Top NBA Plays Wednesday December 29th| Hanging By a Thread

NBA rules state that teams must have at least 4 roster players among the required 8, which could have Miami in trouble on the back to back with Jimmy Butler (ankle) being out. The game with the Spurs being played all depends on if Miami can sign a player prior to game time.

The Hawks are another team with just four rotation players available tonight in a rematch of Monday's loss to the Bulls.

Tonight's Key NBA Matchups

Knicks (-7.5) @ Pistons , O/U 210 7:00 ET

New York is on the back to back after an 8-point win in Minnesota last night. The Knicks are starting to get some depth back which helps them on 0 days rest...and they're also playing the 5-27 Pistons who have dropped 17 of 18.

Hornets @ Pacers (-3), O/U 227.5 7:00 ET

It's been a while since Charlotte wasn't in a game with the highest betting total of the night, but that's the Jazz @ Trail Blazers tonight (228.5). The Hornets did hold the Rockets to 99 points on Monday, but Indiana still has to be a target here.

Hawks @ Bulls (-8), O/U 223 8:00 ET

Chicago won this matchup 130-118 on Monday in Atlanta even when the Bulls were playing on the back to back after a win over the Pacers on Sunday. That might make this one a blowout game potential...if it gets played.

Lakers @ Grizzlies (-6), O/U 226.5 8:00 ET

It will be interesting to see how the Lakers attack the back to back after a pretty fast paced 132-123 win in Houston last night. Lebron James played 39 minutes in the win.

Jazz (-7) @ Trail Blazers, O/U 228.5 10:00 ET

Highest betting total of the night which is kind of weird considering the Jazz shut down the Spurs 110-104 on Monday. Portland did play Dallas to a 132-117 loss in their last game though so maybe this one does run at a little faster pace.

Mavs (-2.5) @ Kings, O/U 220 10:30 ET

Maybe Sacramento coach Alvin Gentry calling a 25 point loss to Memphis 'absolutely ridiculous' inspired the team to a win on Tuesday - or perhaps it was the fact they played Oklahoma City. Either way, the Kings go on the back to back tonight against a Dallas team still without Luka Doncic and Tim Hardaway, Jr.
