Top NBA Plays May 14th| Getting Ugly

It's looking like a lopsided night for this 8-game NBA Friday, as six contests have a spread of at least 9 points. The Western Conference playoff teams are set, and Washington can punch the final ticket in the East with a win over Cleveland. Let's see how the slate breaks down.

Today's NBA Matchups

Cavs @ Wizards (-9), O/U 225.5 7:00 PM ET

Bradley Beal is out again tonight (hamstring) and the Wizards still haven't clinched the #10 seed, so does that make Russ Westbrook a play even in a blowout game? The price continues to climb, but Westy has hit 70+ in 6 of 7.

Nuggets (-10) @ Pistons, O/U 221.5 8:00 PM ET

Denver is in a blowout spot, but they might not want to win this one over Detroit. The Nuggets are currently lined up to play the Mavs in the 1st round of the playoffs, but if they get up to the 3 seed it could mean a matchup with Portland or the Lakers. Don't be too surprised if the Nugs take a dive here.

Magic @ Sixers (-13.5), O/U 219.5 8:00 PM ET

Philly has a one-game lead over the Nets for the top spot in the East, so it's likely all systems go tonight against an Orlando team that has dropped five straight - all by double digits. Both teams are on the b2b, but Joel Embiid is expected to play on 0 days rest.

Jazz (-14.5) @ Thunder, O/U 221.5 8:00 PM ET

Utah has very little value in what should be a very easy win over OKC - the starters at least. The Jazz have a 1 game lead over the Suns with two to play, and the Thunder have lost 8 in a row.

Raptors @ Mavs (-12), O/U 220.5 9:00 PM ET

Toronto lost by a dozen to the Bulls last night, and once again have a skeleton crew ready to face the Mavs.

Clippers (-12) @ Rockets, O/U 226.5 9:00 PM ET

How hard do the Clippers go here following a 23 point win over the Hornets last night and against a Houston team that has dropped 7 straight?

Kings @ Grizzlies (-6), O/U 228.5 9:00 PM ET

Memphis won this matchup 116-110 last night, getting 30 real points (on 28 shots) from Dillon Brooks. Sacramento's Justin James broke the slate last night with 43fp off the bench.

Pelicans @ Warriors (-2.5), O/U 229.5 9:30 PM ET

This sure looks like a trap play on the Warriors, because why are they just -2.5 favorites against a Pelicans team that is injured and has nothing to play for?

Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables

Steph Curry DK $10.2k | FD $10.1k

vs. New Orleans

Steph Curry is in one of the few non-blowout spots on this slate, as the Warriors are just -2.5 favorites against the Pelicans. He's a GTD, but averaged 6X in two games vs. the Pelicans to begin the month. Curry also leads the league in scoring at 31.8 ppg, just ahead of Bradley Beal at 31.4 so a big game would clinch the crown.

Collin Sexton DK $8.3k | FD $7.8k

@Washington

Should be as much usage as Collin Sexton wants available tonight, as the Cavs have 9 guys on the injury report. It's a great matchup too, as the Wizards are last in the league vs. the PG over the past month, allowing 45fppg. Trae Young has 50+ vs. the Wiz the past two games, and Caris LeVert went for 70 the contest before that.

Terence Davis DK $6.2k | FD $6.8k

@Memphis

Run it back on Terence Davis, who hit for 16/5/4 last night vs. the Grizzlies, his fourth straight game with 38+ fp. Memphis has the worst defense in the league vs. reserves over the past month as well.

🍺Other Likes🍕 - Jordan Clarkson ($7.8k) Utah playing for the #1 seed and Clarkson has hit for 40+ in 4 of 5. Easy matchup vs. OKC.

Tim Hardaway, Jr. ($6k) - easy matchup with Toronto being on the back to back, and Hardaway has hit 6X in 4 of his last 6.

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Draymond Green DK $7.6k | FD $7.9

vs. New Orleans

Draymond Green is a GTD with a finger injury, but will likely play in what should be a close game with the Pelicans. Green has double digit assists in three straight, a trend that should continue as he tries to help Curry clinch the scoring title.

Edit: Draymond is Out tongiht

Tobias Harris DK $7.4k | FD $6.9k

vs. Orlando

Big upside for Tobias Harris tonight if Joel Embiid sits on the b2b. That would give Harris a 4% usage and 16fp bump up against a horrible Orlando team just ready to close out the season.

🍺Other Likes🍕 -KJ Martin ($7k) - why not? He's hit the perfect lineup in five straight games with a 39 fp floor.

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Khem Birch DK $6.6k | FD $5.9k

@ Dallas

Toronto has 8 guys on the injury report list again tonight, and the b2b shouldn't affect Khem Birch as he played a manageable 28 minutes in last night's loss to the Bulls. Birch gets a +32% boost in down-pace games as well.

Moses Brown DK $4.8k | FD $5.2k

vs. Utah

Moses Brown grabbed 15 boards in his last matchup with the Jazz in April, and has a great chance at 6X tonight in the return meeting with Rudy Gobert and Utah. The Jazz rank 26th defensively vs. the C position, allowing 35 fppg.
