FD $5.1k

Joe Harris is probable (groin) in the regular season finale. He missed Tuesday's game against Orlando but should be ready to launch in the swan song for the Nets. Harris has posted 13, 14, 11, and 16 shots the last four he's played. Over that span, the Brooklyn SF has gone for 30+ fp three times. The Trail Blazers have allowed 30+ fp to five straight at the position.

Harris has a favorable matchup tonight vs. Portland

Mikal Bridges $5.3k | FD $5k

The Suns are in a must-win-and-need-help game today vs. the Mavs. Mikal Bidges and Phoenix play the 4:00 PM ET, so they'll be giving a max effort. Bridges has put together a couple 30+ fp nights and is up against a Mavericks team missing Kristaps Porzingis in the front court. Dallas has allowed 40+ fp to 3 of the last 4 SF they've faced.

Dallas is struggling vs. the SF position.

Carmelo Anthony DK $6.3k | FD $5.4k

There's a little price jump on DK for Carmelo Anthony tonight but he still has solid value on FanDuel. Anthony seems to be getting into playoff mode with increasing fantasy points in each of the last three games (32, 35, 44).

Anthony's value increases depending on what happens with the early games. If Phoenix, Memphis, and the Spurs win, Portland will need a victory to reach the play-in game. Anthony took 17 shots vs. the Mavs last game, and has logged at least 34 minutes in each of the last three. Expect those numbers to continue when the primetime lights are on.

Center

Boban Marjanovic DK $3.5k | FD $4.1k

Boban Marjanovic had a 40 fp game in the bubble when he went 7-11 from the field with 9 rebounds August 10th vs. the Jazz. The Dallas big man obviously followed that up with a 1-1 night in 7 minutes but that was on the back-to-back. The Mavs are without Porzingis tonight and face a Suns team that has allowed 34+ fp to 4 of the last 5 C's they've faced.

People seem to think that 40fp game for Boban was an anomaly.
