Top NBA Plays Wednesday February 9th| Quiet-ish
Today might be the sandwich day between yesterday's swapping of players and tomorrow's trade deadline. It's quiet, but not silent as news of Nickeil Alexander-Walker skipping stopping at Portland and going right to the Jazz after his trade from the Pelicans yesterday.
It's also still early though, so keep an eye on the transaction list and the late scratches of player's who might be rested to avoid injury prior to tomorrow's deadline.
It's a 6-game slate headlined by Caris LeVert's expected debut in Cleveland, Klay Thompson sitting on the first end of a back to back, the Lakers and Portland playing each other both on the back to back, and the T'Wolves and Kings repeating last night's 20-point Minnesota win.
The Utah Jazz are acquiring guard Portland’s Nickeil Alexander-Walker and the Spurs’ Juancho Hernangomez in a three-way deal, sources tell ESPN. The Spurs gets guard Tomas Satoransky and a second-round pick, and the Blazers get Joe Ingles, Elijah Hughes and a second-round pick.

Tonight's Key NBA Matchups
Spurs @ Cavs (-5.5) O/U 216.5 7:00 ET
It's Caris LeVert debuts tonight in Cleveland coming off a 42 real point outing in his last game as a member of the Pacers. LeVert is $9k in his debut, a tough sell even though Darius Garland (back) could miss his fifth straight game for the Cavs. The Spurs have been off since February 4th, so they are fresh.
As an outsider, Caris LeVert sensed something special happening with the Cavs. He noticed their connection on the floor, and admired how the bench erupted after a basket. Now he’s part of it. trib.al/1Hh6Yl5

Bulls (-1.5) @ Hornets, O/U 236.5 7:30 ET
Chicago had a rare off day yesterday after playing four games in the previous five nights. Zach LaVine returned with 32 points on Monday and DeMar DeRozan continued his hot play with 31, 45, and 38 real points the last three. Charlotte has lost five straight.
Raptors (-10) @ Thunder, O/U 206 8:00 ET
OKC is just 4-14 over their last 18 games and they have to square up with a Raptors team that has won six straight. Pascal Siakam has a double-double in four of the last six, and it's only a matter of time before he is a constant triple-double threat with his time at the 1 increasing.
Pascal Siakam enjoying playing some point guard because it's given him a different understanding of the game

Warriors @ Jazz (-2) , O/U 224.5 10:00 ET
Utah has put an injury riddled January (4-12 W/L) and have rattled off three straight to kick off February. Rudy Gobert (calf) remains out but Donovan Mitchell has averaged 29/5/6 in his two games since returning from concussion protocols. Golden State has played just one game since February 3rd (110-98 win over OKC) but will be resting Klay Thompson on the first part of a back to back.
Lakers (-9) @ Trail Blazers, O/U 223.5 10:00 ET
Both teams are on the back to back here with the Lakers falling 131-116 at home to Milwaukee and Portland losing 113-95 to Orlando. The Trail Blazers are a team in transition right now with recent trades of CJ McCollum, Norman Powell, and Robert Covington - but we would have liked more than 19 points from Anfernee Simons last night in his 1st game as the new face of the franchise.
Timberwolves (-9) @ Kings, O/U 235 10:00 ET
A back to back rematch of last night's 134-114 dominating Timberwolves win. The bench did a lot of the damage for Minnesota as Sacramento was playing shorthanded following the trades of Buddy Hield, Tyrese Haliburton, and Tristan Thompson to Indiana earlier in the day.
Tonight's Point Guard / Shooting Guard Notables
Donovan Mitchell DK $8.6k | FD $8.8k vs. Warriors
Still solid value as he was a +9k player before his concussion
Averaging 29.5/5/6 in two games since his return
Has never broken 50fp vs. Golden State, but let that bring ownership down
Gary Trent DK $6.5k | FD $6.6k @ Oklahoma City
A lot of mouths to feed in Toronto, but has 16+ shots in 7 of the last 8
Back on track a bit with 24 real points Monday after being held to 19 and 16 the previous two
Good history vs. Thunder, with 40+ fp in 5 of the last 7
Malik Beasley DK $4.1k | FD $5.5k @ Sacramento
Hit 7 of 8 three pointers last night which likely won't be duplicated, but at least he'll have the confidence to launch
18+ real points in three straight off the bench
Kings have the worst reserve defense in the NBA, and are still shorthanded after recent trades
Tonight's SF / PF Notables
DeMar DeRozan DK $9.6k | FD $10.5k @ Charlotte
Price is a little up there, but he's also very consistent with 47+ fp in 11 straight games
Had a rare rest day yesterday, had put up 49fp and 53fp in two back-to-backs over the weekend
Hornets have allowed 40+ fp to 3 of last 4 SFs
Darius Bazley DK $5.6k | FD $6k vs. Toronto
The points upside as well as the rebound upside is nice
Averaging 19 ppg last two, had 11.5 rpg the two games prior
PFs have hit for 30+ fp in three straight vs. Raptors
Justise Winslow DK $4.5k | FD $4.3k vs. Lakers
Worth a play as he starts his second game with Portland
Back to back, but Trail Blazers still a bit thin as trades get processed
Took 12 shots in his debut
Lakers have allowed 35+ fp to four straight PFs
Greg Brown DK $3.8k | FD $3.5k vs. Lakers
Should get good play again with all of Portland's recent trades
16+ minutes in three straight, 4-13 with 8 rebounds last night
Lakers defense
Greg Brown’s first career podium:

Tonight's Center Position Notables
Nikola Vucevic DK $9.5k | FD $9.8k @ Charlotte
He can be frustrating, but the matchup is there with the Hornets allowing 50+ fp to three straight starting centers
Dropped a 30/14/5 line on the Hornets at the end of November (63fp)
Has double digit rebounds in five of the last six
Jarrett Allen DK $8.1k | FD $7.6k vs San Antonio
On a nice rebounding tear lately, with 39 boards the last two games
Had 16 rebounds vs. Spurs in January, San Antonio ranks 23rd in opponent rebounds
Also averaging 22 real points last two, defenses should be spread out more with the addition of LeVert
