Top NBA Plays Wednesday April 13th| Play-In 2.0

We didn't know what to expect from this year's NBA play-in format, but to be honest last night was pretty good. Cleveland fought hard in their loss to the Nets and Minnesota was obviously excited after clinching a rare spot in the postseason following their victory over the Clippers.

The big question is which role players are going to be the key to the slate tonight - with Bruce Brown, Kevin Love, Nic Claxton, and Rajon Rondo all part of the perfect lineup on Tuesday. Let's get to the breakdown.

🏀Top Player Props April 13th 🏀

LineStar has a new Player Prop tab that lets you search for the best individual props through apps such as DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, and PointsBet. Here are some of the best bets for tonight:

🏀Trae Young (Under 31.5 points) -Sure he could go off any night, but also only averages 20.0 ppg in 12 career games vs. the Hornets. Young has never scored more than 30 vs. Charlotte and both play-in contests went 'under' the betting total, meaning the playoff defense is amped up a bit.

🏀LaMelo Ball (Triple double = "yes") - Worth a look at +800 considering he's averaged 18.8/8.6/8.4 in 5 career games vs. the Hawks. He's 3 rebounds shy of a trip-dub in 3 of his last 4 vs. Atlanta. Decent price on double-double too (-105) as he is averaging 23.3 points and 9.1 assists over his last 10.

🏀Clint Capela (Over 13.5 rebounds) - He's averaged 13 rebounds/game in 28 minutes in his last 12 vs. the Hornets and has grabbed 14+ in 3 of 4 games vs. Charlotte this year.

🏀Jakob Poeltl (Double double = "yes") - +170 odds even when he's averaging 13.7/11.7 the last three games and up against a Pelicans squad allowing 13.3/8.2 to opposing C's over the past 20 games and with a slightly banged up Jonas Valanciunas.

🏀Devin Vassell (Over 2.5 three pointers) - +145 but has taken at least 7 three pointers in 7 of his last 10, making 3+ in 8 of those games. He'll be launching if the Spurs do get down as +5.5 road underdogs.

Tonight's Key NBA Matchups

Hornets @ Hawks (-5.5), O/U 235.5 7:00 ET

This is about as close as a contest you can draw up. The teams split their season series 2-2 and both finished up at 43-39 on the year. The games this year weren't as high scoring as you think, with the 130-127 Charlotte win on December 5th the only game that saw either squad scoring in the 120s.

The Hornets shored up their interior defense a bit down the stretch, so it will be interesting what the Clint Capela ownership will be tonight. It wouldn't have been a shocker to see Trae Young as the highest priced player on the slate, but that honor actually goes to Dejounte Murray.

Spurs @ Pelicans (-5.5), O/U 224 9:30 ET

San Antonio did get Dejounte Murray back in the regular season finale, as he scored 17 points in 31 minutes following a 5-game absence for a respiratory infection. The Spurs took 3 out of 4 in the head to head series this season, with Murray averaging 18.3/9.8/10 in those games.

The Pelicans are -5.5 favorites despite Brandon Ingram being on the injury report with a hamstring issue. He's already said he'll play in this game but you have to wonder what the ownership will be as he's missed 13 of the last 18? Ingram's status could open up a big game for CJ McCollum.

Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables

Terry Rozier DK $6.8k | FD $6.7k @ Atlanta

  • $2.2k cheaper than CJ McCollum with very similar projections

  • Shot 20 times in last year's play-in loss to Indiana, going to be bitter after going 0-9 from three

  • Had 22+ real points in 2 of the last 3 in the regular season even when clinched

Bogdan Bogdanovic DK $5.7k | FD $7.1k vs. Charlotte

  • Not on FD, but great DK pricing for a guy averaging 18.9/4/2.6 over his last 10 games

  • He's taken at least a dozen shots in 9 of the last 10

  • Had 48fp almost a year ago to the day vs. the Hornets

Kelly Oubre, Jr. DK $3.9k | FD $4.5k @ Atlanta

  • There's worse upside out there for a sub $4k player

  • Has taken at least 13 shots in 5 of the last 6 games vs. Atlanta

  • Had a 28 real point game in Atlanta in December (39 minutes)

Tonight's SF / PF Notables

Miles Bridges DK $7.1k | FD $6.1k @ Atlanta

  • He's from Flint, MI but loves playing in Atlanta with a 32 and a 35 real point game at State Farm Arena this year

  • His minutes were down a bit last three games after Charlotte clinched, averaged 35.5 mpg during the regular season

Devin Vassell DK $6k | FD $6k @ New Orleans

  • He's hit for 15+ real points in 7 of the last 10

  • Double digit shot attempts in 9 of the last 10

  • Pelicans giving up 19.3 ppg to opposing SFs last 20

De'Andre Hunter DK $4.3k | FD $4.3k vs Hornets

  • Must play at that price, has gone for 29+ fp in 5 straight vs. Charlotte

  • Has 20+ real points last three games vs. Charlotte and has averaged 16.8/5.5/2.7 vs. the Hornets in his career

Tonight's Center Position Notables

Clint Capela DK $6.9k | FD $7.3k vs. Charlotte

  • Have to play the big vs. the Hornets in this spot with Charlotte allowing 14.3 points and 10.4 rebounds to opposing C's past 20 games

  • Capela has broken 40 fp in two of four vs. Hornets this season, averaging
